  • "Under common law, using the roads was a right not a priviledge". And it still is - if you walk, bike, skate, skip, run, ride a horse. But if you pilot 2tons of steel at speeds up to 70mph, yes you need verification that you at least have the proper training, vision, and a record of who you are.

IMO, the cop was unusually professional (and I'm NOT a big fan of some cops).

  • @NachoBoy100 {if you walk, bike, skate, skip, run, ride a horse}

For that to make sense one would have to assume that none of those activities are capable of causing accidents.

  • My hand's not on my gun..it's on my holster...hmmm.

  • Why the hell didn't she talk to the officers. Stand up and speek! Have a copy of your title and proof of car insurance. Thats all you need and a world passport for an ID... ???any ideas? Nobody has to register their car.

  • Why should she? She was stopped and violently threatened. If the Mob stopped you and asked you to produce identitiy documents distributed by them you wouldn't comply if not entirely necessary to your survival.

  • Is this guy a joke? "Please take your hands off your weapons?"

  • I hope they gave her plenty of tin foil to make a hat with when she was in jail.

  • Sorry I took the time to answer your comment Timmy.

To others who are interested, do some research and find out how far down the path to a total surveillance state we are.

  • By telling me not to say "you" are you trying to interfer with my freedom of speech? I already own a wooded lot in New Hampshire and I intend to keep it that way! Apparently I'm aready doing more for society than you are!

And by the way, people are already " able to drive drunk" but it is illegal and it definitely should be!!!

  • I honestly hadn't given it any thought about whether you would respond. :)

I'd like to know where you would put these legal drunk driving roads. Perhaps tear down more New Hampshire forests to accommodate you and your moronic friends? If there were legal drunk driving roads people who share your sentiments would not live long enough to enjoy them.

  • I suppose you believe drunk driving should be legal too.

  • Whatever message you're trying to get across is backfiring on you as you appear to be very much misinformed. TRAVELING ON THE ROADS IS LEGAL. WHAT PART OF THAT DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND? If you don't have a driver's license you can be a passenger. You can walk or ride your bike on all roads except the highways. I never realized what cool cops we have in New Hampshire. I couldn't be any prouder or impressed with the positive way they handled this situation.

  • Travel over the roads is now a privilege, it used to be a right. Apparently, through rather clever means, the government has incrementally turned the document that proved your ability to drive a motor vehicle into an internal passport, which can be revoked for things having absolutely nothing to do with driving.

As to walking, try it some time, often the police stop and demand ID, and the courts have ruled you must show ID.

Try riding a bus, train, or airplane...

    Citizen where are your papers.

  • I walk almost every day and I've never been stopped and asked for my driver's license!

  • You dont legally need an ID to fly, take a bus, or ride a train. Get the facts. And I've never been stopped for walking. Stop making stuff up just to complain.

  • Google "TSA requires ID to fly"

The airlines would try and bluff people into thinking that you had to show ID to fly, when pressed they would allow it with a more extensive search.

    This from the TSA

"Beginning Saturday, June 21, 2008 passengers that willfully refuse to provide identification at security checkpoint will be denied access to the secure area of airports..."

Challenged in court the government declared that the law requiring ID was secret... that's right we now have secret laws.

  • Amtrak requires ID to ride the train as do most Bus lines.

When walking police can detain you and demand ID. The courts have upheld that you are required to identify yourself , even when now crime has been committed. I have personally talked to several people detained and ID demanded by police while walking do the road. Some have been arrest for refusing.

Passengers in automobiles are also routinely ask to ID themselves and can be arrest for refusing.

  • Wow you just love to bitch about nothing. Well I have flown without ID many times, never had a problem. Rode busses, and the train. All without an ID. Go jogging and walking routinely, never had a problem. But then, i'm not out looking for attention...

  • That Police man was patient and courteous.

That woman deserves to be in jail.

I would agree with her is she had felt she had been victimized, but the woman acted like a kindergarden child, refusing to talk and being obstinate to a point.

    Douche bag.

  • Driving a deadly weapon (car) on a state/town maintained road gives cops legal permission to pull you over, with adequate reasoning. Failure to provide them wiith proper licensing and registration when asked, gives them a legal reason to arrest you. And I doubt that someone forced you to illegally drive a car on the road. Driving a car hurts the environment, no license is required to ride a bike or walk. Yet you insisted on breaking the law. Simply by choice and ignorance, did you get arrested.

  • she like being in jail!!! and making New Hampshire pay so she can have a roof over her head and food in her belly

  • Instigate things?

Of course you neglected to mention what crimes you were charged with.

Lauren has been repeatedly hassled to the point of refusing to cooperate with the state licensing laws.

She has no criminal history. Decorated veteran.

Standing up to the ever increasing police state is the only reason she goes to jail.

  • I am personally from New Hampshire, I was born here and I grew up here. I've been arrested for a multitude of things over the coarse of my life. but these people who move here and instigate things like this, well they give us and our whole live free or die outlook on life a bad name, get out of my state please.

  • I share your sentiment. These people need to get a life and leave our New Hampshire alone.

  • This goes to show what kind of dumb people we have in our society. Guys like these, have unresolved issues. If a cop asks for your license, show it to him. Don't make it hard on yourself.

  • I don't get it. What's wrong with showing your license if caught speeding? At a random roadblock you shouldn't have to show it but this is different. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near a highway if unlicensed people were allowed to drive, and that would happen if cops couldn't ask for a license when stopping you. Yes common law means you can use the roads but not operate heavy machinery (vehicles)on them, that part is the privilege. Would you want unlicensed truckers on the highway?

  • for a very long time we have been indoctrinated to believe that to travel around this country we need permission. I understand why you would be opposed to people driving w/o paperwork. I thought the same thing for a while. But a free people do not need permission to travel. which is what for a time we did in this country

  • "Let me be a free man, free to travel, free to stop, free to work, free to trade where I choose, free to choose my own teachers, free to follow the religion of my fathers, free to talk, think and act for myself -- and I will obey every law or submit to the penalty." CHIEF JOSEPH OF THE NEZ PERCE

  • Almost 10,000 hits.

    THANK YOU LAUREN!

    We love you.

  • Hand on a holstered weapon is not a threat. BUT, He should have been allowed to do the same thing.

  • It's not an overt threat, of course, but it is not a very tactful thing to do. It understandably makes people uneasy.

  • Hi Menno: "Vitruvian" was taken, so I chose this name instead.

  • Cupcake, could you clarify... were you being serious, or was that intended as sarcasm? It sounds more like sarcasm to me.

    ...just curious :)

  • "You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it."

  • youtube censorship sponsored by NAZI-USA

  • Would the cops have acted in the same manner if the camera wasn't on them? I highly doubt it.

  • big bad cop has to call for backup??? what a joke.

  • You are right "Cupcake", the police ARE "fucking the common folk.,,therefore your verbage is correct by calling them "fucking police". Thanks for lettng ohter people know that the police are fucking us. Cheers!

  • Cupcake...that's some sweet language. Maybe one could respect them...if they weren't "fucking police".

  • How long should Lauren be in jail for not having government papers?

  • i know that officer

  • Please let him know that he has some new fans! I'm very impressed with the way he handled this situation!

  • Youtube is censoring people who they think is to controvercial.

They are not having them on the most discussed list, viewed list, top rated list and so on.

STOP THE CENSORING YOUTUBE! This is fascism! The fabolous captnoawesome is beeing censored

by youtube. So are many others. AND FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER! JUST BECAUSE ITS NOT POLITICAL CORRECT!

SPREAD THE WORD! STOP youtube- FASCISM!

  • IT IS NOT YOUTUBE!!! Read the rules. If you post a video, you can 'censor' any comments/users. What a way to take away the 'paper' you write on, huh? Do you feel threatened from the people, who give you and/or take away from you, the 'papers' you write on? Live Free Or Submit to Stupidity. I feel threatened by their taking away my (pen)'weapon'. Keep your hands off my weapon!

  • Nothing seems to anger slaves more than to see one walk free.

  • where are your papers, isn't it required to register dogs in NH???

  • fucking rights. the only part of me that disagrees with her is why she was speeding. That is a crime. Not having registration is not.

  • You NH free staters who come up with these stupid videos are a bunch of idiots and undesirable people. JOB WELL DONE BY THE POLICE! Keep Lauren Canario in jail!

  • Break the law, get punished or go to jail, it's been that way since man became civilized.

Land of the free, but you still have to pay. It's just the way things are. Sad, but true. Don't take it out on the civil servants on the job wasting time with these idiots, rather than dealing with the outrageous crime that IS spreading over the city.

  • I understand the "anarchy" idea, but they are going about things the wrong way. "Kidnapped"? The guy sounds like an idiot, the whole "hands on the weapon obsession" really did nothing but prove to the world that police in Manchester are more patient than we give them credit for.

  • it was Milford NH but other than that right on!!!!

  • how is failure to respond 'resisting arrest'?

  • Under NH law once you are told that you are under arrest you shall submit to the arrest, failure to do so is resisting arrest. Once she was told that she was under arrest and to step out of the car and she did not comply she was resisting because she did not submit to the arrest. The POLICE DID EVERYTHING BY THE BOOK, JOB WELL DONE MILFORD POLICE! Keep her in jail!

  • I was just asking a question no need to get mad at me.

  • she wasn't in jail long enough, she's still running her big ass mouth..

  • failure to Obey a police officer if she just stated ( so the Pd heard her) she could have payed a fine that night instead of going to jail she is stupid and a waste of NH peoples time and money .... she should help people in the China sweet shops she is not doing any good here but taking up NH tax dollars get out of NH Lauren .. PLEASE!!!

  • I think we should start a "Get the fuck outta NH if you hate it so much" charity.. We'll all pay for her ass to dissapear outta here. Perhaps communist china.. then she can see how great she has it here. and shut her big fat ass pie hole

  • You are clearly not too bright. She doesn't hate NH, she's displaying the balls to stand up for OUR rights; rights that are being stripped away on an almost daily basis. It's people like you with your unquestioning compliance who allow the government to keep us from truly being free. I think YOU should leave NH, fool.

  • Sorry but you people are completely dispicable!

  • shame on you people, your nothing but a waste of our taxpayers money, the officer was nothing but polite to you.

  • you should of had a license and a registration end of story. As a young adult, living in NH have mine, no biggie and your acting like your above the law. Like you shouldn't have to get a license. so what if once 100 years ago you did need one. times have changed and cars are more dangerous. I have a LOT of respect for officers just from putting up with your scam. Get a license and registration end of comment!

  • you guys were jerk to the backup cop with the hand on the holstedr thing thats just what they do. and just a side comment not to the people in this video i know that officer since middle school he is a great guy to bad he has to go to court over this junk... Go Officer Durham! :)

  • oops holster not holstedr i was typing to fast

  • This is a demonstration of the level of ignorance in our world today. If you genuinely believe that this is doing something for you, besides making a complete ignoramus of yourself, than you are most definitely in need of some education about common law. I am disgusted that you would even try to incriminate the just actions of the police.

  • Why does everyone think this is about the police? They are just the enforcers.

The problem lies with the exceptance of privilege vs rights.

We have watched the government build the fences and now they are locking the gates.

When the demand for papers at the airports was challenged in court we were told that the law is secret.

When did American except "Papers please."

  • this issue wasn't about the papers. it was that she resisted arrest, the police officer didn't say you're under arrest right when she refused the papers. I again state you need to find much better terra firma for an argument like this one, or else your demonstrations are more for entertainment than for a legitimate change within government.

  • Thanks for the polite response. Compared to the wishes for violent retaliation we've seen here.

We'll just have to disagree about the "issue".

Civil disobedience is an attempt to effect change outside the political process. I don't remember voting to allow the requirement to have government papers to travel.

  • this is true, but if you are so concerned why not simply run for office based on your beliefs?

  • Some folks in the underground do.

Some of us feel that it is past that point, we just won't go along anymore.

An example of the government just doing as they please. I was involved in a effort to stop a privacy killing federal banking regulation. We gather 250,000 + signatures and stopped the implimentation of the regulation, a few short years later they did it anyway. The just called it something different and administatively pushed it through.

  • well that is the way things work, unfortunately, but my point still stands. why did you demonstrate like this, i mean i know that officer personally and it seems unnecessary to demonstrate to that extreme, i mean you planned to do what you did right?

  • I am just a video produce who used the footage that the husband shot.

It was not planned to do this that night. However it was something that would eventually happen.

The main officer was a decent man from what I saw. Just like in the movies where the decent german said papers please. This is difficult to understand until after the fact, but the tracking of citizens is accomplished with the driver's license.

  • I don't want to run for office.

If I did ... what about in the mean time ... do I have to obey all their rules? What happens if I make a rule you don't like?

  • because it it a privilege not a right read the Law when you sign for your privilege then go from there

  • The man at university of florida should have behaved this way. The next, I advise you to behave this way if it seems appropriate. Any tazer victim, please do this.

  • THe worlds full of dumb people and these clowns are near the top of the list. The police should be praised for their professionalism and conduct. If you dont like the rule of law, then you need to live somewhere where it doesnt exist. Period. USA, rule of law, live by it.

  • This is the stupidest thing I've seen all week. Thanks for wasting tax dollars and the police's time. What an idiot.

  • why doesn't she pay her bail and let the free NH residents get on with what is important like instead of paying to jail her help feed the hungry or heat the cold or give a child and education witch she either doesnt have or choose to use!!!!!

  • I don't think we got our money's worth with your education. Learn to spell. Then try to post an original thought.

Why do the angry post the same ideas over and over? I guess it is the "herd" mentality.

  • word!!!! could have not said it any better myself!!!

  • why doesn't she take this up with the gov. instead of speeding with a video cam??

  • What vote our way to freedom?

    It's called civil disobedience...

Another person spent three weeks in jail for a light out. Anything can get you pulled over.

  • no they would get it fixed so the same mistake wouldn't happen again... Is Lauren "fixed" so the mistake her parents made won't happen again???

  • I can assure you the REASON that they were in jail was NOT simply because they had a light out. You don't get arrested for a having a light out.

  • why??

  • ya right

  • I agree with sosehale... let her pay her bail and repay NH then get on with her life

  • just what was her point??? I want to break a law and let NH tax payers pay for my room and board thanks for taking my money for something so useless. Does anyone know how we can make her pay her confinement fee???

  • after she pays restitution and repays New Hampshire citizen's ... fine let her go back to where she came from.. she wasn't born in NH but our way of life is giving her a free meal ticket

  • Grow up people!!! Did you all just arrive here in the good old USA? There are laws for a reason. Some people just like to be defiant (sort of like, not liking your parents telling you what to do when you are small, but it has to be). If everyone did as they wanted to, this world would be even scarier than it is now. If you don't like the way things are in this country, you are free to leave at any time !!!!

  • obviously not by car

  • The point was...she would break any law society puts forth, as long as it won't hurt others. TG, she didn't hurt others the night she decided to use her car as a deadly weapon. But, she still puts a crimp in the budget of struggling families who are trying to put food on THEIR table, not hers. I have the right to bare arms. My left arm and my right arm. I prefer they not be taken away from a speeding driver. It appears there are a few people on drugs here, I don't think it's the cops.

  • What's next? Robbing banks? Excellent job, Milford PD! You keep busting them, and I'll keep voting for the laws that keep them off the streets. Staying silent is no way to be heard.

  • It depends how much more 'robbing' you plan to do.

  • These are the same type of people who bomb federal buildings or shoot federal agents who try to arrest them for stockpiling weapons. The Milford officers acted in a profesional manner,I think they should have maced everyone in the car

  • so ... she is now just the same as a shooter? .... but she didn't hurt anyone

  • The Real Reason Lauren is in jail:

From Wiki: "She has made no attempt to make bail or retain an attorney, or participate in the jail system enough to make out an approved visitors list, and so she remains in custody, silent, receiving no visitors."

In other words, she's brought this entirely on herself by refusing to participate in the societal structure (aka government) upheld by the majority of citizens, which DOES provide such options.

  • so if the ransom is not paid ... she will remain kidnapped

  • I'll keep paying my taxes to prevent head on collisions by speeders. The road these people traveled on have produced many fatalities. I vote to let the government protect our lives from people who threaten us with speeding cars.

  • I guess the taxes you pay and government that you vote for hasn't stopped collisions from happening.

  • This is some funny stuff. These idiots really think they are making some political statement when in fact all they are doing is making life difficult for themselves. For a few bucks the dumbazz broad could have gotten her license and registration in the first place, then accepted her ticket like the rest of us, and went on her way. Now, she's in jail facing potentially huge fines along with jail time and her car was towed. Mental midgets, all of them.

  • You all, all of you, received a license to drive when you where 16. Have any of you been required to reprove your ability to drive since?

  • To all who have posted negatively:

Is violence your only suggestion, hanging and shooting? No one is suggesting that drunks or people who are incapable be allowed to drive.

  • I have no interest in using force to stop anyone from driving. So I guess that I am one.

  • Yes we need to rethink the role of the government, but this is not the way to do it. These retards should be hung from the neck until dead for wasting NH's public resources and tax dollars. We have rules in place to protect drivers. Having habitual drunk drivers and blind 90 olds crashing into us head on infringes upon our most important right: THE RIGHT TO LIVE. So stop being mental midgets and learn to compromise. Also for the love of God do not reproduce.

  • @ethiopian32 {These retards should be hung from the neck until dead for wasting NH's public resources and tax dollars}

Did she hold a gun to their head or something? Is it NOT the public who allegedly DEMANDS things be taken this far if necessary?

Why not just make a law saying everyone has to plead guilty- that will save a lot of resources.

  • that chick and the dude that put this one here should be pepper sprayed, teased or even shot just for being dumb butts

  • The intelligent supporters of police state tactics.

  • ...as opposed to the intelligent supporters of arbitrary compliance with the law.

Simply because Mrs. Canario ideologically disagrees with the laws in NH does not automatically grant her the right to ignore them. That also applies to her speeding, btw.

  • I am so glad the cops stood their ground! What a bunch of attention whores these hippies are! Cops in most countries would have pummeled them and taken their tape and possibly executed them! America is GREAT no matter what these douchbags think! Like I said of the Browns, PAY YOUR FRIGGIN TAXES AND OBEY THE RULES LIKE THE REST OF US! DUH!

  • I only wonder what would have happened if Rosa Parks failed to stand up for what she believed to be unjust. Have we come full circle? Is personal protest no longer acceptable in the United States of America? Exactly when did driving become a privilege? What year? What law? Just wondering.... I guess it doesn't really matter, cause most of us won't be able to drive when gas hits $5.00 a gallon anyway!!!

  • That woman is a complete example of an ill educated idiot that has no clue of any laws PERIOD

  • People sure are quick to judge a woman they can neither hear nor see in the video.

  • Seems like this woman and her husband are just another couple of Browns seeking publicity by protesting their dubious rights. People are agreeing with her right to not show her papers, and making comparisons to Nazi Germany? Are you kidding me? Does this mean she has the RIGHT to drive down a highway at 72 MPH? Where are my rights the one that says I have a right to LIVE?

  • PS:

In no way has she been kidnapped, victimized and her car has certainly not been stolen. She broke the law. poking a hornets nest with a stick and getting stung.. what do you expect?

we have it so much better than anywhere else so why waste time bitching about the bad things.look at the good things in life.

  • flat out we live in america.the richest country

yeah the government sucks but who the hell cares.

we don't have it half as bad as the people over in africa.. do we?

we are privaledged and if there were no laws where would we be?

This woman needs to use all of her energy doing something positive instead of acting like a tool. she'd get way further.

  • "yeah the government sucks but who the hell cares" WTF??? I happen to care, thank you very much.

So just because our country has a higher quality of life than many other countries, we should not strive to make the best even better?

My desire is to live in a society where it is commonly recognized that where there is no victim, there is no crime. I resent having a government that brazenly creates victims where none exist, and attacks those who peacefully protest such a travesty.

  • MORE OF THE LAW-----(f) Refuse or neglect to produce his license when requested by a court or justice, or refuse to surrender to the director or to any authorized employee of the department or other authorized representative of the director any license, registration certificate or number plate upon demand after suspension or revocation of the same.

  • What if this law stated that no woman shall refuse to felate an officer when requested to do so? Should everyone comply? Would you hold a gun to their head and force them to? "You gots to obey the law!"

    Blow me, you nazi bastard.

  • There would NEVER be a law like that. Follow the rules. You people don't need to fight everything. The law is simple, YOU HAVE TO PRODUCE A LICENSE WHEN STOPPED FOR A VIOLATION, WHICH SHE WAS. This is not some crusade that anyone wants fought. Try fighting for tougher sex offender penalties, stiffer penalties for DUI's, better school funding, or something else a little bit more worthwhile.

I am NOT a nazi, just a regular guy with COMMON SENSE, something you NUT JOBS lack.

  • No you're not a nazi, you are just doing your job, following orders. Except in you're case it seems a little more personal.

"Why can't I make these people respect me?"

  • I am not looking for RESPECT. I am just making a point, she broke a LAW, bottom line. I am in my warm home, where is she???? I could care less, more comical than anything.

  • I guess people that don't care ... only post comments on youtube :)

  • @BraveCop {she broke a LAW}

Show me a victim, a complaint signed under penalty of perjury, and damages. Without such, all you have is "imaginings".

A "law" is just writing on paper used for the most part to extract money from the citizenry.

  • @BraveCop {Try fighting for tougher sex offender penalties}

One would think this would not be necessary, but, alas, the law is a sick joke. I know first hand of someone who got 1 year with work leave for 3 counts of penetration with a 6 year old.

Good thing he wasn't selling pot, he might really be in trouble - you can get TWO years for just smoking a joint in a park.

But hey, keep worshiping your laws, it only makes you look daft and maniacal.

  • 265:4 Disobeying an Officer. -- I. No person, while driving or in charge of a vehicle, shall: (a) Refuse, when requested by a law enforcement officer, to give his name, address, date of birth, and the name and address of the owner of such vehicle; (e) Refuse, on demand of such officer, to produce his license to drive such vehicle or his certificate of registration or to permit such officer to take the license or certificate in hand for the purpose of examination;

  • How does speeding and disobeying an Officer reflect on America. The crazy bitch needs to follow the rules, simple as that. She could always leave NH or USA if she doe not like the rules, no one asked her to be here. YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW THE RULES, YOU HAVE TO PAY TAXES, YOU HAVE TO OBEY LAWS. We all disagree with some, but are GROWN UP enough to know we need to follow the rules, learned it in Kindergarten.

  • You won't get confused with the polite police will you?

Understand this a 100 pound women named Lauren who is tougher than you... and me.

She has decided she has had enough and her silence is louder than your words

  • and... oh yea when did the goverment get you number? huh?

  • The goverment has always caused more problems than its worth. We should all quit paying taxes

and start driving with out papers, just to show them whos actualy is the boss in this country.

  • this bitch is wacko

  • Thanks for your professional opinion.

  • If it wasn't for the silence, I would have thought that was another Torrets Guy video.

Good job getting yourselves arrested. Next week, why don't you experiment with a road flare vest in a National Guard Armory and see how much freedom they give you there. Idiots. You are the reason that real political change is so impossible. Too many fringe crackpots elbowing the real politicos out of the field.

  • Oh dear god, here we go again. You people complain about not having freedoms (generally after being arrested or otherwise reprimanded for acting out in a reckless or poorly thought out manners with the specific INTENT of creating problems for which you will face consequences) while the entire time bastardizing the English political lexicon.

  • I hope she stays in jail. Who does she think she is? What if she killed someone who was walking or going the speed limit. Their little documentary only proved how patient those police officers were. These nut jobs who don't want to follow the laws, only made themselves look like the idiots they are.

  • What exactly does traveling without papers have to do with killing someone? Does paying the bureaucrats for proper papers give you magical powers, making it impossible, or any less likely for that matter, to kill someone?

  • Lauren is jailed indefinitely for speeding? silence? no papers?

Murderers and rapists are released from prison daily. I bet you're thrilled to have them as neighbors. Perhaps one moved in down the block? Po-lice will protect you?

I'd take Lauren as a neighbor any day. She works hard, is charitable, and always a friend.

The day comes when all truth is revealed. You'll hang your heads in shame, beg for mountains to cover multitudes of your sins (over the top, eh?)

Cast your stones, ye without sin.

  • That's her fault that she is in jail and not being released. She should grow up and accept a ticket for doing something wrong like the rest of us do.

  • This "stupidmentary" has to be a joke, no can be this ignorant...No license? So anyone could drive? No "documentation"? - What proof do you have that is your car and not mine?

Keep in mind that any documentation proving that you should drive, or proof of ownership is now trackable.

And the bit about why a cop has their hand on their gun, at night, on the side of some road...you can't be serious?!?!?

  • License and registration have nothing to do with proving a vehicle belongs to you.

  • It is truely disturbing the anger and hatred that some folks spout towards Lauren.

The issue is not if the police were polite.

The police are just the enforcers of the system that now has a handle on your every move.

Try traveling without showing your papers. Try taking your money and leaving the country.

  • The officer was just doing his job.....She's an idiot,Get a life.........

  • Protest the war or something that matters! Wasting the time of the law as well.

  • The officers wasted their own time. They did not have to detain and cart off a nice old lady who was just trying to get home.

  • Give me a break! There is no such thing as rights without responsibilities. If she had no papers, she probably had no insurance as well. Perhaps nice, but Irresponsible and breaking the law. Laws are intended to protect us from those who chose to be Irresponsible, as in this case.

  • Laws are intended to redistribute resources to those making the laws from those who do not. Paying for papers does not make you or anyone else safe, it only lines some bureaucrats' pockets.

  • The only responsibility that we have is to not bring harm to our neighbors. Lauren was not harming anyone. Refusing to purchase papers from bureaucrats does not harm anyone. Forcing your neighbor to purchase papers, and throwing them in a jail cell when they do not is, however, harmful and is indeed irresponsible.

  • Actually dingbat the concept you are missing is called vicarious liability. Lauren was driving too fast. The fact that she is driving on public roads and was disobeying the stated speed limit placed to protect others from reckless drivers. The "purchase" of the papers is one reason why we don't pay sales or income taxes on a state level.

  • Oh, I get it now. So it's not the purchase of papers, but obeying metal signage that grants the magical powers that keep us all safe.

If you think that driving faster than 55mph on the highway is inherently dangerous, then I hope I never have to travel on the same road as you.

  • This man and woman are without a doubt two of the stupidest people to waste oxygen. I hope they don't have kids.

  • Follow the laws of our land or move to another country. Wait, they have laws too. What a waste of your life. What are you proving? They should have arrested the guy shooting the video too for reckless conduct.

  • I guess cops yet again say we can do onto you that would get you killed if attempted on us. At least they didn't get taser happy. To those out there saying she got what she had coming for breaking the law what do you say to hitler branding the jews maybe the jews didn't want there pretty new number tattoo's and maybe lauren don't want hers numbers ether.

  • yeah but look what happened to hitler you sound like you dont beleve that cops shouldnt enforce the law there are many people out there who have no business driving she was one i guess it would be a different if she killed some one she got her nombers for being an idiot the jews were inocent victims of racial hatred so dont compair the two

  • a privilege? like a reward right for being a compliant slave? wait is walking down the sidewalk a privilege to? the government isn't selling driving its a action done by you and as a so called free person the hindering of this is taking your freedoms away its like saying your freedom is a privilege and its not its a right and hindering your rights is oppression ANY LAW THAT ADVOCATES OPPRESSION IS A BAD LAW AND SHOULD NOT BE FOLLOWED IF YOU VALUE YOUR FREEDOM.

  • What costs the taxpayers money is the doughnut-eating bureaucrats with guns who spend their days detaining, harassing, kidnapping, and locking up nice old ladies who are not hurting anyone.

  • Go protest something that matters, you lazy bums. Too difficult to find a real cause? Hmmm ... my son was killed in Afghanistan three weeks ago today -- there's the war. That makes for a good protest. Or even Global Warming, Illegal Immigration, or Additives in Foods. Protest ANYTHING except this chick Lauren Canario. This video is a joke, right?

  • I am sorry to hear about your son. As far as I am concerned he was a true hero and should always be remembered as such. I have one son that did two tours in Afghanistan and a second son that is headed to Iraq in another month or two. They all deserve our praise for answering the call of their country regardless of how some feel. It is men like our sons that show what Americans are made of.

  • Thank you for your kind words. You must be so proud of your sons! I am too. I wonder how proud the parents of Lauren Canario and her buddies are.
