  • Феноменально!

  • 7 people thought the dislike button said, " DIs I like."

  • epic ending...

  • 8:39 - hot water's ready!

  • That Bari sax solo at the end was annoying, although I'm the the Bari sax players that watched this were impressed. All the other solos, including the previous solo from the Bari sax player, were nothing short of spectacular.

  • OS MELHORES........THE BEST!!

  • scary...

  • 0:50 HIS CHEECKS

  • That Bari player....

  • SICK!!

  • Magnifacent

  • RAAHHTIID!!!! :D YEH!!!

  • That baritone saxophonist knows what and how he's doing. Extremely well, that is. I have played almost every day for several years, still I cannot play half of those altissimo tones, nor can I play a melody with those I do know.

  • is it weird that i can both listen to this and hard dubstep music and still think they're equally amazing like in here i love it when they just do something funky while dubstep gives me a hard bass i crave. Is that weird?

  • @Mardello1 how is that weird?

  • is it wierd that i can both listen to this and hard dubstep music and still think they're equally amazing like in here i love it when they just do something funky while dubstep gives me a hard bass i crave. Is that wierd?

  • Hey I play this is Jazz Band !

  • now thats music man *-*

  • Love the beginning...when he's like...get that sorry music out of here!

  • @jevonj77 Except for that was Bolero, one of the greatest pieces ever written...

  • Why does he puff his cheeks out so much? From what I've been told, you're not supposed to ...

  • @BlakesterMan Thats what hes known for, and also his songs x)

  • @BlakesterMan It happens to some trumpet players sometimes. Muscle tears from the air flow i believe so it does it naturally after that. It takes a long time for it to get like that though (just what I've heard)

  • The baritone saxophonist makes altissimo look easy.

  • Happy Birthday Dizzie...

  • Actually it is in 4/4 time. The song is in the Real Book Sixth Edition

  • @MultiAC130 Yes it is in 4/4. It starts of in a slow moderate 4 then goes into cut time/double time/fast four. I listen to this clip all the time. I love watching and listening to these master of the art give their own personal interpretation of this piece. One can almost live the lives of these men through the feeling and sounds that they produce. Magnificent!!!!

  • 7 people are heartless, cold beings.

  • Ha pink panther like a boss

  • This piece is Absolutely Beautiful as it is.But when two masters of Jazz and Blues,And Experts play it.It just leaves you,Speechless.Amazing Video. :)

  • Does anyone know what the time signature is in the beginning ?

  • @edengrill its in 4/4 bud

  • @Bruizer1995 It's in 6/8 bud.

  • @Bruizer1995 its actually in 4/4. im playing it in my jazz combo

  • I don't think that's Gonzalo Rucalbaca on the piano

  • is it sad that I never get tired of watching this video?

  • @Bruizer1995 if so, then we're sad together. this is one of my favorites. i never tire of it.

  • I didn't know Samuel Jackson played the Bari!!

  • Wish I played this version haha this is awesome

  • this makes me want to pick up my trumpet and practice all day

  • i dont think ive ever seen someone's cheeks that ouffy

  • look at his cheeks

  • View- Mirko Scepanovic A Night In Tunisia

  • mamita querida, agarrensee

  • I know I've heard that exact lick from 5:56 to 6:00 somewhere but I can't figure out where!

  • imba barsax !

  • Only the best can come from dizzy

  • holy shit bari

  • This a great video clip!!! One small correction. That was not Gonzalo on piano, his name is Walter Davis Jr. I love the clip though...

  • I am now calling altissimo...arturssimo

  • These people have some real talent that can never be repeated...

  • Awesome video :D

I would love to play this with them :)

  • holy sweet mother of god arturo...

  • HOLY SHIT

    ALTISSIMO IN A BARI

I SHIT IN MY PANTS o.O

  • Haha, the Bari's ending made my night.

  • The piano player was awesome, besides dizzy arturo and the bari...

    so good.

  • 2:46. Fattest double-high F ever. Woah.

  • eyyyyyyyyy que baritono tan especial como se llama

  • Sayyd Abdul al-Khabbyr is insane.

  • 9:20 WTH!!!!!!!! When did he sneak a Descant Recorder into that bari sax?

  • 1:50 to 2:10

    I shit.

  • Precioso!! Me crie con esto, con la música del trompetista cubano Arturo Sandoval y la forma extraordinaria de improvisar de Dizzy Gillespie!!

    gracias por su música.

José Luis Valenzuela Cerda ( Chile ).

  • It's nice to see an electric bass.

  • Epic bari sax. Crazy running notes Arturo.. Same jazzy Dizzy Gillespie. ;)

  • I wanted to hear more of , Dizzy.

  • 6 people actually disliked this??

  • whats up with the trumpets?

  • @laduzi2 I'm guessing you mean Dizzy's "Bent" trumpet. It was an accident because someone sat on his trumpet. But he liked the change in the tone and the comfort of playing so he had his other trumpets made like that.

  • @The83rdTrombonist ok thanks.

  • BARI IS SUCH A BEAST!!!!!!!

  • Ok I play Bari and that altissimo sounded straight up like a trumpet WDF!!!!

  • Ok Arturo we get it, your the son of flash calm down. He had a free show down the street from my house and I missed :(

  • I almost peed myself laughing at 2:41 haha

  • @2011vikestrumpetking may i ask why?

  • @TheTimPelltier you play that high and then contrast it how Sandoval does.

  • What's the song Sayyd is playing in the beginning? I forget the name.

  • That pianist threw an OP Lick in there 5:53-5:57

  • The people who pressed the unlike button is crazy

  • It takes skilled ears to listen to complex music

  • al-Khabbyr's last solo

    SO FREAKING FANTASTIC

  • @musicgod2012 I actually think both of his solos are hard to listen to. I don't like the sound of the bari up that high. To me it sounds like a dying cat

  • @TheTimPelltier Sure haha. Personally I think he's just having way too much fun. But everything wasn't altissississimo wasn't bad you have to admit right?

  • @ddmento yea i agree that it wasn't bad cept for all that screaming and such

  • This isn't real music. You guys need to go listen to some Metallica

  • @drummerjmp OK first off, anything with notes is music...the wind blowing in the wind, is music. So your statement isnt correct. but most importantly Metallica can't even compare to how much talent this takes to do

  • @TheTimPelltier that's right! :D (greetings from Mexico)

  • @TheTimPelltier True that. I would know because I suffered the hard work of jazz and learning the scales.

  • @drummerjmp Metallica didn't alone make a new sub genre of music like Dizzy. Her name was Bebop. And quit trolling we all have different tastes in music. All different types of music have haves and have not. Lastly it is music , music is just a controlled and organized pattern of sound; organized noise.

  • how de hell he goin so high on a fricken bari?!

  • Since everyone's raving about Sayyd, I suggest everyone looks up Ronnie Cuber, Dennis DiBlasio, Gary Smulyan, Nick Brignola, Gerry Mulligan, Art Pepper, and Harry Carney, just to name a few greats on the Bari.

  • I love this 12/8 feel

  • @sardines007 acctually theres this and Manteca (part 1 & 2) and thats it sadly

  • Does any one knows the link to the rest of the concert?

  • Freakishly good bari player! Thanks for posting

  • 6 people forgot their quarter for the small movie

  • I like the way he jive walks off stage after the pink panther theme

  • That bari is inhuman...

  • @Cubano418 Sayyd Abdul al-Khabbyr

  • All those interest in bari sax - find Denis DiBlasio. In many circles, considered one of the best in the world on baritone sax... but also a scatter of perfection. He was Maynard Ferguson's music director for years - video's are here in You Tube... checkout the ones with Maynard first.

  • Who's that on piano?

  • @twearden Is that maybe Walter Bishop?

  • @rexydad No, it's Walter Davis, Jr.

  • @LinnieK9 I knew it was Walter something.

  • @rexydad Both Walters were jazz pianists.

  • Ah yes thank you very much!

  • his nose dissapears when he puffes his cheeks

  • you can't do that on a bari?! well, damn he just did. and arturo and dizzy as mind exploding as usual.

  • Dizzy is just an awesome guy all the way around!

  • Dose anyone have a link to the Pink Panther(i think!?) theme the sax player started playing at the end? sounded like it was gonna be gooood :)

  • That's me at 8:53

  • dear god starting at 8:00 this thing gets so beautiful... esp the bari quote at the end!

  • cheeks

  • Seeing as he's quite amazing, it doesn't matter much, but why does he allow his cheeks to poof out like that?

  • @calarooni He had a condition where the skin of his cheeks separated from his muscles. His cheeks gradually starting poofing more as he got older. It wasn't like he was actually pushing his cheeks out, it just happened when he played.

  • @calarooni from what i've heard it's not that he LET them puff out, it's that he had some kind of damage in his neck/cheeks which made that happen. Not a lack of technique.

  • GOOSEBUMPS THE WHOLE WAY THROUGH!!!

  • i gotta get a trynpet like thats

  • This is one of those performances I'll remember the rest of my life even if I live to 100, being it's the first time I'd ever heard Arturo Sandoval. Heard it first around 1985 on Maryland Public TV.

  • OMG, his cheeks??

  • hahaha i didn't see that pink panther theme coming.. I love the way he dances afterward too :D

  • I watched this video so many times that i forgot what a normal trumpet looked like

  • heyyy... dont knock out the clarinet player! i play clarinet! XD lol

  • I think the best part starts at around 8:00 haha

  • Remarkable, outstanding, brilliant, out of this world, fabulous all of them! An incredible array of musicians and especially the Baritone player: out of this world! We miss Dizzy a lot and he created, mentored and left an incredible bebop legacy! As he said: to be or not to bop and here it can hardly get better than that: Enjoy!! BPG

  • Simply a glorious art form, performed by two magnificent artists

  • por que no le gusta a 5 personajes?

  • dizzy the bullfrog

  • Fantastic! Thanks for posting. Very informative!

  • The bari..clarinet player is

    Sayyd Abdul.......nuff said

  • who's the name of the guy who play Ravel's Bolero?

  • @ivansamudra8000 Sayyd Abdul al-Khabbyr. He's quite remarkable on these sessions.

  • @LinnieK9 thank you :) yes he's remarkable

  • @LinnieK9 Bari!!!!!!Man!!!!!

  • Sayyd Abdul al-Khabbyr could play any tenor part any day on that bari. Simply astounding.

  • pufferfish @ 0:40

if it wasn't for his amazing trumpet skills, i would have LAUGHED LIKE HELL.

  • he must have stuffed apples in his cheeks when he was a child.

  • @uthspawn12 no way, he must have had chestnuts in his hands

  • omg his cheeks

  • 5 people don't have the funk.

  • at around 2:45 whats the highest note arturo played?

  • @L3giiit He hits a few his A's (talking concert pitch here) first, then he goes above that from a hi Bb up to an Eb (a Perfect 4th above the Bb) which is the 5th to the root of Eb dom 7th chord in that part of the tune. I was fortunate to play a concert with Arturo. I also met/warmed up for Dizzy in the Syracuse, NY JazzFest before he passed. Great trumpet players both.

  • Comment removed

  • algun dia.. !tocare como arturo sandoval! que ademas de hacer unos super agudos.

    toca la trompeta con sentimiento.........

  • Arturo Sandoval is just incredible. I had dinner with him the other day after a concert, and he's got a great sense of humor and an insane passion for music. I have so much respect for that man.

  • WOW! i always thought jazz was just a lot of guys playing different songs at the same time...

  • 3:21

  • Arturo is a MONSTER!!!

  • @quicktolisten I think he was just playing around because he hit such a freaky high note for a bari player.

  • Why can't I find anything more on this bari player anywhere? Anyone know anything about him?

  • @LonelyPker he played alittle with charles mingus if that helps

  • Class act. Such excellence is a credit to the Cuban culture. How rare to have this coming out of Castro Land which is a repressed environment. Yet two legends working together makes this video even more special. Wow! Awesome.

  • Yea!..Greg Givens,(a trumpet player) ,might like this..

I know I do as a baritone sax player..honk on brother..

Arturo plying super "C's" and "G's" like they were nothing..

  • I totally dig the Bari player. He has a wonderful farty tone and his "freak" register is almost beyond belief!

  • dude look at his cheeks.

  • i love the look on the piano player face when he starts his solo its like YUP MY TURN!!!!

  • q fea cara pone
