  • 7.5 mbps in tucson. Tmobile g2

  • Im getting 5mb/s on my nexus S 4g from sprint in Downtown Detroit

  • Meant to say "shitty area"

  • That's not 4g on the g2 I have the mytouch 4g and my speeds r faster than sprints I hit 8.9mbps so either thats a shitty or its on 3g u really can't tell anyway

  • thats slow.. my 3G on verizon ran 2575 down and 926 up... and on lte i got 41049 down and 7283 up SUPER FAST LTE

  • How u do a test when you don't know if the g2x was connected to 4g..

  • Evo is way better always will be...

  • T-mobile has nothing "4g" hspa+ is enhAnced 3g and 1-7 kbs is nowere near true 4g speeds

  • International Mobile Telecommunications Advanced requirements for 4G standards, setting peak speed requirements for 4G service at 100 Mbit/s for high mobility communication (such as from trains and cars) and 1 Gbit/s for low mobility communication (such as pedestrians and stationary users).

All of them cell providers are lying to us.

  • Your not in a t mobile 4g area cmon man

  • these company claiming they got 4g speed but they really dont, internatinal standard says 4G are from 10-100Mbp the 4g tmobile and most of these company claim are a gimmick, basically they are robbing people!!

  • @trilingualkid Wrong! The ITU said these count as 4G back in December.

  • @freakylocz14 who is ITU? i'm going by what the IEEE says not some nobody that doesnt count

  • @trilingualkid The ITU is the international organization that certifies what is 3G and what is 4G.

  • @freakylocz14 hmmm i coulda sworn that IEEE are the one that comes out with the standard for what 4G suppose to be

  • @freakylocz14 count as Pre-4G technologies.

  • @alexyakeka The ITU changed the definition to allow them to be legitimately marketed as 4G, and count as starter 4G technologies. There are various 3G techs as well as there will be better 4G techs later.

  • I don't think the server you are choosing is the best. Cell phone's are not like a hardline internet connection. The test servers don't go off of where you are at. The server depends on where the IP address is.

  • verizon 4g lte has no more than to much people on it so it goes 25mbps and i got the air card for 4g on sprint and it went 30 mbps witch is y 4g is fast

  • my evo never gets speeds like that in jacksonville. its constantly handing off back to 3g wich causes it to hang...my 3g speeds are never over 1 mbps. i switched to the galaxy s 4g and my speeds are consistent at around 5mbps, even indoors. also battery life is much better, its a slightly larger battery but i think the big difference comes from not running a seperate radio. i think sprint gave up on their wimax buildout in jax, as its not improved in the 8 months ive been using it. what a shame.

  • u can find out pretty easy if ur on hspa+ or hsdpa (3g).. go to settings>about phone>status>mobile network type. it will says hsdpa (3g) or hspa+ if u got there 4g or whatever u people wanna call it. i can tell u right now u werent running hspa+. ive seen speed test on the g2 pass that up like nothing but the evo did great to bad the battery sucks so bad when on 4g that u probably wont make it through half the day lol

  • @Metalfreak760 it will say hspa+? my mytouch 4g has never said that o.O

  • I got 8.1 down and 1 up on my EPIC 4G.

  • Professionally done. EVO rapes.

  • your an idiot, hspa+ didnt launch till november 4,go back and get the job done right!

  • Cant wait for Verizon LTE phones to kick sprint and t mobile’s butts!!! Hope Iphone doesn’t become LTE compatible for a while…I don’t want yall apple fan boys clogging up my network!!!!!!!! Also, android is better…deal with it!

  • @latimer719 lol, word!

  • @latimer719 Correction: verizon lte is fast but sprint is faster and better

  • I can get over 5000kbps on a vibrant, why would I need to get a g2?

  • tmobile G2 is not an HSPA+ phone

  • the evo does excell at these speed test even against sprints other 4g phone i avg about 4200kbs everywhere 4g.in t mobiles defense there lte network is larger in the los angeles area i live in.

  • @tingokuman lte is for verizon not tmobile. just thought i point that out

  • I have G2 and in my office i can watch a youtube video in 3 seconds, it doesn't matter what the speeds are if you need faster than 3 seconds than you are too impatient

  • ok the wimax network maxes out at 7.2 mbps so hitting 7.9 shows your retarded ass was on wifi now how bout you actually do a fair test and prove the g2 is a superior data phone to the power hungry peice of shit that is the evo

  • @elijahjohns1 wtf are u stupid or what the wimax network does not max out at 7.2mbps go on Sprint website and u will see it maxes out pass 10mbs dumbass and the indicator says 4g you fucking troll go back to your crappy ass tmobile network

  • @elijahjohns1

thats funny dumbass he didnt even have the wifi on.

  • @mecimessiah LMFAO!!!! WTF...and he's the dumb ass???

  • @Drop35235

yeah retard. reading is key, he claims he was on wifi but it clearly shows in the video he only had the 4g antenna on.

  • wow The EVO Murdered the G2...

  • WiMax > HSPA+

  • T-Mobile didn't officially get it's HSPA+ running until November so this was 3G vs 4G. I have seen T-Mobile HSPA+ go as high as 12mbps on download speed, and 5.5mbps on upload speed. It truly is dominating everyone else lol.

  • Try streaming music using 4G in a car or train. Handoff is rough with WiMAX. Also, try Sprint 3G in NYC in daylight hours. Speeds are less than 300kbps, sometimes too bad to stream music.

  • Your still doing it wrong, turn your GPS on and wait till it locks on. Trust me. And the H stands for hspa+ available.

  • You can tell the difference by going into the settings and then going down to about phone and the clicking network and if it says umts that is regular 3G and if it says hsdpa that means hspa/hspa+

  • That was not a 4G test on TMobile. 4G is still to come. You actually tested 3G for TMobile. Although the phone is a 4G phone the network was not

  • DAAAAAMN!!!! Sprint 4g kicks t mobile HSPA+

damn it!!! I got my my touch 4g but sprint plans are really expensive =/ i love sprint speed network

  • @diegodeath88 sprint plans cost just as much as a tmobile plan...

  • @jcp2k I am a T-mobile sales rep and we are on average $10 a month cheaper sometimes more. Especially once you start getting into the full unlimited individual and family plans. Not trying to argue just stating the facts.

  • @rextuner03 you guys both offer unlimited for 69 bucks its pretty close to being the same i have both and for now im using sprint more often and the only thing you guys beat sprint at is the family plans you beat them by a good margin

  • @jcp2k Yeah on the family plans there really is no competition. Sprint is a good company I can't say anything bad about them just that we are better that's all lol. I mean 9 years of being in the top 50 companies in the world to work for AND the last 2 years in a row voted the most ethical company in the world. It's awesome to be a part of that.

  • Sprint limits the 4G phones to 1Mb upload speed, hence the jumping around of the bench. You had 2 of 3 bars as well. I've found that if you tether the phone to a laptop, you will find much better speeds. I've got over 13Mbs down w/ 2 bars of service on my Epic

  • Also not on a freshly booted phone and my uploads are around 600k. Running Android 2.1.

  • These speeds on the G2 aren't that great but try a different area Im getting 3600k In Columbus Ohio on The samsung vibrant. Plus Sprint's 4g speeds are in very select locations.

  • @killertomcat Sprint's 4G service is in ~20 more cities than they list. It's been all over FL for several months now, yet they still say both on Clear and Sprint's site that it's 'Not Available'. I get 13Mb via Sprint 4G in a city that isn't listed as available or even coming soon.

  • take off that beggining sound, fucking scaryt

  • sprint raped.

  • T-Mobile and Sprint's networks are not as reliable as AT&T and Verizon. Its a fact. Investigate people!

  • @VivaLaBamEpisodes WTF?! AT&T is the worst one, dropped calls, i never had a droppped call of having Tmo for 6 years, "Investigate" RETARD!

  • @gk3og Varies per area, but T-Mobile blows here. There's a reason they are the #4 carrier. VERIZON = #1, AT&T = #2, SPRINT = #3

  • @jrjr9292 are you serious? or just retarded?

  • The Evo 4G is hardware limited to upload speeds of 1Mbps (1085kbps) so you will never see faster upload speeds. WiMAX 1.0 is capable of a bit faster but Sprint limited it to keep the load off the network. Also, WiMAX 2.0, currently awaiting approval from the IEEE can reach over 100Mbps real world speeds. These tests will be outdone in a matter of a year or so when LTEadv and WiMAX2 are released.

  • I've touched 11mbps on Sprint 4G in York, Pennsylvania

  • Sprints 4G kills Tmobile across the board.

On top of that the 3G coverage alone kills Tmobile.

Tmobile = joke. Get with the program - go with Sprint.

  • @kismo24 have you used a tmobile 3g phone or a tmobile 4g phone?

  • G2 is getting 15Mbps in Camarillo and Thousand Oaks, CA where I live.

  • ok with tmobiles network you need to use the closest server for example i get an ip address in atlanta yet I'm in ohio so you should either use the one it selects for you or the fastest in general idk something like atlanta or washington dc try doing the test on different servers

  • @tuff everybody keep talking this and that about the g2 speeds with no proof, every video i seen just like this one,the g2 got its boots smoked so quit all these storys with no proof to back it up,oh my g2 scored 12 down, stop the lies!!!

  • @jrollj, the g2 is the fastest phone in the world right now bud, the web page load and app downloads blows evo into thedust home scrolling and app drawer also destroy evo, so evo spirit denied?!

  • Comment removed

  • dam the evo crushed the g2 teamevo go sprint!!!

  • I hit 8.10Mbps on T-Mobile's HSPA+ in Cincinnati ... not sure what's going on in Charlotte?

  • Sprint all day baby.

  • Go Sprint.

  • ITS OVER 9000!!! xD

  • Some people got 10mbps in Miami on T-Mobile. That's fast enough for me. I have a tablet, laptop and desktop to get internet on and do what I need to. People want all this speed like they're going to be downloading stuff like they would on computers. This is just my opinion and my satisfaction in the G2....

  • @bibbs2014d LTE will not fail. That is the international standard for 4G. Sprint hasn't favored out LTE. Actually Sprint may chose TD-LTE which can work with WiMAX together. Hopefully WiMAX 2 will be the standard and will be released in America soon. Anvanced LTE is a few years out, WiMAX 2 is here already. Side note, LTE penetrates better than WiMAX due to lower frequencies. VZW's 3G is EvDO rA which is faster than T-Mobiles 2G (EDGE). Way faster.

  • @bibbs2014d HSPA+ is 3G that can reach 4G speeds. T-Mobile's HSPA+ data runs parallel to their GSM networks. That means less congestion and dedicated data for T-Mobile's HSPA+. WiMAX and LTE are the only 4G networks in North America. Can't wait for WiMAX 2 and TD-LTE. Speeds of 300 plus Mbps. I would say average real world speeds should be 180 Mbps plus. Sprint FTW!!!!! Lol.

  • Yeah the Evo seems to be better

  • you guys are comparing things like a new guy boxer to someone thats won the title.. give hspa+ time to get started.... 4g from sprint has been out for a min now.

  • @sygbmx1 HSPA+ is still 3G that can achieve 4G speeds. T-Mobile needs more bandwidth to acomplish faster speeds. T-Mobile is using HSPA+ correctly. Parallel too their GSM network and have it connected to a T3 I believe. They just need to open up their pipes. That's why T-Mobile is looking bidding in Clear's silent auction. Only if T-mo had it hooked up to fiber ops. Geez, 4G speeds all day.

  • I got like 40 messages in my inbox from all these crybabbies. I can't help it sprint 4g is better. the g2 is just slow and hspa+ isn't all that great(go check tmobile g2 forums.....go......go) I'm just going by what they said. crybabbies

  • can anyone help me whats the different between hspa and hsdpa ? anyway can help me with this

  • @tomyloveu UTMS is the 3G network, HDSPA gives about 3.5G speeds, and HSPA+ gives you access to 4G speeds.

  • @OMaRdaBoMB69 thx for the help

  • on t-mobile G2 go into settings then about phone, and go into status then scroll to where it says mobile network type. if it says hsdpa then u are covered by t-mo's "4g" speeds. if it says UMTS then that is 3g.

  • Come on everybody has wifi now

  • I think the comparison is kind of silly. The speeds your getting on HSDPA+ are far faster then your average 3G speeds on most carriers. Things like ping time make a huge difference also. Anything over 1m downloading on a phone is not going to make much difference in how fast pages load or streaming on things like Pandora or Rhapsody. Once you hit those speeds I am far more interested in coverage and battery life. I own both an EVO and G2. I love the EVO but what good is 4g with a dead battery?

  • sprint+Evo = Power

  • @ivanhoustan100 Please get a mind because you are probably the one getting the crapy speeds, so maybe if i have the G2 and it is loading faster than my old EVO, then you know what i am doing! So, please think before you talk!

  • I had the same results with the g2 and the evo here in houston TX check out my video

  • As fast wimax is, it's a fail IMO, I have a Epic 4g and I don't even bother with 4g ,cause of the fact that you literally get 3-4 hrs of batterylife with it on, it's just pointless and a waste of money and space.

the G2 OTOH according to reviews so far is said to have the best battery-life of any Android phone released in 2010, which is probably more due to the processor and S-LCD screen, but it also shows that the HSDPA+ chip isn't draining the battery like WiMAX.

  • @tarunrad Wrong I have the Epic 4g and lets just say I get atleast 12+ hours with 4g turned on and hspa+ gets smoked by wimax my 9.2mbs proves just that! The Epic 4g is the best phone available at the moment 2 btw the g2 is not even in the top 5

  • @truestory2006 LOL how does 14mbps gets smoke by 9mbps?

  • @truestory2006 btw G2 has the best battery life on any android device as of today sorry but your epic 4g fails on battery with the G2 new battery saver chip and processor

  • Hmmm I don't know why but my nexus one on T-Mobile's network where hspa+ is not light up yet got 6mbs+ down and .7 mbs up keep in mind the nexus one is rooted and is not a hspa+capable device.

  • why is upload so low on sprint but higher on tmo it makes no sense

  • Disappointing, but until t-mobile gets some type of destinction between HSPA and HSPA+ we wont really be able to get an accurate HSPA+ speed test. Oh well, if data speeds were really that big of a deal I would probably go with Sprint, but I'll be sticking with T-mobile.

  • @infin1ty /watch?v=Odb6JjBFKgY

  • @infin1ty What about phones or service? Sprint kills tmobile there as well... most people even save money switching from tmobile to Sprint cuz the plans are better!!!

  • @truestory2006 no i had sprint is the worst service there is and G2 can get up 14 mbps the highest ive seen is 11 sprint cant top that

  • @dragonballzfan809 yo songuku watch this, watch?v=gier-Ba1CTA

  • @USConnexion ok just 12 vs 14 tmo still better and those with 20mbps where on wifi just to let yu know it had the wifi sign but the 12 was on the network

  • @dragonballzfan809 lol show me the-teen mobile 14 mbps sangoku, show me a video to prove it, i don't need just numbers

  • @USConnexion I will I already got my G2 but I live in a dead spot I got only edge but later at my dads house ill record a video I got 3g over there and hspa+ and this is just the beginning cuz tmo said the max speed will b 21 mbps sprint crappy service will never get close to that lmao

  • @dragonballzfan809 4 now sprint is the best

  • @USConnexion yea I can't argue that untill tmo fixes their shit sprint is the best, I got 11 tho on hspa+ but I'm gonna make a video later showin the results

  • @USConnexion just to let yu know callin me sangoku is a compliment as a dragon ball fan I am thnx for that lol

  • @dragonballzfan809 i know this is why i'm callin you sangoku

  • @USConnexion lmao iight dragonball z FTW

  • yeah tmobile was doing all that talk about sprint and now they getting their as kicked. At first I was thinking of going to sprint because of the evo.......looks like it's still going to be sprint lol. Plus tmobile only have 1 "good" phone. I'll be with sprint by the end of the month. srry tmobile

  • @uniqueCD4ya did yu not see the upload it was so slow on sprint jajaja yu got owned

  • @uniqueCD4ya /watch?v=Odb6JjBFKgY this is why yu need to shut the fuck up now wat r yu gonna say LOL G2 got 10 mbps on that video i gave yu now wat??? any more excuses for bashing tmo LMAOOO yu are so laughable

  • @uniqueCD4ya the fastest speed on any mobile phone on the USA take that sprint >>>>>>>>>> /watch?v=Odb6JjBFKgY

  • @uniqueCD4ya ok so yu was gonna go with sprint now that yu saw tmo is the fastest wat???? still goin to sprint like a sprint fanboy yu r hopin they top tmo speed am i right?

  • @uniqueCD4ya like fuckin relax its a new thing and needs time for adjustments

  • @uniqueCD4ya btw this why yu dont go running your mouth on things especially wen they are new, yu ran your mouth way too much sir, all G2 videos yu were bashing the poor phone and tmo, but i guess yu learned your lesson, a smart person waits and see but no yu decided to go all out and bash the phone and for wat so yu have to take al that shit yu said bak SMH i really hope yu learn your lesson

  • Hey, can anyone explain to me what this test proves and how it matters? :)

I downloaded the app on my phone and was at 6439Kbps Down, and 566Kbps Up. Xperia X10 Mini, I am sure my phone is no benchmark for speed and stuff, but is this horrrrrrible results or good? and again what does it matter.. Lol.

    Thanks :)

  • @KittyGetAway /watch?v=Odb6JjBFKgY this video is to prove tmo superiority wen to speed it comes sprint is very laughable at these result not even close to tmo speed lol i knew hspa+ would get fix and there it is

  • Evo killed the g2 in the speed test! back to the drawing board tmobile!

  • @truestory2006 no it didnt kill no one lol>>>>> /watch?v=Odb6JjBFKgY

  • XD and this is why im switching to sprint on December 19th

  • @FantomLightning best move you'll ever make

  • @hurricanegame73 I know i did the whole 30 day trial just to check it out i loved them i couldnt afford it but now ill be able to

  • horrible speeds

  • EVO ftw

  • i get 13 mbps with my G2 in Minneapolis

  • @Simer1003 Post a video bro! I wanna see!

  • @Simer1003 please post a video please if true all these hater would need to take all their shit bak

  • My Moto Cliq is faster than G2? watch?v=VHjPHxDdR2M

  • disappointing speed (G2)....upload speed is definitely capped around 1300 mpbs just like Nexus One...my old windows mobile phone can do better than that.

  • the g2 sucks balls i was at tmobile today they open one out the box it broke in half first slide lamo the speeds are gabage the keyboard is reathl nice best keyboard i ever used the vibrant kills it all day

  • @zachkevinandlos18 Are u serious? I would laughed my ass right out the store!

  • @truestory2006 i did but i got my samsung vibrant and bounced cause the dude like get the g2 i was like ok can see one so the manager came he was i got one out the box it broke on first slide he showed me it i was laughing hard so i said ill get the vibrant fuck that shitty phone

  • @zachkevinandlos18 Bullshit. you think people are too dumb to realized youre either biased or u are sent here to downgrade HTC phones. Youll have to do a little better than that samsung boy. smh.

  • @zachkevinandlos18 yu just made that up LMAO it was a funny joke tho

  • @dragonballzfan809 dude im serious i live in cleveland i went t mobile they said get the g2 you will be the first one with it so i said show me one so the manager went to get one he open one and he came to let me see it he said it broke when he slide it open i got the vibrant instead i love htc phones but that was there worst quallity built phone look on google and type g2 problems low memory poor sliding mechanism just a phone they built to quick

  • @zachkevinandlos18 thats defect phones a perfect condition G2 is the best built device htc couldve done, every phone including the vibrant gets defects

  • what camera are you using?

  • ive been all over the south and midwest with my brother who had tmo but he got tired of not having service so he moved to sprint. sprint is no 2 as far as coverage. with wimax 2 in a couple years these speeds will be laughable

  • @TheAngryJello Are you crazy, dude T-Mobile maps are full and are 10 times better than Sprint map, i am on Verizon Wireless, so i really do not care, but T-Mobile is still better trust me, i had T-Mobile, but once the Droid came out i got that for Verizon, and by the way i had Sprint 4 years ago, and it is the worst thing that i had ever had in my life! Not trying to be mean, just saying T-Mobile is better than Sprint because that is the truth, ask anybody who lives near east or south, or mid US

  • @ivanhouston100 Sprint is the most losing company ever, they make terrible things, so i would be quiet because in my are T-Mobile is better than Sprint and i am sure is so the rest of the country. Sprint sucks!

  • @MrZayd98 bro, sprint has better coverage than t-mo. Take a look at the coverage maps! First tmo doesn't show the data maps (they are pathetic) and they don't even cover Alaska, puerto rico, or Hawaii where as sprint does. Sprint coverage isn't much better but better than t-mo. So really what you want is VZ! VZW FTW!

  • @MrZayd98 yea and the fact that they keep buyin these smaller company with customers in them already to beat tmobile LOL they cheat thats why they got 15,000 more customers cuz they buy ppl LMAOOO

  • @MrZayd98 you must be stupid i left teen mobile for sprint and im glad i did....im gettin the fastest download speeds ever, so fuck you and your terrible mobile service. You t mobile fans cant talk shit on this post just look at the video and shut the fuck up

  • @ivanhouston100 yu need to shut the fuck up bitch first of i had sprint and it was the worst phone company ive ever had terrible service terrible phones tmo excellent service for cheaper and better phones so shut up, yu sprint fans got so much shit to talk about SMH

  • @ivanhouston100 Same goes for you. you think people are too stupid to realize that you are not a person with a legitimate unbiased opinion. lol. youre here to support sprint of course. So youre opinion means nothing.

  • watching this video 2x speed its fun

  • sprint is killing it

  • Sprint killing them boys...fuck t mobile

  • on the mytouch slide i get 6 mbs in nyc

  • which phone would you prefer overall?

  • @iamIegend HTC Evo
