  • I’m kind of surprised that those girls all went kind of wild when they saw ‘Robin’ arrived; usually it's ‘Batman’ he gets all of the glory and attention.

  • Why is it the batpoles sometimes have their names on them, and sometimes they don't?

  • I absolutely love how, in his very first scene, Joker's already playing up the system's inherent corruption to "spring" himself off of custody. Did you see Nicholson's Joker use Gotham's corruption to his advantage? I sure didn't. Those cops were merely lazy, not sleazy.

If there are no references to Joker playing baseball in Dark Knight Rises, I'll make a sad face.

  • My very favorite episode.

  • Silly warden and cop. Criminals never reform when they are enemies of Batman.

  • Ceaser Romero rocked as the Joker!

  • Fuck anyone who doesnt like this show

  • the bat car has a registration plate. cant they track him by going to DMV :P

  • im more of a gamer than a t.v. watcher but damn this show is good as hell

  • Aaaaah, Robin was so GAY! And his name... Dick, it explains by itself, even the music was crappy for the 60's, a good ol' fashioned Rock'n'Roll would have been beter, even Surfing Bird would have been better than that, so, this serie was crappy, no excuses for that, even the joker sucked and it is my favourite character of the comic and the films...

  • @Tableuraz yeah but he's a good piano player

  • @Eleanorminblack At least...

  • @Tableuraz Oh, be nice!

  • @SuperWolsey I'm never nice but I grant that I was a little bit too far ;-)

But this serie was not that great XD

  • @Tableuraz Neither is any of the films (Yes, including Nolan to a minor extent), but that doesnt stop anyone from enjoying it.

Furthermore, never, and I do mean, NEVER diss the incidental music of Nelson Riddle! Immature prat

  • @Tableuraz Dick is a nickname for Richard. It wasn't referring to a penis.

  • I just wish they would put batman and robin back on TV, this was my favorite show as a kid and still is at age 32.

  • @anthemsguy2008 It is on T.V. a channel called Hub. But its on like at 3:00 in the morning everyday i think

  • @metrangerfan711 That's why I never see it, I don't get that station here where I live.

  • An absolute mystery is a truth whose existence or possibility could not be discovered by a creature, and whose essence can be expressed by the finite mind only in terms of analogy, e.g., the Trinity. A relative mystery is a truth whose innermost nature alone, or whose existence alone, exceeds the natural knowing power of the creature. McHugh, John. "Mystery." The Catholic Encyclopedia. Vol. 10. New York: Robert Appleton Company, 1911. 29 Jun. 2011. (HPY 1115) a clue?

  • i have the movie ! its awesome !

  • The original Joker (this guy) didn't wear makeup. He fell into a vat of chemicals while robbing a playing card company, and came out looking that way.

  • thx for puting this up its great!!!

  • did u see dicks 'pole'

  • @stanbrekston its a rather big pole

  • no one has ever looked more like a cop than Chief O'Hara (Stafford Repp) in that uniform and hat.. it looks like he was born with that outfit! lol

  • If I ever go to jail I'm trying that!

  • Comment removed

  • @sementalimplacable69 I'll play it by myself in the cafeteria if I have to.

  • I love how the prison allows Joker to still wear his facepaint

  • @DLongmuir16 Of course in the comics, that's not face paint. I don't know if it was on the show.

  • Check out 0:35! The Joker just loves old-fashioned baseball!

  • Loved Jack & Heath's take of the Joker character, they both put their own impression & style into the part - sign of true gifted actors! But, there's only one actor who this role was made for & who was able to bring this colorfully insane persona to life, that was Cesar Romero!

  • I'm sorry but I just can't look at their poles without laughing! Why is Dick's smaller? More importantly, why are they labled....?

  • Cesar Romero is the best Joker ever!

  • @AIDSfeyenooitHIV I agree with you on that. long before Heath Ledger's oscar winning version in The Dark Knight & The nightmarish Jack Nicholson version in the first Batman movie.

  • has anyone noticed that the last word in the names of these two part episodes rhyme i just realized that when i was lookin at a list of episodes

  • This is the 12th or 13th time for me watching this episode, in the last 2 years, plus I watched it when it was new, 1966. So great, even after all these years.

  • I dont get how some people can dislike this show! Its hilarious, just go with it and you're in for a great time! Back when times were simpler and you could have two very close men fighting clowns in tights, and not be called "Gay". :)

  • Aunt Harriet is a fifth wheel

  • Ya know... Everytime when Gordon calls for Batman using the Batphone, and Alfred picks up and answers, shouldn't Gordon wonder who was that on the phone even though they know Alfred's voice...

  • @AnimeCTCFirebird

There have been a couple of episodes where Gordon has noted the peculiar similarites between Alfred's voice and the mysterious voice on the hotline... *lol*

  • @Bobzeaux Gosh, yes. You're right! But he coudla figure it by now LOL Its not like there was a voice changer

  • i really enjoy watching this on here- just good old-fashioned superhero fun!

  • @moonblossom15

I sometimes watch an episode still. It is just a great, fun show.

  • Why the hell would they put the joker in a hall of fame anyway? He's a supervillian for god's sake.

  • This is the ultimate joker! Jack Nicholson's is way over-the-top, Heath Ledger's probably the best but too scary, Mark Hamill's is good but too feminine, yet, the one Joker they are all compared to, is this one.. holy Cesar Romero, Batman!

  • @DemiathDoomhammer

too feminine really? Mark was the best.

  • i cant belive i find it so funny that hes name is "dick"

  • Ceaser Romero is The Best Joker of all time. He put alot of energy in The Sinister Crimes. The Laughter was so in sync and his timing was above Average.

  • "I Took Gotham's White Knight...And Brought Him Down To Our Level. It wasn't hard. See Madness, As You Know, Is Like Gravity; All It Takes Is A Little..Push! Hahahahahaha!" -Heath Ledger R.I.P.

  • @lonelyuchiha2 "Let's put a smile on that face."

  • 3:23 you think Batman's a fan of Lennon?

  • No one could play the Joker like Cesar Romero.

  • True. Cesar captured the essence of the 1960's Joker.

  • @xtracool32 i really hope that was a joke.

  • @xtracool32 His laugh is stunningly perfect!

  • The Joker was the only villian I knew of until I was in fifth grade

  • Are you listening out there, Fatman and Boy Blunder?

  • You see madness is like gravity. All you need is a little PUSH! HAHAHAHAHA.

  • I'm like a dog chasing cars. I wouldn't know what to do with one if I actually caught it... I'd just... Do things.

  • THIS SHOW FUCKING ROCKS

  • the joker is the best and always will be.

  • Mark Hamil is a true Batman fanatic, he is absolutely wonderful as the voice of the Joker. Just as Kevin Conroy is superb as the voice of Batman in all the animated Batman shows.

  • 4:20 LOL DICK POLE

  • Cesar Romero's laugh as The Joker was scary enough. At least on this episode he didn't have that "grandma like" hair he has on the ones that came later. He was perfect in the role of this character too.

  • At least The Joker was wearing prison issued clothes. Some episodes have the criminals, like Catwoman, in their regular outfits. And why does Catwoman end up in a prison with men? lol.

  • I found something out about Burt Ward (Robin):

After the end of Batman, Ward found himself hard-pressed to find other acting jobs. He re-emerged to act in more than 30 obscure made-for-television and softcore porn films such as Virgin High.

    Damn Robin...

  • Oh my! I would sell my soul to see Virgin High 8D

  • Haha

    "Holy first time fantasies!"

  • Some of the stuff in this show is so stupid its ingenious. Gotta love Bruce's nonsensical world peace lectures.

  • For their eras as Joker They were the best

    ceasar Romero- 60s

    jack Nickolsen - 80s

    Heath ledger -2000's

  • why must every one forget Mark Hamil of the 90s?

  • These are the movie Jokers not the animated ones. BUT IF Mark Hamill played the Joker in a movie, he would be an excellent pick.

  • I think his performance is good enough to get up there anyways, besides there was a BTAS movie with him in it iirc.

  • soz i didn't look far enough down, yeah mark hamill would amke a greta movie joker lol

  • i thik mark hamill deserves a mention in jokers. He does an amzing voice for the character

  • @NETWORK23STUDIOS

um you forgot Mark Hamil. 90's threw present

  • R.I.P: Cesar Romaro the second best Joker 15th February 1907-1st January1994 A great Joker like Jack Nicholson(1937-present day) Mark Hamill aka Luke Skywalker (1951 - present day) and Heath Ledger (4th April 1979- 22nd January 2008) R.I.P The 1st Joker.

  • This is the best episode in the entire TV series, in my opinion. Romero was an awesome Joker.

  • yeah but heath ledger was the best

  • I respectfully disagree.

  • heath ledger looked the craziest and he was rly evil but then again we dont know his true talent since he is dead and never did a show. R.I.P. heath ledger :(

  • i want a spring like that to my yard lmao

  • "Come on Robin, we've got a date at the Gothom Museum."

  • Seriously! What's with all the labels in the Batcave and the villains hideouts?! Dick needs to calm down whenever Bruce suggests some "guardian/ward" bonding, especially around his aunt. And really? An aunt to make them NOT look gay? Please. I don't know how people took this seriously in the '60s, but I find it humorous at times.

  • It wasn't meant to be taken seriously, at least not by adults, who presumably could recognize lampoonery when they saw it, and many of whom were old enough to remember the two Batman serials of the 1940's, which the 1966 show parodied.

The excessive tags and labels are a direct spoof of those early Batman serials, which often featured an obvious label on an obviously obscure device.

It's all in fun, and shouldn't be taken seriously.

  • its ok cause its a kids show and most kids dont recongnize the gay stuff...but i guess part of is their huge age differences, i mean bruce could easily be dicks father

  • I don't get why people are bothered by this show. I remember watching it on tv when I was young and it still is epic now, haha. Personally, I like this lighthearted side rather than all the doom and gloom.

  • animation only suited for the ambiguously gay duo...

  • Even though this show is super campy and pretty lighthearted, Cesar Romero still creeps me out as The Joker. That cackle is somewhat unsettling. I love it.

  • springs are old shool just walk out the front door and macs suck

  • Even in a prison softball game, it's all about beating the batman...

  • ALL MUSIC IS IMPORTANT!

  • and here's me thinking Numbers were the Universal Language

  • yes...

  • I think that this Joker is MUCH BETTER than Heath Ledger

  • No way in hell.

  • I was kidding

  • smartone403 ur on crack

  • First appearance of Joker in this Batman series. Episodes #5 & #6.

  • Jesus, Romero's Joker laugh is freakin' incredible.

  • may be campy but it's good

  • wow the campiness level is overwhelming and i am loving it. great show. too bad its not on dvd yet... : (

  • I love this series and Cesar Romero. c:

But it's really irritating that people who aren't even familiar with Batman, are critizing it because it's "nothing like The Dark Knight".

This is the original stuff people.

It was meant to be insanely campy.

  • Would have been no "The Dark Knight" without this show. This series has said to have saved Batman comics from cancellation back in the 60's.

  • The night is campiest just before the dawn.

  • and there would be no "batman saved from cancelling back in the 60's" without detective comics #27 from 1939. I'm sorry, but i really don't like this kind of logic.

  • No, I see the logic. It wasn't as if this series was a flop. It's a part of American pop culture and was a huge hit when it debuted in 1966 and it resulted in the comic book's resurgence. There may not be a direct link, but we shouldn't shun it either.

  • NOONE WOUlD KNOW WHO BATMAN IS WITHOUT THIS SERIES, NONE OF THE GREAT MOVIES COULD HAVE EXISTED.....THIS SERIES IS IMPORTANT

  • HAHAHAHAHAAAA "INGENIOUS! ONLY the JOKER would think of THAT!" it's a spring you a-hole xD

  • haha and bruce wayne was a 'million'are back then.. just shows how inflation works

  • "SPRUNG? You can say that again!"

    LMFAO

  • LMFAO the joker looks like ronald mcdonald, yet if it weren't for this movie, we wouldn't have the dark knight (or if it weren't for the comics before this with equal quality)

  • hey mexicans haha nice

  • this is really some of heath ledgers finer work

  • I can't even listen to this fool talk without thinking of him as the Mayor of Quahog.

  • omg ur rite i never wud have noticed

  • This is so funny its just not fair... I can't stop laughing love it!!!!

  • Damn, WHY is this show not on DVD yet?

  • Keep it up FanOfBats. This is one of my favorite episodes yet!

  • Could this POSSIBLY be the ACTUAL original broadcast version of this episode? It sure seems like it!

  • I don't know. I don;t see the little TV Land logo in the corner. No idea what the original source was.

  • 6:05,

the tv land logo comes up in the corner

  • Sorry, can't be the original. It wouldn't have had the TV G rating box in it.

  • anyone know the episode were robin is smoking

  • Thats where The Joker Goes To School. I don't have that one.

  • Leave it to old "Clown Boy", to go out on a bad pun.

  • Do the Gotham Police ever do anything?

  • They call Batman!

  • did anybody EVER take this seriously?

  • LAWL. Joker playing baseball...

  • Romero NEVER shaved off his mustach. LOL.

oddly his hands are normal instead of all white.

    unlike the comics.

  • this is one of the best batman stories of the 50s-60s genre of batman. The plot is insanely simple, but it works! Having the Joker enter himself in a museum is just the thing he would do. Defineitly, one of my favorite episodes of this show, or any Batman show

  • I might know the answer to this question but when will the Joker ever learn that crime never pays.

  • You need an ace in the hole, the joker's was harvey =D

  • This episode ws the first appearence of

    The Joker.

  • "A bust mounted on a pedestal. Bust. Pedestal. Where does one usually find a bust on a pedestal?"

    "A Museum!"

    "Or a Hall of Fame!"

  • Gotham State Pen is actually Statesville Prison near Joliet Illinois.

  • I swear that Dick/Robin is one of the most simplistic minds of the era. It just takes a few simple words from Batman/Bruce to turn his opinions completely around. Makes one wonder if he can think for himself in most matters.

  • Well, there are some episodes where he 'corrects' Batman if he thinks he's wrong. Besides, he was hot, so all is forgiven here. ;)

  • Yes, watching Burt Ward running around in what is basically underwear with no pants is definitely a turn on. No co,plaints there!

  • Indeed. And Dick Grayson's...compliance...would make for some interesting...scenarios...in the bedroom, that's for sure. ^_^

  • Yes, considering how easy he is to talk around.

  • Woo, another Joker episode.

  • Is that no good? The Penguin is my favorite but we gotta mix it up.

  • I like them all, good work.
