I don't think it's so much that the people who watch MTV are stupid, it's just that those companies patronise the public. No-one loves Cribs the way people love The Wire, I'd bet people just half-watch it while doing other things because it's mildly entertaining, and the executives who made it treat that as a success. So that sort of shit that no-one gets much enjoyment from becomes more profitable than the stuff that has a properly obsessive audience.

i agree with what he's saying a 100 percent. Its a shame there's so many people who look up to mtv and all this bs people who seem to make sense are like a rare breed in todays youth. For example i visited a music college earlier and within my observations i just heard a wave of discussions about whos backstabbing who and bitching about people on reality tv shows its a shame.
