An inaccuracy of this video is that Hitler did not take all off Czechoslovakia after the Munich Agreement and the annexation of the Sudetenland. He gave the eastern part of the country to Hungary, established the independent state of Slovakia in the middle, and took the western part and called it "the protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia". Also, you forgot that in 1939, Hitler also annexed Memel from Lithuania in the east and added to East Prussia.

There was one problem I noticed, about Germany annexing the Saar. The Saar rejoined Germany by plebiscite, Hitler didn't "annex" it in the way this video implied. Also, the maps incorrectly show East Prussia as being separate from Germany, even though it was at the time. Other than those little nitpicks, good video.

Actually, most of it is utterly nonsense because by taking the German areas of Europe back into a German political construction is and was a valid political process. For example, both the Sudentendeutsch and the Austrian Deutsch as well as the Memeland Deutsche and the Danzig Deutsch were Deutsch. There NEVER was a Saarland as a people or Sudetenland as a nation. Danzig was NEVER a "polish port". The whole thing is utterly nonsense.

The Poles took Teschen with Hitler's agreement. ONLY the Sudetenland was re-integrated into the Reich -- as it should have been. The Bohemian Protectorate couldn't get its act together like the Slovaks did.
You forgot the third axis, Sovjet union and the later Ribbentrop-Molotov pact. It too was annexing and invading it´s neibourghs prior to the war. I always have wondered why the defence agreement between the allies and Poland didn´t lead to a decleration of war against the Sovjet union?
@WhiskyNorth Germany was a more immediate concern, plus the Soviet Union attacked after the Germans, it wasn't a matter of approving the Soviet action, it was just the realization that there was no possible way to fight them both at the same time and that it would only push them closer together.

Stalin hoped the French & British would be able to keep the Axis busy so the Soviets could build up there military, Much like the American plan. However France was corrupt and fell and Stalin thought with the Fronts against Britain, Hitler would not risk more fronts in the East. However Hitler played Stalin like puppet just like Chamberlain.

Churchill planned operation unthinkable and could have started World war 3. What could the Allies do?

Russia never helped defend Poland because of the Nazi-Soviet pact of 1938 stating that if one of the powers went to war the other would not get involved.

There are nothing about Molotov-Ribentrop pact between USSR and nazi Germany, that was the main reason why Hitler attacked Poland, anyways USSR were the same aggresor as Germany becouse few days later they invaded in Poled from east and occopied baltic couentries.

The American folks back then did not want the war, but there government wanted to. So it needed a reason to overrule its own people (or to convince them). The American Government was provoking events, that would allow it to intervene into a war, by supporting China and Great Britain, even when being officially neutral.
Don't get me wrong, I am not blaming America or anything, but depicting them as the "tagets for Germans" is questionable. I bet Germany back then wouldn't have mind if the US did not intervene in the war. Maybe there was even sympathy for America within the German population, as America supported the Fourteen Points during the Paris Peace Conference.
Anyways, every country involved lost civilian and every country has some skeletons in its closet - and don't get my wrong, Germany has many.
I purposely expressed myself vaguely at that point and did not try to make any point other than outlining that there were some (actually quite a few) WW2-skeletons in the closet of the US. @martynrobin121 If you read your history the Soviets led by Stalin, planned starvation that killed 20 - 40 million in the Ukraine and death squads like the NKVD were not known for feeding, watering and bedding their prisoners like the Nazis. There is a reason that out of its 27 million dead, 3 million were prisoners of war who died in German concentration camps. The atrocities perpetrated by the Red Army in 1945 were actually lenient compared to what the Germans did in their occupied territories of the USSR.

This was really well done, don't mind if it's not historical or what not 100%. I actually really enjoyed the animation style, and I can tell how much detail you put in the focal characters and objects in each scene and everything in the background, such as the movement.

The Sudetenland was occupied by Germans (race) and the Czechs were abusing the Germans there. Hitler had a goal to unite all Germans under one state. Even northern Poland had Germans living there. They emigrated centuries ago: Hitler invaded (northern) Poland for the same reason Prussia (Austro-Hungary and Russia too) partitioned it back in the late 1700's.

An inaccuracy of this video is that Hitler did not take all off Czechoslovakia after the Munich Agreement and the annexation of the Sudetenland. He gave the eastern part of the country to Hungary, established the independent state of Slovakia in the middle, and took the western part and called it "the protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia". Also, you forgot that in 1939, Hitler also annexed Memel from Lithuania in the east and added to East Prussia.

There was one problem I noticed, about Germany annexing the Saar. The Saar rejoined Germany by plebiscite, Hitler didn't "annex" it in the way this video implied. Also, the maps incorrectly show East Prussia as being separate from Germany, even though it was at the time. Other than those little nitpicks, good video.

Actually, most of it is utterly nonsense because by taking the German areas of Europe back into a German political construction is and was a valid political process. For example, both the Sudentendeutsch and the Austrian Deutsch as well as the Memeland Deutsche and the Danzig Deutsch were Deutsch. There NEVER was a Saarland as a people or Sudetenland as a nation. Danzig was NEVER a "polish port". The whole thing is utterly nonsense.

@TheMythtern5 Rubbish! The Hungarian settled areas went back to Hungary; as the velvet divorce of 1993 showed, the Slovaks given their indepence by Hitler were NOT a puppet but a separate nation. The Poles took Teschen with Hitler's agreement. ONLY the Sudetenland was re-integrated into the Reich -- as it should have been. The Bohemian Protectorate couldn't get its act together like the Slovaks did.

You forgot the third axis, Sovjet union and the later Ribbentrop-Molotov pact. It too was annexing and invading it´s neibourghs prior to the war. I always have wondered why the defence agreement between the allies and Poland didn´t lead to a decleration of war against the Sovjet union?

The soviet saw it coming and was trying to negotiate with the west to contain germany earlier, but brittain would have none of it. so they eventually signed the pact with germany instead. cos the only other option was negotiating with germany and hope it would attack west wards.

France couldve neutralized germany when it remilitairized rhineland, but was not allowed to do so. without the rhineland secured, germany would've never dare to make up war plans, simply because that was imposible with the heart of its industry open to be attacked at any time.

Stalin hoped the French & British would be able to keep the Axis busy so the Soviets could build up there military, Much like the American plan. Their was no major plan, The Allies wanted 2 defeat Germany and in the surrender they would sign over Poland just like the Great war. Winston Churchill plan was to make Stalin give up Poland Eastern Europe after the war, However only Churchill arguee with Stalin and the Cold war started. Churchill planned operation unthinkable and could have started World war 3. What could the Allies do?

It was not a dictatorship, it was a short period of poltical weakness, when Hitler came to power with a 40 % Party in a not so much democratic way by nomination by Hindenburg. Having accepted the first measures of the nazi it was extremely hard to resist. The only way to stay clean was resistance in the secrecy or emigration. In the Great war the Germans were killing American civilians and the U.S didnt dare say anything till 1917, When they got sick of been targets for Germans. Why should Britain,France get involved? The American folks back then did not want the war, but there government wanted to. So it needed a reason to overrule its own people (or to convince them). The American Government was provoking events, that would allow it to intervene into a war, by supporting China and Great Britain, even when being officially neutral.

Don't get me wrong, I am not blaming America or anything, but depicting them as the "tagets for Germans" is questionable. I bet Germany back then wouldn't have mind if the US did not intervene in the war. Maybe there was even sympathy for America within the German population, as America supported the Fourteen Points during the Paris Peace Conference.
Anyways, every country involved lost civilian and every country has some skeletons in its closet - and don't get my wrong, Germany has many.

I purposely expressed myself vaguely at that point and did not try to make any point other than outlining that there were some (actually quite a few) WW2-skeletons in the closet of the US. Of course comparing their skeletons to those of other countries is quite a two-edged task and would require some carefully elaborated analysis. Especially in regards to WW2, you should only make such claims, when you're damn sure, what you're talking about.

There is a reason that out of its 27 million dead, 3 million were prisoners of war who died in German concentration camps. Stalin actually sent a offer to Hitler to follow the Hague Convention shortly after the invasion began, but it was never replied to. The atrocities perpetrated by the Red Army in 1945 were actually lenient compared to what the Germans did in their occupied territories of the USSR.

Hitler WAS German. There's this thing called "race" and the German race was spread father than the borders of Germany. The Sudetenland was occupied by Germans (race) and the Czechs were abusing the Germans there. Hitler had a goal to unite all Germans under one state. Even northern Poland had Germans living there. They emigrated centuries ago: Hitler invaded (northern) Poland for the same reason Prussia (Austro-Hungary and Russia too) partitioned it back in the late 1700's.
