the "all blacks" are the new zealand rugby team. they do a haka before they play.

no worries! the team are called the all blacks because they wear ALL BLACK. our soccer team are the all whites, basketball team:tall blacks etc... nothing to do with haka but kinda cool to know...

haha cuzz you would think thats why they're called the "All Blacks" aye, but apparently back in the days like 1908(ish)the NZ rugby team was playing an international test and they came up with the name "All BACKS". When the local newspaper issued an article on the game, there was a typo and they had put black instead of backs hahahah. I have no idea why they never corrected it, but I guess it just had a bittofa ring to it. Either that or they were porangi hahaha

REALLY? well the all backs is just LAME so i'm glad they were erroneously called the all blacks - it certainly does have a ring to it! and the guys wearing all BLACK works for me!!;-)

hahah tautoko. Yeah apparently so, I've heard it a couple times on doco's pertaining to the AB's. Also, in regards to what we wear and our national colours of black and white, that innocent little typo has probably had a profound affect over time on what our countrymen have elected to wear. Ha!

Whangara's tutor is Derek Lardelli who wrote the Kapa O Pango haka for the All Blacks. That end part is common in many haka though.
