And most drum triggers are NOT Dynamic, most people eliminate dynamics completely, as quite frankly, you just CAN'T hit your kick drums hard enough at blazing fast speeds for them to have a distinct sound.
It's true though that triggers make it easier to cut through the mix. It is still harder to play with them, as every single mistake comes out really well.
I can't fucking believe someone just said this was boring. At an Origin show, you get to listen to music that is absolutely pummeling and you get to appreciate the sheer athleticism it takes to play this stuff. To be able to write something like this, let alone play it, is ridiculous in itself.

Plus most ddrum triggers are dynamic, as the volume of the sample correlates to the power of the hit.

Not all music is meant to make you feel happy. The lyrics are actually meaningful, and not hard to understand if you know them. This music wouldn't sound as extreme with clean vocals.

Thats exactly why they do it though. Triggered basses are basically for high speed since they lack dynamics. Lets say you are Kollias with his swivel foot technique or Longstreth who uses heel/toe. You want the movement to be as small as possible and barely tapping is normal at 220+ BPM.
The only time I dont like triggered kits are when they sound like a crappy drum machine. I have heard some that sound fake and very sampled. Pete Sandoval is an example for good sound.

actually origin and briandrill's bassist are pretty loud...quite easy to hear em...for necrophagist you can sometimes hear it n sometimes not but most of the time i hear it
there is nothing technical about them, they are just extremely fast...and their guitarist has horrible sloppy "arpeggios"...i wouldnt even call them that... half the notes he sweeps are muted, all you can barely here is the hammer ons he does. Look at the guitar tabs,,, thats simple writing. Only thing technical about the music is the drumming a bit, but its just extremely fast is all

Ive been playing death metal guitar for 12 years, and yes, ive seen some very technical shit. Take a look at the tabs for this song and you be the judge. I can see why someone like you would find his guitar playing technical because you probably dont know any better or cant play guitar. Like I said, the only thing technical about Origin is John. If there was no John, there would be no Origin. Just like they got James to replace him for one album, it went to hell, which is why John is back.

I understand that there is so much bass flying around up there that it'd have to compete for frequency space but fuck....this sound just detracts from the impeccable Longstreth performance
it sounds like that because EVERYTHING sounds very distant when recorded at certain angles. if the camera man were right in front of the PA, all you would hear is alot of bass and thump from the bass drums. in this case, the guitars sound distant too. nothing has bass, so the drums sound clicky. I would rather HEAR the bass drums click so I can know how he is playing rather than hear nothing but static-y noise.

All triggers do is make no matter how hard you hit the kick drum, it comes out at the same volume through the speakers.
So basically these guys can just tap the bass drum peddles an it comes out just as loud as it would if they were stomping on it.
A must for this style of music.

Well, that depends, for example George Kollias says that he has to put the triggers on really "loose" because his stroker are so powerful,
But you are right, Nicholas Barker is one example of drummers who just taps the pedals.
Before John started doing doubles he's strokes were pretty strong, i dont know how it is now so no comment about that :)
But it would sound stupid to play techniques like heel-toe without triggers due to accents on strokes.

Antithesis is by far one of if not the most technical brutal death metal album ever created. I coulden't belive what I was hearing when I listened to it but its musicianship at its finest.
