  • ace six unsuited and king 8 unsuited are unplayable , yet 10 8 offsuit and 9 7 offsuit are ?

  • @VaLiiDFaiiL Yes, especially if several people go to the flop. If You have A6 and there are 4 other players, one of them is likely to have an ace and a better kicker. If the flop has an ace, they raise and you call. You lose money. With something like 10 8, it's great if you can limp in to see the flop. If the flop is 67J you have a gutshot straight draw. If you are in late position, you can calculate your pot odds to see if the straight is worth chasing, or you can have an easy fold.

  • @artysmokes good point but i still call ace anything in late position with no previous callers , as i do with most hands

  • @VaLiiDFaiiL Oh, in late position with no one else in the pot, I'd raise with Ax, to put pressure on the blinds. Generally speaking though, I always fold baby aces, even if suited. (But I'm a very tight player).

  • @artysmokes i kind if got that impression by the way you were talking , and i try to vary my play but playing tight is sensible

  • Comment removed

  • AT from any position? No thanks.

  • AK suited second best? I disagree, AA KK QQ and JJ are better imo

  • Im quite unsure what these early middle and late positions are implying. Is it saying play the hands no matter what if you are in these positions? or is the graphy implying that by mid and late position many people will have folded?

  • @kigger622 depending on your position is when you wanna play your cards. Early is a bad place to start because you have no information on what other people may have cause they didnt make a bet yet, late is good cause youve seen what other people have bet and have a little bit of an idea of hand strenth depending on how they bet

  • early mid and late refers to your relative position to the dealer button. In a 10 player game, from the dealer, it's the 2 blinds then the next 3 are early, next 3 are middle and the last 2 are late..

  • Big pocket pairs can be played either way, but if you love playing AA with many opponents you also need to be pschologically prepared to fold AA often.

However, it's not too smart to play AA as a drawing hand rather than as a raising hand because playing with multiple opponents means that you can be outdrawn much more easily, and even if you draw something nice, you won't get much more money because most everybody will fold fast.

So, best play is to play big pockets as raising hands.

  • some players limp with Aces or Kings (i never limp with Kings) and then they checkraise the flop.

Oh boy, i love that! I see the stack coming!

I love the way tod brunson plays A,K / A,Q, he never reraise them, a true deep stack cash game plyr.

  • Look, there are really two types of playable hands.

Drawing hands: Small pocket pairs, consecutive connnectors, and suited hands should be played with many opponents because you need very good pot odds. Obviously you should only do this in late position cause you have know way of knowing whether you will have great pot odds or not in early.

Raising Hands: AK, AQ, AJ, need fewer opponents. The safest way to play is to raise fast to try to get heads up.

  • Q-7 worse than 5-4? How come?

  • you dont have to rely on that diagram. if you wanna play 1-7 play it

but the chance of hitting the straight is more unlikely. whereas with 5-4 your chances are much higher.

    thats y

  • Don't listen to pumad, he doesn't know what he's talking about. 54 is better than Q7 for the following reasons:

    1) 54 has better straight potential.

    2) 54 is not easily dominated. ie, it's unlikely that someone else in the hand will have a 5 or 4 with a better kicker. Whereas Q7 is easily dominated. If you flop a pair of queens and someone has a better kicker, you're dead to 3 outs. Say your opponent has AQ, you end up having the second best hand and have to catch a 7 to win. Q7 is pure trash.

  • Hands down one of the best Youtube comments I have read regarding poker insight. Thanks!

  • @fourfives89 I think the more accurate thing to say is 54 is only better than Q7 at lower level poker where players will only play upper tier hands (pairs and face cards) to the flop. So naturally the flop will miss you, or if it does actually help you, there's a good chance someone has the same card but better kicker as you said. However, in higher level poker where more varied cards are played to the river, and especially in heads up play, Q 7 has a larger advantage to 54 than you make think.

  • @fourfives89 I aggree with you Q 7 is trash...you will always be outkickerede...5 4 is much better...

  • @fourfives89 I think your point is valid, but really you mean it's easier to play 54 than it is to play q7, even though statistically q7 has better odds of winning. Likewise 10J is pretty even with 55, but 10J is preferred for the same reason.

  • @fourfives89 guess you never read the super system/... or are you 2 good for doyal brunsion also..

  • LOL at the chart. The hands highlighted that can be played from "any position" is bs. Maybe the top half of the hands highlighted are playable. Certainly not hands like J9, T9, KT etc. They're terrible hands to play UTG or early position. Especially in a full ring game.

  • your an amateur, otherwise you wouldnt say sth that stupid

  • So you think J9 is playable UTG?

  • as long as its suited , sure.

  • Hahahahahahahahahahaha

  • I was thinking the same. even KJs isn't a hand you need raise UTG in a FR game.... you're too often outkicked and with no position that'll get expensive, flushdraws aren't all to good to play oop either. You really need to have a good postflop edge to play such hands as UTG profitable.

  • Great video.

    Very informative.

I am 15 and have only recently got into playing Poker, but with all of these excellent guides on the internet I am making huge progress very fast.

Once again, thank you very much.

I have your free poker guide. =D

  • I don't know if this is smart move but when I'm early position left of big blind and i have pocket aces. I limp in on purpose and expect people to raise because one time, I raised 4-5 times the blind, EVERYONE folded. But when I limped in, there were few callers, and then one person raised, I reraised them, were able to steal some blinds and huge pot. I don't know if this is good idea but I dont' think it's always good to raise during pre-flop from very early position.

  • I agree, whenever people raise big early before the flop I fold, I'll fold with pocket aces...I care less...not smart strategy and they'll win minimum

  • Depends. If you have pocket Aces, you should reraise regardless of what he has. If he reraise high enough, he'll end up folding and you steal his raise. I love raise-stealing. Honestly, with pocket Aces, you wanna try to avoid the flop. So you try to take them down during pre-flop. But if they're resisting and wanting to go heads up against you, you're still in good shape. But if you have several callers, you're likely fucked.

  • When I reraise, it usually ends up being 20 times the big blind. Because someone raises 4 times the blind, I reraise them 5 times their raise. But during tournaments, when blinds are low, I put up 1/3 of my chip stack on purpose. By doing this, either everyone folds or someone with premium hand will call/all in. If they call or all in, you're still in very good shape.

  • Works sometimes, but I personally hate slow playing simply because I always get bit in the ass. AA under the gun, limp, everyone else limps, and the flop comes 678 all spades. You don't have a spade. You're pretty much going to fold to any bet over 2/3 the pot (unless even that is cheap).

  • You're right. It's not good to slowplay them. I only do it if I can sense the raise. If it's a table bunch of tight-aggressive players who limp in from late position or rocks who are very passive, then it's never a good idea to limp in with aces.

  • For All INs, you should NEVER call several people's all in unless you have high pocket pairs. I had AK but several people went all in, I folded AK, but it turned out that 3 people had pocket pairs, AA, KK, 22. AK has lower percentage than pocket 2s. AK and high cards are very good hands to play with but not recommended for calling ALL INs.

  • Also Alot Of People Play Just Their Cards And

Not The Players They Are Playing With..Folding

Aces Against 2 Or More Allins Is Sometimes A

    Smart Play Also..

  • For calling All Ins during pre-flop, I only call with AA, KK, QQ, JJ. Because you can always predict that in casinos, if you're playing against 8 other players, then any pocket pairs have advantage over 2 high cards. If several people go all in, I just fold, step aside, and let them dogfight. I can always get better hands nxt time and clear up their chip stack. :D

  • Thanks. Good vid.

  • good
