But I still get the people in life who have no idea what sex I am, and usually if people see me as a certain gender I just roll with it. Hey buddy, You know they have to throw us into a box to feel comfortable. I had things about myself and was called a girl but like you I don't care what people think. I dont know why people only feel comfortable if they define your gender I think it is because they are attracted to you because of a magnetic personality and voice so they have to know if they are allowed to be attracted to you so they have to know your gender, why dont people just love everyone. And quit worrying about it.

Joey that was a fantastic video and you are very well spoken. I would like to mention, however, that you are accepting people asking if you are a guy or a girl yet you are offended by people asking if you are gay. That makes it sound as if being androgynous is ok but being gay is bad. I'm guessing I misunderstood you but I thought I should point that out.

Like is anyone thinks your a girl when first seeing you... theres NOTHING offensive about that. I mean, people put stories to faces based on previous experiences. So they cant HELP it, you know? Its just what their subconcious figured out for them.
But if people after hearing you talk AND hearing you say "Hey its Joey", say like: "Holy shit its a dude" or, "dude you look guy, you fag"... and stuff like that, as you said, its a completely different story.
But there will always be haters... lol.

Well said, Joey. In today's online world, and in the public eye as you are, now and then it helps to have a thick skin. You'll get the weirdos, and the trolls, and people who just want to get under your skin, and then you'll get some who just innocently don't know you, and ask an odd question. Seems to me that you have them ALL under control. I mean, you've only been at this for, what, 10 years now? You've had a lot more practice than most people know.
I await the grand ending to 2009. :-)

20 years ago when I was your age being who one was often was dangerous and could get one killed. Yep - just twenty years ago and still today in parts of our country. I'm glad to see people like yourself are able to be who they are without fear.

BTW, Do you have a clear video of you singing "You're worth the time" when you were a kid? There is a clip of you singing it, but the audio was not great. I still get that tune stuck in my head some days and I'd love to hear it clearly.

Joey, the content of your character is so beautiful and that is all that matters. I hope some day we get to a place in this country where racism, sexism, homophobia and any other form of making people feel less than is expunged or reduced to the point of it being a true abberation. As we see from current town hall meetings, hatred and bigotry are still with us. Stay strong and true with a heart of gold.

When I met you when you were 10 I always thought that you were wise beyond your years and that you had one of the biggest hearts of anyone I knew. I think you do have feminine qualities about your appearance and mannerisms, but it is clear you are male. I don't think you are a homosexual either, just feminine. There is nothing wrong with that. Especially when you are comfortable with who you are. I'm a female, who get's labeled as masculine, although, clearly woman. It doesn't offend me, because I know who I am. Labels are for products not people. When the world realizes this, things will be much better for people of all backgrounds.

Be just exactly who you are, Joey! Keep singing and entertaining the 'troops' and we'll keep watching. I've ceased to take much notice of comments on my videos about my appearance. I'm told I'm everything from sexy and good enough to eat, to looking like a racoon or a tramp (hobo?). One guy even went to the trouble to tell me he thought from my appearance that I had white-eye disease, (wha?) swollen ankles and a bad back! Like you, I just chuckle and move on. :-)

Joey-you are first class all the way! I will never understand why anyone watches a video and then insults or tries to be hurtful to the person making the video. They are only very insecure, and are starved for attention, good or bad. I love YT. I would never have heard you if not for YT. And let me add this as i ramble. Appearance is a personal prefference, not a public perception. ofcourse people in majority are always gona judge on first appearance, but there are still the rare few such as myself that look beyond the role of a man, but rather into the soul of a man. Thank you for this video. It affirms my beleif that there are still people left that refuse to cater to public appeal. Instead the cater to how THEY feel.

This is something I realized a long time ago, it's a sad fact about humanity that no matter what how you look, someone somewhere will find something to criticize. You could spend your entire life dedicating your time to trying to look exactly as people want you to look, and you would still never succeed.
So at the end of the day, you're right, be comfortable in yourself and look the way you want to look. If people dislike that, it's their problem, not yours (",)
