ok i saw your review and went to read the novel my self its very good is the second story a new start of kirito or is it set in the future were he helps others to escape i realy wonder can you explain o and love gaiming thanks if you replay to my coment
Hi, StormKing. You are doing a very good review on SAO the series. I love the series wholeheartedly. I don't know if you get the chance to read my comment or not but I would like to ask you about your thoughts about the story from 3rd volume onwards because some readers might think that the author is milking the story by throwing Kirito into different games but honestly I don't feel that he is milking the story at all.
@tomtkp When it comes to this topic I can see and acknowledge the point as to why people believe the series is being milked because they believe after Asuna was rescued they story should have stopped there.
In my opinion I think the series is doing quite excellent in the fact that each "chapter" in the SAO storyline introduces a new main character that broadens SAO and is not just limited to 2 overall main characters and many other secondary characters. (cont...)
@StormKing1 (cont...) For ALO we got Lyfa, for GGO we get Sinon, etc. The reason why in my opinion SAO does not get boring is that we get new characters and we learn them through Kirito in addition to seeing a whole new world again through Kirito. Now SAO is no longer limited to just being "Save Asuna". SAO has now become a journey with Kirito as he saves people and waiting as a new world of where people and technology soon become one. (cont...)
@StormKing1 (cont...) SAO is in my opinion not being milked because a milked series as a definition is one that does not introduce anything new and does the same thing all over again. With SAO, although it may not be very noticeable to others because of Kirito's action and how the story is presented; it has ever so slightly has shifted how the story and world progressed, which was originally rescuing Asuna, into something new and entirely different from before. (cont...)
@StormKing1 (cont...) I hope this shows you my opinion of the SAO series as I know where both sides are coming from in terms of whether or not it is being milked. Otherwise don't be afraid to ask me to clarify on anything.
@StormKing1 Thank you for your opinion and at the same time I am relieved that you are not one of them, I did met readers who commented that the story should have ended by the end of Volume 1 or in Volume 4 (end of ALO) because they believed that the current storyline is being deviated from the the main theme of SAO, however I believe that it's not true.
Read SAO after your reccomendation. Although it reminded me a little too much of another series, I can say I really enjoyed reading it, although the volumes after the first and second seem to just be milking it. Thanks for pointing me towards SAO, StormKing.
ive read the 1st arc it so awesome........there were side stories...... about NPCs and making weapons and the protagonist first guild.......i hope it became animated..... and for 2years long living killing and pking fellow gamers that they didnt know they kill them for real!.....they didnt reach the lvl 100....cause the GM was killed.....the second arc is about fairies rescuing damsels....and morphing goat like beast awesome
I have finally read volume one including chapter 16.5 ;) I loved every part of it. It's a great novel to read if you play alot of MMOs and the novel is so accurate^^.
Thank you Stormking for recommending me such a good light novel. Wish it was licensed so I can buy it =(
Sorry. once you made the "Boggle" reference towards morality and reality. I Laughed my Ass off. Mostly due to me being a Philosopher (A.K.A someone who HATES everyone.) Sorry for the meaningless comment. but eh, deal with it.
@StormKing1 I saw on that link that they apear to still be searching for tranlators so shoud I asume that means that fan-translated project is still ungoing
in other words I am Missing In Action on this one T.T
hey, stormking. Which character do you like best?

Sword Art Online was generic and boring as hell to me. I really don't get why it's so popular amongst the light novel reading crowd. :/
