  • you guys ruin a perfect song by arguing on youtube and talking about other stuff besides the video itself.

  • @Juan101Cruz Yeah how can people argue when such damn good music is playin.

  • Adoro esta música. Ela sintetiza elementos franceses, espanhóis, negros e ingleses que resultaram na cultura da Lousiana. Espero um dia conhecer essa região. Abraços.

  • Congratulations! ....The original Jambaya. Good wishes from México!...

  • I will praise the day when nobody dies and everybody realizes the futility of arguing on youtube.

  • @lens33 ...I kinda enjoy open forums where folks speak their minds. It helps me remember not to get too comfortable in this thoroughly racist society. You feel me?

  • I listen to RAP & I don't mind bump'n some HANK WILLIAMS SR. OR PATSY CLINE on the road with my 12in subs & tweeter's:) No need to try to fit in, just listen to what I like. I love the look I get when I listen to these great jams!!!! ROSCOE HOLCOMB is the greatest I bet I wont find you're comment's good or racist on his beautiful songs, Zackery your full of well U know already!!! oh & I'm LATINO just 1 with good taste in music. R.I.P GREAT LEGENDS!!!

  • @cesarh86 Listen friend I don't care if you listen to it or not. I just don't like rap but I am glad your listening to real music and fyi you spelled my name wrong :-)

  • @cesarh86 ...I'm kinda partial to Tommy Jarrell myself.

  • I dont know why but I think of Fallout when I hear this

  • I am a proud Fontenot

  • thy shall kill rap

  • This song makes me want to go out froggin'...

  • @ronetteloverz froggin ???

  • @fifwardtx2901 ...Yep.."froggin".....hunting for frogs in the bayou at night with a flashlight.

  • This Music, which we recognize as pure Country, is eternally associated with the Unforgettable

Hank Williams Snr. He was, without doubt, a real/true/original star, who, after whom, he was emulated, ultimately. He will never be repeated.

  • When grandpa was alive, we would drive down the road in his old truck and listen to our hank tape. i'd sing along and he'd just smile... this brings back good memories of him. its hard to believe that its been a whole year since he's been gone. hank will make the memories last forever

  • OMG i do believe this is the first song i know of that uses my name yvonne /blush :)

  • gotta love hankxxx

  • God the my side of the Tremblay family immigrated to Lousiana back in the 1800's! :( Instead im stuck here in my igloo in Canada.. haha ;)

  • @dom0tron God, i wish my side*

  • this is fun at least u dont get dui

  • give them their time

  • same song different era

  • I will praise the day when rap dies

  • @ZackAttack261 You haven't heard Eyedea then.

  • @ZackAttack261

with all due respect, lil' wayne doesnt constitute rap, nor hip hop, but shit pop. there are no links. none whatsoever. As a true hip hopper, I appreciate true music

  • @Tact52 Your right but I heard plenty of rap believe me and I personally think its destructive music.

  • @ZackAttack261 hank williams and the entire country genre has nothing to do with and is unaffected by hip hop. wishing poorly on any genre of music only invalidates your opinion as a music lover. stop being hateful.

  • @UCLUKE I can say what ever the hell I want boy. I will stop being "hateful" to rap when rap stops being hateful. I say that because people who listen to gangster rap on a daily basis is either a piece of shit or just wanting to be accepted by their ghetto ass friends.

  • @ZackAttack261 ....LOL...and you're just a good white Christian fellow full of that good white supremacist Christian animosity? Come on Man!...it's the 21st century and you still think like 19th century trash....

  • @PeluMaad Oh all of the sudden now I am a dumb racist redneck just because I think rap music is destructive. You have NO idea what you are talking about. I have black friends who hate rap just as much as me and they would have a thing or two to say to your ass how it really does negatively effect the American (not just the black) community.

  • @ZackAttack261 ....LOL.....I love it when you guys use the old "black friends" line. So tell me, my liberal friend, what is it about 'rap" that bugs you so much....non-standard language usage or just the idea that people look, think and express themselves differently than you? I don't care for rap much either but I'm more offended by the crass exploitation than the fact that American multi-culturalism produced it.

  • @PeluMaad "....LOL ... I love it when you guys use the old 'black friends" line". Listen here asshole if I was racist I would have told you because I don't give 2 shits what you think of me. AIl I said is that I don't like funkin rap music and why do you give a shit anyway. What if i was racist or was opposed to multiculturalism what are you going to do ? I think YOUR the one that doesn't like people different from you not me.

  • @ZackAttack261 ....Of course you don't care what I think about you...because in your mind I'm just a baggy pants hip hop "thug". You are racist and intolerant of other cultural ideas, don't fool yourself. I'd teach you more but what's the point? I'd rather play my banjo.

  • @PeluMaad Actually I think your a douche bag who wont mind his own business. I also find it funny that you already have a idea of who I am when I never once admitted I was racist or anti multicultural. All I said is I hate rap and think its destructive .... I guess that's just short for I am a homophobic redneck racist fascist Klansman and whats this bs about you "teaching" me the only thing I learned from you is how big your mouth is.

  • @ZackAttack261.....You hate rap and you NEED to say so...under a Hank Williams video....you do the math, asshole.

  • @PeluMaad Your still stereotyping you fucking idiot. Just because I said that under a classic country song that makes me a racist redneck ... would I be racist if I said that in a Jazz video ?

  • @ZackAttack261 ....LOL....as far as I can tell you're only a racist asshole when you're breathing. Once upon a time jazz musicians were as despised as rappers...by clowns like you...but that was before Kenny G.....LOL!!!!...I crack me up!

  • @PeluMaad Okay what does any of that shit have to do with me ? I think jazz is a hell of alot better then rap ?

  • @ZackAttack261 ....LOL....and you think you're not a racist?

  • @ZackAttack261 ...black folks ain't going nowhere...

  • @PeluMaad actually black folks are going somewhere. Its the niggers that's not.

  • @ZackAttack261 ....more racism...

  • @ZackAttack261 I will praise the day when Justin Beiber dies along with all the music nowadays that uses autotune. Rap is a contributor to that but i can name a bunch of current rock/pop songs that i hate and basically today's current pop and rock. But i hate Screamo more than anything in the world

  • @ZackAttack261 Yea but no more so than the 80's

  • @ZackAttack261 ? why?

  • @ZackAttack261 Youre very cruel, feel some sympathy for the fools:-)

Shit on Country Music, it it will survive all onslaughts,

Like Good Ole Hank Williams said:"You couldn´t kill it with a stick".

  • best singer ever

  • @gduwen

The names are spelled Thibodeaux and Fontenot. Thanks for posting, though. Reminds me of home.

  • Not to take anything from Jo Stafford or anyone else, but this is the version that should have been the definitive one. Also on the internet, I've found the Cajun lyrics, which help only for one who has familiarity with French.

  • this is the ORIGINAL RAP MUSIC!

  • คงจะมีเพลงนี้เท่านั้นท่ี นคร มังคลายน ไม่แปลงเป็นไทย หรือมีแต่ผมไม่ได้ยิน

  • @theDeckisStacked Hank Williams was a young man without a chance to earn much money due to the economic crisis before the world war, due to the world war then and due to his demaged columna vertebralis afte an accident at the age of eighteen. He was a gospel-singer earning to less money at churches around on sunday morning. At the upcoming "Country and Western" style he tried with succes. It brought money at all. Because of his insurance he was already lost but his famous songs are left forever.

  • It's not good to diss the dislikers. diversity of opinion is a good thing! let's celebrate it not say someone's stupid or gay or whatever just cause they disagree with you on a song.... that's just silly!

  • @swordsallday Listen to the good stuff...listen to it all....I do....but you are right this music will live on forever

  • @swordsallday i'm 39 and my 10 and 8 year olds have been told the significance of hank sr. they love listening to him. we get strange looks for blasting your cheating heart but Hank lives!

  • @swordsallday you got 'er pontiac! good for you man. keep on keepin' it real lol.

  • @swordsallday hey homie in from New Orleans. i went to school with Wayne. i listen to that. but this is classic. people will still know who wayne is in 10 years. and people will still get drunk as hell and listen to Hank Williams ;p

  • @swordsallday lol, hank is amazing, but you cant discredit wayne, his talent is of a different kind. Both are greats at doing what they do.

  • @mickolus54

Wayne is fucking hack. Disrespectful to all the great hip hop out there.

  • @swordsallday Right-on! Today's music doesn't hold a candle to most of these older classics.

  • @swordsallday Good 4 u Swordsallday!

  • @swordsallday NEVER let anyone tell you what you want to listen to.

  • @swordsallday those people who called you stupid should go jump off a cliff

  • @swordsallday you tell him to go to hell. legend of hank will live on forever

  • @swordsallday I feel your pain buddy

  • @swordsallday don't pay them any mind kid just play what you want to hear

  • @fish1648 Hi! Good one! I like to listen too....LOL.

  • @swordsallday Hi! It go'es too show they don't get good tones! LOL.

  • @swordsallday Do not know how old you are but keep that attitude! Hank is one of the singers that changed the music industry. If he made it in your heart keep him there he will never steer you wrong. I listen to all kinds of music from the WWI songs to Things like Lil wayne and Lady Gaga today. Music has always been my best friend. I am 45 and many a hard times in my life have been made easier by music ! Of all kinds

  • hank is my hero

  • what's the original jambalaya?

  • @dapithapon hey sweety this is the original.... this is the hank

  • @dapithapon I have this version on cd (Hank Williams 40 Greatest Hits). In the booklet they write thes songs are remastert (not recovered!) from the original tapes what had been redorded at Rose studies for the broadcast by their radio-station.

  • pretty fair talent from Montgomery Alabama I'd say ! I think you can tell by this song that Hank liked his brief stay on the bayou

  • your lyrics are so wrong you got crap in there that has never been in this song

  • comme la vita mesma, questo e dolce e senza tregua.

  • the best of the best and nothing fancy straight off the floor.

  • As a Canadian I would say this is one of the best songs.

  • niccccccccccccccccccccce

  • Some of you People should not be in the same room with Hank Williams Sr. it's the music! REMIXEd

  • @joebattyloveskay so they're certainly gay?

  • I think this song should be remixed using digital technology so they can add autotune to his voice, then throw in someone like Jay-Z going "Yeah, hell yeah!", and add some warbling arpeggio American I-Dull wanna-be background singers. Not.

  • @robtjonz Get The Fuck Out

  • I am not blind and I saw the "Not."

  • And be Gay- Oh.... Oh Oh

  • Pure country man.

  • a good song to laisse le bon temps rouler

  • @JarrodGoddard7 : Let the good times, roll, ami. ;])

  • @JarrodGoddard7 oui mon ami

  • @JarrodGoddard7 'Specially in this day and age, when les haricots ne sont pas salés.

  • es mejor esta version que la de BLUE RANGER

  • Hello, i don't know this song, the only reason i'm here is i typed "jumbalie codfishpie" into google dieing to found out...WHY my mother says this every FUCKING TWO MINUTES, shes not even singing it, she just says it while doing housework, i seriously wish this song was never made.

    Thanks

  • @KazukiKazama ...ROLMAO..

  • @KazukiKazama I wanna fuck your mom she sounds like a cool chick lol

  • @Denzel1916 I second that. We can split roast her.

  • @KazukiKazama Even better yet, your mother and I wish you were never made.

  • @steveymac69 Wow you guys are still going on about this, i wrote this months ago, you seriously need to get a life ^^ 42 Years old and talking like that, you sound like a 10 year old child, grow up you fucking old fogs

  • still one of the best. I'm from Manitoba, Canada, born in 80 and still drunk to hank.

  • That's "Fontenot", not "Fontaineaux".

  • Grew up on Bayou Teche, New Iberia, La. I knew some of those people. Spent some time on the Bayou. I know what the bayou was is to people. Big trees and moss dripping from them. Fun time. Street dance was fun until that stop it becaues of the changing times thought it would create fights wow what a time to grow up.

  • Best songs always are genuine songs of their region. No matter from what region in the world. No matter if ordinary folks or high end classic. Hank Williams created his songs while songwriters turned from Folks to that what we today name Country And Western. He ist one (or The one for his greatest fans) of the "Fathers of Country Music". C & W also is seen as phase between Folks and Pop(ular) Music and other styles of the last decades.

  • Sorri, should be for GuinnBerger one posting below of bcskotty...

  • @bcskotty: Hank Williams was a gospel-singer at church on sunday morning, this brought the too little base of earning money. Beside he tried anything, so singing the upcoming style of country and western music also. He had a contract with Accuf Rose at Rose Studies what broadcqsted for radio tuners unto the edge of the rocky mountains. The song here is remastered from tapes at rose studies when they recorded it first time. It has two verses, other interpreters after him added a third verse.

  • I recall the last verse as:

    "Settle down, far from town, get me a pirogue;

    I'm gonna catch all the fish in the bayou;

Swap my mon to buy Yvonne what she need-o,

Son of a gun we'll have big fun on the bayou."

But he didn't sing that verse here! Oh, well, it's a great old song and Hank Williams sang it super-great. Thanks for posting!

  • love him. Such a distinctive talent.

  • 14 months old yea..... come on get real.

  • What is this song about?

  • @eyesthatshine Bayou is a creek what's floating down to another creek or river. As I found in my dictionary it can also name a forest along it or a mountain-range along (for example Blue Bayou). And as my dictionary tells me there where villages and little towns what celebratet festivals (thanksgiving or others) aside this creek on a meadow as there was no problem to have space enough... The song as far I understand it tells the situation of a fellow looking forward to an event "On The Bayou"...

  • Hanks great music should be incentive enough for a music and cultural revolution to sooth the soul.

  • 34 people didn't have much fun on the Bayou.

  • in the words of my great uncle "There are these great musicians like Hank williams and Johnny Cash and then they got to go and die"

  • I just discovered this song and I LOVE IT!!!

  • son of a gun we'll have big fun on the bayou!!

  • @snowturtlegates

May be: son of a goon.

  • @noelvpressvideos sorry bout that, my husband accosted my utube acccout lol, He grew up Hank. lol

  • my mom has this as a ring tone

  • One example: for the word "CRAW" I must hear a "r", I don't. For "'CAUGHT" I must hear a "t" at the end and I do. On My CD "40 Greatest Hits" and at this upload. Probably we could discuss a lot. What cannot be discussed is Hank Williams himself who left any "eternal" songs at a life what unfortunately should not be copied, but never the less I'm one of his great fans (born nearly four years after he passed).

Due to the mistakes at the first posting...

  • @noelvpressvideos dude, it's just the accent. you should be thankful it wasn't sung by a Scotsman like me, you'd be lucky to make out any of the letters. ^_^

  • One example: for teh word CRAW I must a "r", i don't. For "CAUGHT" I must hear a "t" at the end and I do. On my CD "The Fourty Greatest" an at this upload. Probably we could discuss a lot. What cannot be discussed is Hank Williams himself, who left any "eternal" songs at a life what unfortunately should be copied, but never the less mn I'm one of his great fans (born nearly four years after he passed).

  • @noelvpressvideos But what would "Caught fish pine" mean?" Craw fish pie is a prepared meal.

  • @DagNabCanadians

dict.leo.org: " to pine for sth. sich nach etwas sehnen"

    long for anything or something.

He compares his situation with the caught fish who pine to feel it gamble.

This gives a sense what fits to what I hear at his articulation.

By the side: we do peacefuly argue and not quarrel, both is translatet bei "streiten" into german.

  • Super Song. But the text! Either one does not hear right or not understand englisch! Only one example: "The caught fish pine to feel it gamble"!!!

  • @noelvpressvideos "CRAW FISH PIE AND A FILLET AND GUMBO." its cajun food brother.

  • one of my all time favorites ive loved pretty much all his songs since i was 4 first song i actually remembered

  • Does any one know of" lillie ann show" that was on the radio when country music was on & me & my mother would fight over the radio cause I wanted to listen to the "LONE RANGER",We finally decided I could listen to radio every other day........I think I got cheated....., Wishing those days were back...

  • i must admit i at first thought country was b.s but after hearing hank i changed my mind quick

  • @killerlollipop01 A famous musician, I think it was Jerry Garcia, once said, let the youth have their own music because sooner or later they will turn to the good stuff.

  • great
