Olden day barbers really didn't do a lot shaving, they were actually like doctors you went to so they could cut you open and make you bleed, as most people back than believed that when you were sick you just bled out all the bad stuff. So really, killing their clients probably just had to do with the fact they were cutting them open rather than deliberately killing them.

yea dude. definitely not true... if you look back at that time period the murder rate was to low for half of the barbers in England to be killing their clients.

Well the original writer of Sweeney Todd argued that the man Sweeney Todd was real, but there is no evidence of him in any sort of criminal background. If anything they have found that the way Sweeney Todd killed his victims and the such seemed to be almost a combination of many other criminals put together. So for sure...no one really knows. It's still possible, but there is no way to be certain.
