I have followed the growth of this school for a few years now, and I have been impressed by many great features and achievements. As an organizational scientist, the key challenge is going to be sustainability. Economically, the school is facing problems. Probably, that will be overcome. How do you reintegrate these children who speak no Tamil or Kannada, eat pancakes and spaghetti fro meals; play piano and cello instead of veena or sitar. Is such alienating change sustainable? Desirable?
@SriFeb7 To correct you, the children are not completely separated from their native culture. They're back at home for about 7 weeks throughout the year, so they're fluent in their home language (in addition to English and Hindi), eat their home foods (which is also served at the school) and interact with children from home. While they might not have someone teaching Indian instruments or tala, they're not entirely westernized either.
