This is the first year for the contest. The last 3 years Vic was nice enough to take his time to make them for us.

So the contest rules state that the contest "ends on February 1st, 2010." Does that mean the last day to submit an entry is the first or that the contest was closed the second the date changed to the first of the month?

As soon as we decide who the winner is. Being the first year of the contest we don't have a clear window of how long it will take at this time.

Pre-Registration closes March 8th so that wont be a problem unless some extremely bazaar wrong things happen.

Also if the winner already purchased a membership they will be refunded the price they paid

the only technical issue might be the music since you don't list if you made it or got it from a website etc.

Oh, that shouldn't be a problem with the music. I didn't get it from a website. It was sequenced and created with music software on my computer. It would have to be by pure coincidence if someone happened to choose the exact same sequence of notes and beat samples to create the music, and register it for copyright also.

SO yeah do to that lack of 11 seconds on the last one we redid the commercial. different and with just two of us instead of the original 4. so yeah. this time its 30 seconds even! XD

The stock video footage doesn't load up in imovie. Is there anyway to bypass that or get a different file type to use in imovie?

Absolutely. I realize some of the files might be to large for some programs or the wrong format (since it is the highest quality AVI, and AVI was chosen since it is the most easily used for most people). What size (480, 720, or 1080) did you want to use it in and what format would you prefer. Anyone else having this problem i would also like to hear from since it will give me more of an idea what people need for next years contest

.mov or mpeg-4 will work nicely.

For size...probably 720. I'm not fully sure though.

As the entries are "make it a video response here" you will e able to see all entries by scrolling the "Video Responses" that will be attached to this video. Also entries we find amusing that don't win might be aired at sakuracon.

Actually the people in the commercials have to do with where it is being filmed and who volunteers from that area.

Actually because so many people said they could do better and we thought why not let them :) This way we also get a lot more people showing us what they think it should be like
