  • How many times can a case be reused?

  • HEY! I use the same collander to separate my media. Didn't make the wife too happy but it sure works good! thanks for the vid!

  • Awesome music! Sounds like my iPod on shuffle.

  • about how much does it cost to get started?

  • RCBS is great reloading equipment

  • how much did the items cost to reload the ammo

  • I'm thinking about going with .260 rem but ammo is a big problem. How much would i need to spend to start hand loading? I probably should go with 308 .

  • @Blindshot69 - I never had anything in .260. .308 is a good round. Well start cheap with reloading kit and if you like it then go pro.

  • Love that he's playing a little 'Zep in the background as he works.

  • What ammunition are you reloading?

  • @TheOutdoorsman45 - .308

  • does doing this save yu money??

  • @adsllt237558 - yes

  • wow aint ten reloads pushing it.i usually only go 3 mabe 4. damn nice equipment though. i have to hand measure my powder and debur by hand. i also use my debur tool for length..it takes a long time to reload. someday i hope to get better stuff..love seira game kings also and rcbs dies.

  • do you need to tumble it or is there an alternative

  • @starwarsman96 - Lately I've been using ultrasonic cleaner and it works great.

  • I wish i had some of the tools in your shop.

  • this must be the most manliest thing in the world!

  • which tumbler your have? Thing sound really quite

  • @unclemings - Cabelas

  • How many times can you reload one cartridge? Awesome taste in music by the way!

  • @CRFbadass - Thanks! Around 10. More if you neck size.

  • Do you crimp your rifle brass? I usually do for consistency, but you didn't have it in the video... Thanks, nice vid!

  • @drfroglegs - I don`t.. Only pistol ammo.

  • what is chamfering? im reloading my fist batch ever this week and its a little confusing

  • @nccamokid - Chamfer and Deburring is after trimming cases to removeing the burrs that is created and sharp edges on the inside and outside necks of cases.

  • I am really curious about the sequence in steps performed. You are really trimming to length, chamfer and deburring before you actually size the case? How do you know what the final length is going be be if you are trimming before re sizing (in which is the step that will make the case longer)?

  • @MrUtahShooter - Neck sizing won't scratch the brass.

  • Good quality work mate - Have you had a look at the Targetmaster automatic trickler system?

  • @allan10661 - Thanks! Not yet.

  • thanks man, very informative.

  • is the gray powder is the gun powder ?

  • is the gray thing is the gun powder ?

  • @deluxes000 - yes

  • Nicely done, but there are some steps that technically are not needed.Just offering some suggestions from a Benchrest Shooter. Once you uniform the primer pocket and flash hole there is no need to do it after each firing. A high quality powder measure will do the same as weighing the charges out and speed up your loading. Also, a C-clamp on your case trimmer will make that process a lot easier. And I'd trim the cases after they are sized.

  • Very instructive video, thanks VERY much for posting it! Would love to have a shop like yours.

  • i love your taste of music! and this is a great video thank you so much!

  • How long did you have to run the walnut shells, to get them to quit leaving a red residue on the brass? or did you clean them in some way. I bought lyman walnut media and it left everything red including my tumbler.

  • @lilwedgie80 - That is an excellent question! Lyman turbo cleaning media treated tufnut , It does leave a slight red residue on the brass, You can rinse that with warm water just make sure the brass is dry on the in side before you start reloading.

  • @ColdFusion0 wow, you're vid is so close to the set up I'm trying to make it's scary even to the Lee O-ring press, I got a Savage 10FP in 308, and have everything I need to reload... just haven't found the time for it yet... (your scale was gonna be my upgrade too)... Hornady Match 175gr BTHP Match I was able to get 1/8-1/4 MOA on... just curious what powders/bullets have you found work well? ...and with what results?

Even if you don't reply, Thank you Very Much for making this vid.

  • wow!!! I thought I was the only one that was this obsessed with hand loading. what do you use as your media in the cleaner?

  • @Mauser98Man - walnut shels

  • @AlbertoGaleazzo - Obrigado!

  • @Gunshooter3 - I like high accurate ammo

  • @ColdFusion0 I have shot 1/2 MOA with ammo ran thru my progressive.

  • @762gunr he likes shooting .2 moa :)

  • i noticed you don't crimp,why

  • @mitchellcorp - You dont always apply some pressure to the handle when you crimp.

  • shit you have a lot of gear!

  • Can i have some ammo

  • I am sure this question has been asked a hundred time but roughly how long does it take to load 50 round, besides tumbling the brass, with a single stage like that

  • If you resize and deprime before you trim, then you can chamfer in/out and take care of the primer pocket at same time.

  • Whats the name of the song at 5:50?

  • So reloading your own ammunition doesnt change accuracy in any way? or is there some minimal expectancy of slight deviation at long range?

  • @UMRem300 Hand loading is more cost effective as well as way more consistent so in turn it does affect accuracy but if your content with factory loads there is nothing "wrong" with them.

  • Just wondering why you trimmed the cases before re-sizing? Always thought you should trim after re-sizing since the re-sizing may actual "change" the size of the case.

  • What is happening at 1:17?

  • @suddenlyill - trimming the brass

  • @ColdFusion0 Why not trim with the RCBS Case Prep Center?

  • @suddenlyill - how?

  • @ColdFusion0 I recently saw this guy do it in this video: youtube .com /watch?v=d81l62J1VmI

  • @suddenlyill - Thanks! That is more time consuming. I use that same trimming on 7.62x54R.

  • @ColdFusion0 Just curious, what's the name of this case trimmer? I checked out Midway and it like the Forster Original Case Trimmer...?

  • @suddenlyill - Yes, Forster Original Case Trimmer. The Forster Classic Case Trimmer is for brass with larger heads like 7.62x54R and up.

  • @ColdFusion0 Sorry a few more questions: what are you using to measure the powder? Does it auto-measure and dispense?

  • I find this extremely impressive.

  • how much did your kit cost and what make is it. what else did you have to buy extra with it.

  • how much did your kit cost and what make is it. did you have to buy anything extra after you bought it.

  • Does the Led Zeppelin increase the accuracy of your rounds ?

  • @goindownthe1road - :) Gets the lead out.

  • i have been reloading for years and found that berger TSX bullets perform wonderfully.

  • @UnsungHero913 - Burger bullets are great!

  • wer da U ged all da stoof

  • @jackthelad234 - In the store or online

  • awesome music bro

  • your press is real wobbly... make me less worryed bout mine

  • =O you going to war dude? still nice video

  • That is one hot piece of brass.

  • how do you like the hornady sst rounds?

  • @tyjezowski - They are ok.

  • great video nicely done,\

    another video of interest is

    ($300 Dollar Bullet)

  • cranking the purple while reloading ammo aint nothin' like it

  • so for a guy with so much invested in his setup why not spend the extra 20 bucks for carbide dies and save having to lube your cases for resizing? (Just got a kit and haven't even started loading yet so I'm wondering if normal dies with lube have an advantage over carbide, you seem to know what your doing so i thought i'd ask)

  • @tyjezowski - On the bottleneck cases lubrication is still required. I use carbide dies on handguns.

  • - I'll add that carbide dies on rifle cases aren't recommended for one reason alone. Case studies have shown that 1 out of 30 odd rifle brass that have been sized with a carbide die have a case bulge at the base near the rim. This is due to the case being rippled, if you will, while sizing in the carbide die. There is one company who will be releasing a new version of a rifle carbide die at shot show next week. I can't go into specifics for obvious reasons... it hasn't happened yet. :)

  • Looks like you trimmed it before you resized it. Aren't they supposed to be resized first?? Don't they get a little longer when you resize them?

  • @SeanBoburk - Not if you neck size only

  • great video. I didn´t know how to reloading the ammo!!!!!!!!!!!

  • great work but i would suggest a sturdier work bench it looks like its gonna snap in half when ur resizing. nothing like a cold day drinking coffee, reloading and listening to great music.

  • great work but i would suggest a sturdier work bench it looks like its gonna snap in half when ur resizing.

  • 00:26 led zeppelin

  • fuck no wonder why ammo is so expensive...

  • I really wanna do this but I think its cheaper for me to buy the ammo. How much does the equipment cost.

  • That's a hell of a work.

  • I wanna do this when I get older

  • Does anyone know where I can get 8.15x46R ammo?

  • you like music! haha

  • I'm also curious about the powder scale you were using and its functionality. My friend ordered an expensive digital scale, but sent it back, as its consistency was anything but accurate, but was aware it was made in China.

    Best regards and thanks

  • Very good video!

When resizing your shells, we would have liked to have seen how you adjust the cutter for the correct length or a narration of it as you work through the different processes.

    Best regards and thanks

  • Sure is 90's alt rock in here. Reminds me of being a kid.

  • A fun video to watch!

However, some of the equipment you used is unfamiliar, but having your advice on what you know about them may have been helpful in offering your expertise and advice. Personally, I think I'd lean a little more toward the automated system, knowing there is still the other tasks. Nice job!

  • for someone whos new to this. the challenge seems daunting.

  • why are you trimming the brass before you resize it?

  • i like the zeppelin in the background

  • @jak9200 and the Floyd!

  • What size is that? Looks like 30-06.

  • @bandman232 - .308

  • Great video! Whats the RCBS tool that has 4 attachments that you're using called?

  • @NeveSSL - RCBS Trim Mate Case Prep Center

  • @ColdFusion0

    Thanks!

  • Congratulations!

  • have you heard of anyone useing rice in the brass cleaner? Ive done it, works well.

  • @ninjabob52 - Yes, rice works.

  • Nice detailed precision work, very nice !

  • @ferks60 - Thanks!

  • What are you doing around 1:24?

    Thanks for the great video

  • @jeremy10jones - Trimming the brass

  • Good Music !

  • 8:00 me smiling cause of the music

  • with the 308 i was wondering how many reloads can you do with neck sizing only?

  • @derekdl7rock - If you don`t do hot loads (maximum load), over 20 maybe more. Just make sure there no cracks on the brass.

  • @ColdFusion0 alright man thanks

  • You are a man of few or no words. Love your video and thank you for the reply. You have an awesome collection of hand pressed rounds. Love the music mix too. Thanks cold fusion!

  • do you use different gun powder for pistols? Im new to reloading. I just got a lee single stage press. Also starters, Is it the same starter for 9mm, 45acp, and 223? Thanks for your help.

  • @augeight - Yes, fast burning powder. Take look at my other video -

Casting, Reloading & Shooting 45 ACP Bullets

  • damn i wish i had all that reloading stuff i want to reload so bad but is just not cost effective for my shooting

  • I love his taste in music.... all the good stuff.. Floyd, Zeppelin..

  • how can you reload for accuracy without beer?

  • how much does them machines cost for that? and how much do they save on cash?

  • @skateboy159 A good basic rifle/pistol set up will cost you about $400-$500 for the equipment and supplies for your 1st caliber. Additional calibers will normally cost less than $100 for dies and such. For common calibers you can save 1/3. For more exotic calibers 1/2 or more. The key word is basic. Fancy electric stuff costs more.

  • do you trim your 308 cases to 2.005? and why dont you lube the inside of the case neck?

  • @derekdl7rock - Yes I do trim the brass. On this video I`m neck sizing only. You need to lube inside of the case neck onlu if you full size and the die is getting stuck on the way out.

  • OMG you have a lot of guns....

  • this guy's taste in music is just freakin' awesome!

  • If I start out with a really good reloading kit for a .308 and .223 (unlimited funds) can you suggest me with one? I don't like the turret reloading kit from Lee... thank you sir...

  • @koolmike79 - RSBS is a good choice for me. Some people at the range love Dillon.

  • looking at your video makes me drool... I'm researching so I could reload my rifle ammuntion in the future, I hope I you could help me out someday if I run in a somekind of problem... great video... god speed...

  • nice setup, and i like the music :)

  • i have a.338 lapua 110ba and im thinking about reloading what would be a good powder for those 1000+ yard i debating on a 225 grain or 200 dont know how exactly how match for accuracy have to do some reading what would you say would work good video

  • On long range heavier bullet maintains velocity better.

Use 225 with near max load.

    Winchester Supreme 780 - 91 grains - 3000 fps

  • Hmmmm, people tell me I need to learn how to reload, but that sure seems like a lot of work! I'm trying to decide if it is worth the investment. I do not shoot a lot, but I do like the idea of maintaining a healthy storage of rounds. Having skills as a reloader (and the tools to do it) certainly seems like a it could be a high-value skill if shortages become a problem!

  • Awesome taste in music man.

  • you got good taste in music dude

  • 0:30 shiny...

  • odd thing i noticed in this video haha, your listening to the same songs that my father listens to when he is in the shed... well he actually listens to recordings.

  • What kind of reloading kit do you have? I've been looking at hornady and such some are around 300$ other 900$... whats something good to start with for reloading 308. 223 45 and 40 calibers ??

  • Hornady kit is good. I have mix idems from all companies.

To start 300 is good. My first reloading kit was Lee 89$ Cabelas special.

  • I used to reload a lot when I was shooting NRA Highpower. I always loathed doing it however. Those little .223 casings just aren't any fun to reload. Lubing them and resizing was a major pain in the ass. I don't mind reloading straight walled hand gun rounds though. The RCBS carbide dies are great for those since you don't have to mess with any case lube.

  • I'd recommend placing all of your brass neck down in the reloading block prior to powder charging. Then turn them over one at a time when you charge to avoid accidentally double charging any round. With a .308 you are fairly safe but with some pistol rounds it is possible without noticing the double charge.

  • All rifle brass i use has room only for 1 charge. Yes the pistol brass has room for 2-3 charges and is easy to make a mistake.

  • how many times you can reload the same brass?

  • I use same brass at least 10 times.

  • @ColdFusion0 What's the deciding factor? The condition of the case, or calling it quits at a certain number?

  • When the primer goes in loose and look for look for cracks on the brass.

  • A good hunter is better if he uses his own supply of ammunition - Sgt. Reznov

  • Thank you for making this video !!!!!!!!!!!! so much to learn!!! I have 5 reloading books and Im used to .45 (Ive done thousands of rounds) but this is my first

    attempt at .223.

  • Nice music selection! ;)

  • Just wondering, how much less it costs to reload your ammo, compared to buying new ammo?

  • 50%

  • I heard a couple awesome songs in the background.

  • Why do you have the table carpeted? I'm just starting out reloading and I'm looking different ways to set up my bench. Looks like you have a good system going. Does the carpet keep the brass from rolling on the floor or what?

Also, where do i get my hands on one of those motorized chamfer/deburrer that you have?

  • nice setup even had good music playing in the background

  • Why are you trimming before you FL size?

Cases get longer when you size them...

  • nice video. i am a keen shooter myslf btw whats the song starting at 1.32

  • Nice reloading music!

  • best reloading vid by far very nice set up

  • Hi,

Thanks for the info, although i have been reloading for about a year i still consider myself a learner. I must admit i only uniform the pockets once and same for the primer hole internally. To clean carbon deposits etc i did use a small soft wire ( brass etc ) type rotating brush as this only removes deposits and does not affect shape & size etc.

What i have been doing recently is trying out ultrasonic cleaning with some pretty good results. Once again nice vid. Cheers

  • Nice vid but couple of questions, when you chamfered the internal primer hole why did you do it from the pocket side as well?

Also why didn't you use the primer pocket uniformer to square all the pockets?

    Cheers

  • Pocket uniformer makes the hole bigger and after few times the primers become loose. Chamfered flash hole remouves carbon build up from bench rest primers.

  • where do you get the stuff

  • Very well made video mate! Only suggestion I have and it's something that helped my process was put a little Lee die grease inside the resizing die to stop the die jamming when decapping and sizing. I reload .308, .223 & .243 and I love it! Nothing more satisfying then pulling the trigger on a big pig knowing you made the round! Keep up the good work!

  • Handloading is the only way to go. Lapua brass.... Nice!

  • sweet, 8:00 whats the song agian! lol its a good song:D

  • little bit of bob seger in there too

  • 4:37 Im a cowboy baby I love Kid Rock Im from Detroit so you got to love him

  • Nice reloading bench-- I am so jealous. Great video.

Have you tried Vihtavuori powder to go along with those Lapua cases? It costs a bit dearly, but apparently 40gn pushing a 150gn Lapue MEGA or Scenar is the mutt's nuts for .308 accuracy.

  • I will try that. Thanks!

  • i digg the bon jovi

  • Awesome, Butthole Surfers!!!!!!

  • Thank you

  • This is a very well done operation. I do my .308 sniper rifle loads pretty close to the same (same amount of steps atleast). 1 inch group at 300 is a fair grouping given wind speed and minutes. One thing I do have to laugh about, the perfect music intro at 7:55. Spinning that bullet with that song made me laugh a little. Great Vid ColdFusion0!!

  • ahhh hell yeah leplin and some brass at :30
