I think Lewis won a championship a bit too early. He is probably 1 of the better drivers in the race. But since he won a championship he seems TOO confident. All drivers make risks when overtaking, theres always a risk when 2 cars pass at almost 200 MPH. The issue is that if something does go wrong, hes so confident in himself that he will deny that it was his error, even if it blatently was he fault. And because hes more willing to take higher risks than others may be a mistake is more likely.

Same happens with everyone. Vettel has a similar Overtake:Crash ratio to hamilton its just that Vettel makes very few overtakes because he is in my opinion a bad driver. If he crashed in Q1 he would not get any points at all. His technique when overtaking is a shambles, he look like he thinks its easy when its not.
