everything has had its day - i think by the sounds of it the STAGE HOI production unit is just not enjoying the same ''fresh'' and spinetingling anticipation u got from the 1970's-1990's wen HOI was IMO simply ''breathtaking!!'' my bro and sis travelled the world with HOI and we still watch TULIPMAY's vids on here - and they reminisce.. but seeing these new ones - it just isn't the same and NO ONE ever complained about HOI backk in its day - it was a treat -a magicial treat

mmm kirillmortnev...you have 18yo....I have 19yo, Only i say, the new Shows of HOI, looks like a stupid Van Helsing's Dream.

Stage/HOI every year since "Fantasy Show", presents a worst show for a next season... Fantasy (-5), Romanza (-6), Mystery (-8), Spirit and Energia (-9).

2010...is a important year for HOI (Or Change the concepts in his shows or Disney on Ice, could take the title for "The only and the first class on ice show"

So, here we are, after 6 months of "Energia" on tour....

Paris engagement : not one word in the french press (and disastrous reaction of most of the audience). Nice engagement : cancelled (not enough bookings !). 2nd year french tour : cancelled...

Chorus reduced again next year, in every division : from 36, then 30, they are now going down to 23 !

We were right when we said that STAGE ENTERTAINMENT IS KILLING HOLIDAY ON ICE !!!.

K.O. for HOI/Stage Entertainment, and i heard recently Holiday on Ice was cancelled too his tour on Latin America, because New Ice Capades and Disney on Ice are taking the rink in our countries. (From México to Argentina)

In the new HOI shows, i like the light (they spend a lot of money on it), the sound and music, the numbers (for example Cezar and Cleopatra in Romanza...), some of the costumes are better (for example in Diamonds), some new ideas are better than before. Years ago HOI spended the money on costumes and props, but the light was very primitiv, and the music was almost only from Broadway musicals (it was booring for me...).

Dear Kirillmortnev, I agree with you : the old HOI used a lot of Broadway musics. But you cannot say that lighting was primitiv ! they just used the technology of those times. Holiday is one of the first touring shows which used telescan in 1988 (around the world in 80days) . If they had had the lights and sound technologies of today, Ted Shuffle and Stephanie Andros would have done marvels !

In Russia, shows like Peter Pan, Bugs Bunney and Alladin were a total succes, the buildings were filled all... but, Fantasy and Romanza weren't, i saw it my self... (in Russia HOI after a long pause came only in 2006, and nothing exept HOI weren't in Russia at all (i mean skating shows), and people were dissapointed about Romanza and Fantasy (it's weird, because almost all of them havent's senn nothind exept it). A lot of my friends senn Energia and they liked it (exept the costumes)

People have different tastes. I don't like the cheap kid's shows (exept Peter Pan - this one is the best from the Kids shows). The 50 years HOI show in 1995 was made whithout Van Den Ende came after this show, but i think from that year the show was loosing it's glamour, there were a lot of modern things.

I think, that it is time to change the creators... because the shows are getting to look the same, as it was, when was David Baker... the shows started to look the same...

I have seen all of it in Europe... HOI is playing Russia for about 3 years till now. My parents were working in HOI. Ok, i don't like the Elements show, but Romanza, Hollywood, Fantasy, aspecially Diamonds and In Concert are very good (it looks like Cirque du Soleil because of the creators. Roberto Rosselo makes costumes look like them....). Of course the glamour is lost (not like Magic and Illusion or like even Banjo Balalaika). I was acially in HOI almost all my life... since i was 1, 5

Hi! Holiday On Ice IS Broadway-Glitter and Glamour and Tons of Fedders and Brilliants...this makes the Show so fantastic, and the Costumesw of the new productions look very cheap-they could be modern but the most Creationsa look katastrophal.

And Holiday On Ice should not be a Copy of Cirque du Soleil....Some Parts and Costumes from the new Productions are very good, also Light, Stage and Sound, but for Example the Opening from Elements is only Cheap, and that has nothing to do with the 21 century. Talking about a Great Production Shows, in Las Vegas only survives "Donn Arden's, Jubilee" and in Paris, Moulin Rouge...because the Lido have a "New Generation Show" (Boring, Cheap, and identical like the New HOI Productions)

The Glitz and Glamour is ending for this shows?

I went to see the show in Hamburg. Nobody liked it. The people left disappointed and annoyed, saying: "This was the last time", "what a waste of money", "never again" and "what a shit"! Cheap and tacky costumes, weird music and poor light effects. They didn't even have fireworks in the finale! What a shame to see the show dying like this!

j'ai également hâte de voir cette nouvelle production. Ces autres personnes jugent avant d'avoir vu. On est en 2008, regardons vers l'avenir. Et au vu des reactions du public, ce n'est peut être pas si affreux!!!

Désolé, mais on peut regarder vers l'avenir sans se contenter de divertissements à deux balles ! Stage Entertainment sait investir de l'argent lorsqu'il le veut bien (ex: le roi lion)...ce qui n'est pas le cas pour Holiday On Ice. Depuis 10 ans, le résultat est là : de moins en moins de public, des tournées écourtées, des critiques de professionnels dévastatrices... Alors oui, on ne peut que regretter l'ancien Holiday On Ice et son phénoménal succés sur les 5 continents....

Ce n'est pas sur un court extrait que je me base, mais sur le spectacle que je viens d'aller voir en première à Hambourg comme chaque année. Alors, en bref : manque d'imagination, costumes lamentables (Roberto Rosello nous avait habitué à mieux), spectacle sans émotions, patinage de bas niveau, musique par moments insupportable (du canadien René Dupéré), animations de patronage,...Seuls les éclairages sont, une fois de plus, réussis...

Effectivement, montmartre18, seul le public jugera. Et c'est bien cela qui m'inquiète !!! A Hambourg, la Color Line Arena était encore moins remplie que d'habitude... Et tous les fans de Holiday le constatent : de moins en moins de spectateurs, aussi bien en France qu'à l'étranger. C'est bien pour cela que je considère que Endemol/Stage Entertainment sont les fossoyeurs de Holiday On Ice, car ils vont vraiment finir par tuer ce monument du spectacle....
