  • Great idea! I'm going to go get some beads tomorrow.

    Thanks you,

    Bob

  • I would not recommend putting these into the cell itself. Should work fine in reservoir dry cells though.

There are safety issues involved as I learned with the wet cells and it is messy to maintain. The beads will convect out to the top of a wet cell and clog up the outlet if you are like me and forgit to PUT A MESH over the outlet tube. They will then clog up the one way valves and this back pressure led to my top blowin off the tube. No harm though as I was lucky enuff to catch this. :)

  • If you git them from a pool supply house or a craft store make sure they are not coated with anything! Get pure PP resin or HDPE. Some of the resin is coated with or infused with another material that helps in filtering algae in the case of ponds, or has been infused with a fragrance as in some of the beads for the dolls. You dont want that material. You want raw natural PP or HDPE. No colerant agents either as all of the above will add iron and other chemicals that can leech yer system.

  • I like the poly beads. I have been using bronze wool to do kinda the same thing. I think the poly beads are doing a better job then my bronze wool.

Where do you get poly beads?

    I LIKE IT !

  • Micheals craft store sells a product called poly beads. Its 100% polypropelyne. They are used for beanie babies stuffing. They are clear in color and size is roughly 1\32-1\16. I will go to the shop and get sku #s if necessary.

  • At the moment I am trying to line up a deal with a resin manufacturer so I can order the resin 100lpb at a time. From my results so far they do work but they would be too much hassle in a Smack type design in the cell itself and you cannot use these in dry cells. Bubblers, reservoirs, condensers are fine though. Plus they are washable so you can backflush them or clean them if needed.

  • Nice work Bing.

  • Thanks Luther.

For you guys that asked for some resin to test I will start shipping out bags Monday. I had a trying time at work this week so that put me behind. I apologize. I need to clone 3 more of me or sumthin. LOL

I am very interested in what you guys do with the resin with the high output dry cells.

Keep experimenting fellers! Everything we do weather it be right or wrong puts us one step closer to our goal.

  • sweet good job. I found similar results. I need a bigger drier and use more poly.

    GOD bless
