  • Step One: Read my footnotes on my mic and then upload to YouTube. Okay!

*sarcasm*Wow I know so much about SE, thank you!*sarcasm*

  • ah..the art of modern digital matchstick com men

  • "Social engineering," for decades, was what, for example, the Education Establishment has been doing to the country through the schools. (Dumbing down is a common name for the results.)

Well, both definitions allude to dishonesty and disingenuousness.

  • chuck norris doesnt do social engineering... he knows what ur thinking

  • Well, this was a waste of time.

    - read definition

    - reiterate definition

    - put on youtube

    - ...

    - Yeah, that's pretty much it.

You thought it was going to be a ... PROFIT joke, didn't you? Well, it's NOT!

  • Blablabla Social Engineeeeeeeering blabla american shit.

    Kevin Mittnick is a Morron!

  • Is it Kevin Miitniickk narrating the movie? Who is the person talking?

  • I thought social engineering is influencing society through the media, films, advertising and things like soaps.

  • Correct. But here we are given only the definition as it applies to Information Technology because hackers are shy about calling it lying and deceiving and fraud.

  • Right now my Imac is jacked and they expect me to come asking for help. Vi skider ikke i nælderne og går ikke i fælderne:))))))

  • @Logic3G hehe gærne danske. vanlig gamer geek eller 31337?

  • I love Social Engineering on myspace, mostly in the role play world.

  • why? what do you do??

  • cool i would like t know more!

  • dude where r the rest of the lessosns?

  • Oh my gosh, I hate how people ALWAYS associate social engineering with computer hacking! It's not ALWAYS for hacking! However, it IS greatly used for hackers, but it's not ALWAYS hacking

  • Interesting video, but the definition is much too limited.

It should (or used to be) relating to structuring social systems and social influences such that the society under that system can be manipulated for various positive and negative reasons. Social engineering/manipulation has a much wider application - here it's a very narrowly defined to duping, really tricking somebody - nothing more than that.

  • couldnt ve said it better.

  • @plenum222 I think here, it (the term social engineering) is used to indicate the (engineered exploitation of the human) predisposition to be helpful (do work) as it is (or is not) applied in the informal transactions (water cooler moments) of a network "security" domain. And so disposed are my "fellows", that they labour to construct the manacles of their own enslavement, it would appear. I should like to suggest the faking of an extended and indefinite tea break.

  • I've met a few weak links in my time. Nice quality video.

  • Great Video

  • Great lessons... hoping to see more soon!
