  • In This Clip, From 0:02 To 0:27, It Was WKYC-TV's Channel 3 News At 5:30 Video Open From Wednesday Evening, January 16, 1985.

  • NICE intro ! The red LED digital numbers are simply awesome.WNBC had the same music, but without the red LED's.Local TV news today is incredibly boring.

  • The deceased Jay Miltner is v/o the WKYC-TV Station ID Preceding the intro to 5:30!

  • Love you Susan Howard.

  • That was a real corn ball intro. I would hide under the desk.

  • from wnbc-tv this is news 4 new york with chuck scarborough and sue simmons...

    /watch?v=Ctr7a1HHRPE

  • @DrSurprise That's because NBC owned WKYC at the time.

Del Donahoo and Tom Sweeney were rarities in that they stayed with Channel 3 for several decades during NBC ownership, otherwise the network operated WKYC as a "farm team" primarily for WNBC-TV (Al Roker was the most notable 'promotion.')

  • @myronfalwell You are very well informed regarding the local TV news industry.Prior to this Roker was at WTVH Syracuse which does not even have their own local news anymore ! (they get it from WSTM now).

  • she was 41 years old i was 21 she left behind five childred two older two younger

  • thanks for you respond. yes it was on live tv, tom sweeny and his news team were coming back from filming in ravenna oh when they stoped to film a car wreck, my mother was also there , and while they were talking a line of cars came down the road and hit her twice.was a sad day for a lot of people

  • Sounds like the opening music to News 4 New York.

  • It was. Only without the drum track, it seems.

  • The bass is missing as well.

  • Was this the last time WKYC has ever had a 5 or 5:30pm newscast?

  • I know in the late '80s-early '90s, they had the First Report. I know it didn't last long, but I don't know exactly how long it lasted.

  • Was this the last time WKYC has ever had a 5pm news
