@nicknsk8er the gauges frame, he made it himself so there are two extra gauges fitted, just behind the steering wheel, anyway i've put mine in cups where the clock used to be, it looks awesome
we all would but you can't deny it is much more expensive to do that. Swap seems pretty cheap but remember that if you buy an used engine it might need more money than you think. it also depends what HP is your goal, i personally think 250hp is just about right for an FWD and that you can easily get from a boosted GT. more HP makes it hard to use all the potential on the road, and then again, if you want more why wouldn't you buy a supra or something;)
i wanna kno where can i get a turbo kit because m about 2 get a celica gt but ur vid is the first vid i seen that has a turboed gt how much hp are u putting out with your turbo kit
the tuner shop i'm curenty dealing with is actucaly happier that i got a GT because if i had a GTS they said that i'd have to get some parts sent back to toyota so they could Prefabricate them.
with the monkey wrench stroker GT kit you can push 400hp, I have a gt turbo just put a vid of me running through all the gears up on a backroad, that blowoff valve is loud as hell, what kind of kit is it? mine is a hass with the biggest turbo they let me get
im kinda a noob with cars and shit but i am looking itno getting an 01 celica GT, so does this video mean i can put a turbo in a celica GT? cuz i was told that its not possible. answers please
I'm asking why you didn't turbo a GTS..and if I'm right I've seen you on NC, and you also put a six spd in it? That's what I was curious about, instead of saving it and just going to a GT-s and just turbo-ing.
because its just a hassel of going through selling the gt and then getting the gts, then u have to go through insurance and all that crap. instead he just brought a kit and install it in. theres not a lot of turboed gt so it makes it unique
Lol, it's really not that much of a hassle. I mean for the potential of pushing 350+ whp, I would turbo a GT-S. Plus you get the six speed stock, and a c60 trans isn't cheap. rear disc brakes...etc. Just not worth it IMHO.
I bought my GT back in 03 for $23,000 bone stock, damn near new, only 17k miles on it, and slowly modded it over the course of 5 years, 6 speed once my 5 speed died, rear discs, and about $7,000 worth of other mods. I would never get the price I paid for them back selling the car as a whole, and de-modding and selling stock would have been troublesome, time consuming and expensive getting stock parts back.
Trust me I looked into getting a GT-S extensively, test drove wuite a few, even had a load drawn up and ready but I decided I would be happier turboing my GT, and I have been.
And remember, with a GT or GT-S your still going to have to upgrade the internals to get past 300 whp safely, and 300 is just at the limit of what is a street drivable Celica, so I'm still good to go.
Yeah. It makes sense why you did it now. That's the worst part about FI. Doing it is not that hard or insanely expensive, but replacing new injectors, hoses, boost guages, pans, pistons, rods, etc. is where it starts to get expensive..
your windsheild is cracked bro

is the turbo kit the only thing you have done to the engine? if so how much hp are you putting out with just the turbo kit?

lilmexicanoboi14 3 years ago
Man I love Celicas just as much as the next guy, I owned a GT, but I don't see much point in turboing one when GTS are priced VERY similarly..
Sevenstringster 3 years ago
What does the price of a GT vs a GT-S have to do with anything?
My GT turbo is close to 230 whp where a stock GT-S is around 160.....I will smoke your similarly priced GT-S all day everyday.
Now if your asking why I didn't turbo a GT-S instead of a GT, it's a long story.
