I think some parts of the series are totally stupid and not even in the book(what is known to be very fictional )-for example, that claudius is caesonia´s friend and saves senator´s wives from being sold as prostitues...yeah right...claudius was such a good soul...........and the screaming of the women is very annoying, i wonder if they took one to dubb all....but i got to admit i was surprised to find anything like this at all in the web..thank u

@Kelly14UK Maybe Tiberius when he's wasn't at his private resort in Capri. Although ancient sources say Claudius had what was considered "correct" relations which to Romans meant women, which they regarded a bit more highly then what was said about the other Julio-Claudian emperors.

@edwardszzz You say it's ridiculous that the actors are speaking English. I expect it was filmed in English because 21st century actors don't generally speak ancient Latin and Greek. If they did learn the ancient languages the general audience would not watch it. The series would not make money - therefore it would not be made.

@vbabe11111 Take this series with a grain of salt....the real Livia only killed about half the people this series claimed that she killed...plus Tiberius loved his mother, it was not until 3 years before her death that both of them had a fallout with each other.

The overall story is true,but some of the characters are over dramatized and some events exaggerated or made up

This series which came out when I was 12 was by far the best series that has ever been broadcast and I really don't think anything else has come even close. the srcipt is part shakespear part greek tragedy, the plot keeps you toally hooked the characters fantstically drawn The actors all shine, Brian Blessed has never been better as Augustus, John Hurt genius as Caligula, Derek Jacobi obviously the stunning title role Claudius, a god like series!!!

I'm confused about the sequence of I Claudius. Please help me understand how you are numbering each segment. that you post. What does 2/10, 1/10, 3/10, represent? I'm not sure how to follow each posting in order to watch this series in order. How I want to see this series again!!! Please tell me what the number with the slash, and following number mean.
