I have the nvidia 9500,

ubuntu 8.10 and use to install the drivers went to System> Administration> hardware drivers and install the 177 version

Can you post a video of your problem? Sounds really strange to me.

Check your refresh rate, videocard and texture settings...

Sincerly I don't know why u have that issue since you've got the same config as me

when I use the Wobbly of compiz I get the edges with mountains, how are you've removed you?

well, it can depend on lot of things.

First: are you using an nvidia or ati card?

2nd: are you using restricted suggested drivers?

Under the Compiz general options, graphics tab, check "best" as texture filter...that's the only thing i've changed
