  • This is amazing! I can't believe these messages are told so frankly and without holding back. I know what I'm watching tonight.

  • After seeing the look on that thin woman's face when the large woman asked her "Tell me the truth, what do you really think of when you see my body?" I wanted to hear the thin woman's answer.

  • @TimmyGal That's great to hear. Watch the movie to find out! It's on Netflix, at many public libraries and can be bought on line -- see comment below.

  • @disfiguredmovie I looked on Netflix. It doesn't stream, but I got it in my list, so I hope to be getting the DVD sent to me soon. :)

  • i'm in egypt n cant find it here.. anybody knows where i can get it online??

  • @Gingerandcoco

It's at Amazon, but also at many other online stores: check "Disfigured movie" in Google Shopping to compare prices.

  • @Gingerandcoco and on netflix

  • They use to have this movie online but they removed it anyone know if it is still available to watch online

  • @genuinegal2009

    It's on Netflix Instant Play

  • I cannot begin to tell you how much I loved this movie. It had me laughing and it certainly had me crying. Touched me on many levels that I wasn't expecting. Absolutely amazing.

  • I love it I want to see it. :)

  • @DISFIGUREDMOVIE. Thanks I really appreciate it! =]

  • I really wana see this movie!!! I'm 15 n I'm trying to recover anorexic myself..... Is this movie on iTunes? I hope it is and if it's not can u put it on iTunes? Thanks

  • @DRiVINBYMUSiC It isn't on iTunes but it is on Netflix (instant and regular) and Blockbuster Online. It's also available in many public libraries. Best of luck with your recovery, take it a day at a time.

  • Just saw this at the ADTA Conference. So wonderful to hear you speak about the process. Will recommend to everyone.

  • @curlie645 Thanks! You were a great audience!

  • Loved the movie! I recommend it to anyone.

  • anorexia lessons? that's what WLS is for! size acceptance is the enemy of a multi-billion dollar bariatric and diet industry. fat hate was created as a tool to promote unhealthy diets and surgeries that can and do kill people every day.

  • 2:28 was kinda sexy :P

  • One of the best things I've ever purchased. :)

  • @frenchfry101 Thank you so much!!

  • could you tell me where i can watch this movie online (for free) please?

  • @willbeslim8

Sorry -- anywhere you find it for free, it's been ripped off from us.

(But if you have Netflix it is available for streaming instantly, and that's free!)

  • This movie looks really good.

  • @WretchedLivesWhite It IS really good!

  • aww I wanna see this movie!!! it looks so good

  • @LaMiaRinascita i have the link on my page to the full movie...

  • ;D DAMN They should've asked me! I'd rather gain 100 pounds than lose a hand!

  • @0Krusnik0 Problem is most people who say that launch into an argument about how 100 pounds would be "easy" to lose. Now I can't speak cause I've never been obese but something tells me any weight loss on that scale can be as hard as growing back a hand.

  • yes, u are a nightmare, an obsession, my worst fear

  • netflix has it on streaming

  • Great film. Has a pretty good sex scene too. :)

  • Wow. I really need to get this movie. I'm a professor who teaches Women's Studies. This film would be great for my class! I like the idea of exploring the complexities of size issues for women in our society. I love the idea of an anorexic and an obese woman envying one another. What great lessons this must teach! I put this video on my blog today (TheSkinnyOnline) so my readers can know this film exists!! Thank you.

  • best moovie ever!

  • Hey is that Ryan? The first Biggest loser from season 1?

  • Yes, it is! And he's really good in this.

  • Yes, it is! And he's really good in this.

  • does this film mention the health risks these two both have?

  • Not really. It's about the complexity of these issues, emotionally. There is plenty of information - some good, some absurd - out there about weight and health. There is also a documentary featurette on the DVD, discussing "Health At Every Size."

  • this movie is packed with goodies. it's dramatic, honest, funny and sexy.. it manages to clean up with some prejudice, by delivering facts in a direct, but sensitive way. and it's overall message is very positive.

a big thank you to the makers of this movie.

and all my love to the fat girls out there!

  • Eh, it was alright I guess. Think a bunch of thought provoking, intelligent, idealogical phrases about women's bodies crammed into a script lacking plot, characters or setting. By the end of the movie there had been so many densley packed messages thrown at me within long intervals that I couldn't gain an overall impression of the movie. I'm not saying that the movie wasn't smart because it hella was, just saying it wasn't much else.

  • It is awesome, awesome, awesome! The best movie on the topic I've ever seen. And...as someone who has had all the eating disorders (LOL), including obesity and anorexia, it really hit home. Very positive message at the end. PLEASE you have to see this and tell everyone about it!!!

  • Looks interesting. And I'm not even fat.

  • It does look very interesting. I will give this a shot.

  • i'm french, is there subtitles ?

  • I'm sorry, but no French distributor wanted to subtitle it. But it is an "all-region" DVD, so it will play in any country...if you speak English.

    Sorry!

  • too bad !

but i think i can understand english subtitles

  • I just added this on netflix. It looks sooo amazing.

  • If you like it, PLEASE rate it (highly!) on Netflix - the more four or five star ratings it gets, the more Netflix promotes it to other people.

(If you don't like it...just forget this whole ratings thing...)

  • wow this seems soo goood

  • this looks like a really good movie!

I live in australia and i was wondering if they sell it here? because i really really want to see this

  • Yes, the DVD is "all regions" - and it's sold on-line...can you buy through Amazon in Australia? Or search "disfigured movie" in Google Shopping for the best price. Thanks!

  • I ordered this on Amazon yesterday after only seeing halfway through the trailer. It looks really good.

  • Excellent movie.

  • can you rent this video yet?

  • Absolutely! It's available on Netflix, and also in Hollywood Video chain stores, and Blockbuster-by-mail.

  • "I want anorexia lessons."

    wtf?! lol okay...

This movie seems interesting. Kinda. Maybe I'll come across it soon enough.

  • I wanna see this movie soooo much!!

  • We WANT you to see it sooo much! Rent it! Buy it!

  • where can i get this movie

  • It's on Netflix, and at Hollywood Video stores. Some libraries apparently have it, too.

You can buy it at quite a few on-line stores, try looking up "Disfigured Movie" on Google Shopping for the best prices

  • This looked interesting until I watched this trailer. It looked like a faux documentary with bad acting.

  • Hmm. Can you name some trailer-acting that seems good to you, to compare? Maybe we just like different kinds of acting.

  • Wow. This looks great

  • why the name disfigured though?

  • Hopefully, it makes people think - about what is beautiful, about how rough our pop-culture's ideals are to live up to, and how people who don't fit in are treated. It's supposed to be somewhat funny, somewhat uncomfortable, and somewhat thought-provoking...like the movie!

  • I usually don't give a hoot about weight issues and body imagery (completely removed from my sphere of concern, both culturally and academically), but this actually looks damn interesting.

  • Omg I <3 this film! It has really changed my life. Words can't describe how touching this was for me.

  • This movie was eyeopening, fresh, and honest. I think every woman should see this at least once in their lifetime. Especially those with body image issues.

  • This was a great movie. It brings up a lot of conversation starters and it's nice to have a movie that is refreshingly honest. Even though it's a lower budget film, it's message rings truer than any high budget blockbuster!

  • This looks incredible. As someone with anorexia for over 20 years, and afraid of getting fat myself, I still think that other women who are overweight are beautiful. There isn't anything wrong with being overweight. For me, it isn't about how much I weight. I am trying to disappear. I would think I was fat at any weight.

  • Thanks so much! Hope it helps you open up to how beautiful all types of bodies are. Best of luck with your struggle.

  • this looks amazing, i really would like to see it. i have battled an eating disorder for so long and have been struggling for recovery. it doesnt matter what my weight, i still see the distorted view of myself. i truly admire vuluptious curvy women who can be proud and confident no matter the size, and show people that they can be beautiful and wonderful women no matter what. i wish to be that in tune with myself one day no matter how i look. i think this movie will send out a strong message!

  • Ok , I SO have to see that ! Proud ''fat girl'' here !

  • Thanks! We'd love to hear what you think!

  • Thank you for making this available on netflix! I've added and moved to the top of my queuecan't wait to see it. It looks like it will be very interesting.

  • Let us know what you think - and don't forget to rate it on Netflix! (...well - if you like it a lot...otherwise just skip the rating part :)

  • Darcy's mouth bothers me...

  • Bother you just in general? Not a whole lot we can do about that, alas. But perhaps you should watch the movie. Her mouth is different in different scenes. As all of our mouths are, us humans. It's sort of a movie about that: how much we have in common, even when we look different.

  • No worries. Thanks! Hope you get a chance to see the movie.

  • Ok, seriousally...look, I thought it was a joke cuz of a group I saw. If it's real, then fine.

  • Well - yes, it's real in the sense that is' really a movie. I think you may not have realized that the "anorexia lessons" in the story are NOT supposed to be a good idea.

Check out the movie if you get a chance. It's very body-positive.

  • What in the hell are you talking about BraveNewGirl07?

  • What on earth could make think this was a joke. My Gods those bastards in the media have worked you over.
