im so thankful for this video!..lol i jus did mine...im hoping mine comes out as good as ur did! oh, i looooove those earrings!...where did u get them? if u dont mind me asking :)
Thank you I thought my hair had to be wet I have been natural for 5 years not an its nice to see someone on her with the same length and texture of my hair. I also love curls and wanted something new especially for the winter but I am looking into a lace front wig Im getting Thanks for the video
wow that turned out so pretty and yes i had been searching and searching for a video so THANKS!! I will give this a try and unfortunately my hair is not long and pretty like yours. It's short!!
@tarraall I'm glad the video could help - - and my hair definitely wouldn't be classified as "long" lol... but I think it's fun to create styles for every length of hair... not just long or longer.
very, very, nice! I'm a new subbie. Just wanted to know, how would you style your hair as a follow up? Do you wash the curls out or wear it the next day pinned up? Thanks!
@lulu13hb It really depends on the weather and levels of humidity in the air. Since it's getting cooler you could probably get more days out of this style by pin-curling or doing bantu knots at night. You could also use the flexirods again at night (however I think they suck to sleep in lol). As it gets older you can do an up-do style, and then once that's done, try doing flat twists to get the most out of your dry, stretched hair.
@b2hellokitty Hey!!! How are you? You're going to have to find me on Facebook if you're on there... shoot me an email: sixtwentysevenblog@hotmail.com. I need to catch up with you.
You said that you would recommend not sleeping in this style and just waking up earlier. How much earlier would you need to wake up to do this in one day?
@ThaSweetHart I would not do this style on a day I had to go to work... but if you were going out on a Saturday night you could do this style first thing in the morning and allow it to set all day, taking it out right before you left your house.
@tabithia1 Mine curls last a long time... but I typically don't wear this style for more than a day. You may want to try styling your hair wet so you can sit under a dryer and let the style truly "lock" or "set". Otherwise, you can do it dry, but you'll need to use some product that gives a nice amount of hold... also try leaving your flexirods in over night.
thank you so much! As i was typing it that part came up and then i just felt silly lol.
how long have you been natural for? and i would love to do this kind of style but my hair is kind of thin and short so would you recommend smaller rods?
@babystylez41 My last relaxer was in May 09 and I did my big chop in Feb 10... Given your hair I would probably recommend you using perm rods instead of flexirods. You can get relatively the same styles, but the perm rods come in a variety of sizes and you could more easily find something that worked for your hair. Sally's has them for under $5.
@babystylez41 Hi! If you look towards the end of the video I actually hold up each color and state the exact number that I used. Of course this isn't anything you need to stick too... you can feel free to use as many or as few that your hair length/thickness requires.
I LOVE the way this style turned out on you. I can't wait to try it. Good job, it came out REALLY cute, once you plucked them all out, a different look than the regular twist out fro we naturals LOVE to rock :)
@LegallyNatural I'm not really one to try and preserve a style at night... but if you wanted to make this last a few days I'd suggest adding a little moisturizer (whatever you like) and detangling the sections before you roll the hair on the flexirods again. In the morning you should be able to just fluff to your desire and go.
Nice! I'm transitioning and was just sitting here with my hair blown out thinking " what can I do to my hair for this week?"
