I played the bass rift on this track...................... Every weekend in the disco's that is.... Air Guitar style!!!! Yeeehaaaaaa Luv It brings back memories!.
this is officially my favorite video on youtube. what a great idea just having the record spinning! that's what I'd be doing if I had this record. just chilling and watching it spin!
The reason may be that, many moons ago, acts appearing on certain shows, especially Top Of The Pops, were forced by restrictive Musician Union rules to re-record their songs, though they could then mime everything. If the rules were followed, it was virtually impossible to recreate the original production. In reality, though, many acts were able to get away with going through the motions of re-recording the tracks but delivering the original mix!
I appreciate it! But we must admit the the highs are more brilliant up close and personal to the original machine!

Ahh yes, I have the original Stiff 45 in excellent condition with the picture sleeve.
it's one of my favorite Nick Lowe songs. The bass is great and it shows what a good player he is it was also produced by him as well.

I first heard this song on a compilation album called "That Summer" in about 1979. An excellent album that I have never been able to find again.
