Your U2 sounds are top mate, but one point I wanted to say about how yer playin the main riff... I think he uses a harmonic at the 12th instead of just pressing on the 12th fret. But cool nonetheless.
this is why it sounds rather clean. I prefer this sound as to hear the notes clearer. I love the SNL version they did. To me it sounds like the studio version
Great...what kind of PU's are in that Goldtop? Am I right in thinking that an Explorer is more limited in it's ability to create different tones, the Gold top nails it just fine.

yep thats it..Amp was cranked loud though to get it to break up as well as the level knob on the mem man cranked

I have antiquities in my Goldtop. The Explorer is a fine guitar and to me very different. I have mine in standard thus i used my goldtop for this
