I am now convinced that a theremin was an instument used in the original song XD. Seriously though the instrument sounds like is was used for the original song in this video. Well done to all of you :), although the flute did sound a little off but no one is perfect.

I loved it! It was truly beautiful. I play and guitar, my boyfriend plays the flute, and our friends plays the piano so all we have to do is recruit my sister (that plays the Theremin) and we can play this song!!!

@dominic9961 Actually it's nothing at all like a sonar, but if you are thinking of a radar then you are close.

The science of it isn't actually too complicated if you understand how electromagnetism works. Basically any current carrying conductor, in this case the antennae on the theremin generate a magnetic field. This field is affected by any object that moves into it, like how touching a radio antenna can affect its signal. A theremin converts this proximity into a pitch range.
