  • i am supposed to say that the video is blur until i saw the caption that it is actually in 3D! cool!... anyways, very educational video, ive learned a lot.

  • Great 3D Biodiversity is look good.

  • Look great 3D thank you.

  • 3D is so cool. Well done.

  • Thank you for sharing. Good work

  • This video is very informative

  • 3D is great

  • Thank you for sharing realvisionhomes

  • Good video.

  • Biodiversity 3D documentary is great.

  • Ouch! 4:07 actually hurt to watch fullscreen.

  • @CubanMidlifeCrisis Yeah it's mentioned in the notes section of the video :-) ..too lazy to upload the depth cut blended version. ;)

  • looks awesome on my 3d tv :D

  • haha the ducks at the lower left corner at 5:50 are mating XD

    Great 3D video!

  • Thank you for sharing. I have the StereoPlayer but prefer to watch it in true color 3-D on my iPad using the new iPad3D conversion tool. The movies play full color on all 2D displays and because it doesn't need FLASH, it's fine for all other video platforms, ie. vimeo.

  • Interesting feature and excellent 3D, especially in Dubois half-color. Are all those big buildings at the rear of the lake occupied?

  • i did an essay on biodiversity. i thought it was good

  • Gotta hire a voice actor next time, the text-to-speech is annoying and sounds cheap.

  • @KrykoStorm Cool! This was a self funded project, researched, scripted, shot and edited in 3 days all... by one person ;-)

    Next time I get a sponsor! :-)

  • Nature in 3D!!! Hope more nature-type documentaries are produced in 3D in the future.

  • It hurts a little if you use the cross-eyed method'

  • Excelllent et vraiment tres beau en HD. Thanks

  • Can i download somehow to KEEP the red/cyan style of the anaglyph?Or this isn't possible on this yt3d?If i try to dload, will be side by side(crossed eye)

    pls reply!

    ty

  • It will be in side by side format only.

you will need to use a stereoscopic player to play back in realtime (conversion is done in realtime from side by side).

    Google for "Stereoscopic Player"

  • This is possibly the best 3D 'duckumentary' I have seen... :-D

Even though the colors are best in ColorCode (when you don't have polarized glasses) I found it most pleasant to watch in optimzied Red/Cyan. There is just one part that my brain cannot properly interpret as 3D and that is when you show the close-up of the birds nest... once you zoom out it all feels good again..... great stuff to demonstrate the 3D feel

  • Thanks Gauchomar for your kind words. I love the title "duckumentary!".

You are right about the bad stereo cut on the bird's nest. There is no excuse for laziness. I just did not get down to editing that. (I had mentioned it in the info on the right.. but i know.. laziness is laziness)

    best regards!

  • The best 3D video I have watched, congratulations.

  • Thank you for the kind words. Wish you success in your 3D adventures too!

  • Thank you ComPH8 and wichoxp. All the best in your own productions in 3D! Do keep me notified of your work.

  • Excellent control of the stereoscopic window. I really like this video!

  • I saw it using "Red/Cyan: Dubois optimized" and it looks awesome... you can feel the same 3D depth as cinema movies... 5/5!!!

  • duckies!

  • cross eyed looks better but too small

  • This makes me want to get to 2 HD camcorders get them together on a block of wood( lens are eye length apart) then seeing the result...

    you inspire sir!

  • great video... bravo

  • I have a 22" Zalman Trimon monitor and can use it to view this in full-color and straight stereoscopic 3D with circular polarized glasses (using the proper "row interleaved" mode).

  • uberlol @ "emp"! XD

  • Nice educational stereoscopic video! Well done!

  • Thank you for the kind words!

  • This video is amazing when you cross your eyes and hold your hands up to block out the other 2 boxes.

  • Very cool man.

  • Thank you for your assistance, really appreciated.

  • Just back for another look, I fell this is one of the better examples on the tube right now, just looks so 3D with glasses on.

  • This is amazing 3D, I do have two identical cameras and will go out and shoot some footage to try to pull off a real 3D epic, I bet the 3D followers are really excited right now.

  • Your 3D video is great!

I have a Lanc Sheppard, and have experience with 3D Stereoscopic animation. What cought my atention is the format you publish it. ¿is it Flash? Is it a YouTube new feature? In my short experience the most hard thing on stereoscopic video is the postproduction, ¿is there a new tool out there?

  • Hi Voxelmultimedia, thankyou for the kind words. Yes youtube has got new "tags" that you put after you upload your 3d video. Upload it in side-side format and use appropriate youtube3d tags.

your video is uploaded as you would anyother video. Its the tags that will present a dropdown menu later on playback.

For post you can use anything, Premiere, AE, Vegas etc. All the best.

P.s shooting with two cameras in sync is the most important, (along with other considerations) when doing 3D video

  • Thanks a lot!

I've allready uploaded a video, side by syde and added the tag as you teachme.

The dropdown appeared, and i saw it with my "Cian and red glasses".

¿is there a way to cotrol parallaxing, since the effect is poor. When i made my original Anaglyphic video i remember i give some time to acheeve the correct parallaxing.

Thanks for your patience an support!

PS: I sendyou a video response so you can watch my video.

  • Thanks for posting this. Your stereo choices are very comfortable to watch. Did you use a slide bar or split-beam rig? It looks like your interaxial distance was close to natural, did you have any convergence? Nice zooms as well, are you using something like the LANC Shepherd or a spliced zoom remote (or rubber bands)?

Keep on posting, this is good work.

  • Thanks Ceeller, The rig was two Sony's AVCHD, Interaxial was around 4 inches (good form factor on the CX12s)

No convergence! not intentionally at least.. as far as i can help it.

a little bit of post work in AE to frame sync as after about a minute or two even with the LANC Shepherd there is drift .

The way to check for this drift is to playback in real-time in anaglyph and see if the red and cyan views are "dancing" or "lagging" on places where there is panning of the scene etc...

  • Thanks for the technical information. There seem to be differing schools of thought regarding interaxial separation and convergence both with side by side and split beam configurations. We'll have to start a conversation about this on Creative COW.

    Chris

  • For those with broadband connections try adding &fmt-22 to view this in HD.

Also if you can see the 3D menu choose the "optimized Dubios" method to view.(IE 7 and IE8 browsers sometimes have a bug so you may not see the menu!

  • very nice documentary (not the first though as you said in the google thread as IMAX made some ducomentaries like bugs3d and others) Very nice ducks! Though next time can you use your real voice?
