I peek at youtube videos re Scientology and it just blows my mind. I haven't been involved with any organizations ever. I have been approached in the past by a real good listener at a vunurable , emotional time. I think back and realize they wanted me to go to a meeting. I wonder how many cults are out there ready to pounce on the "wounded" ?
First of your videos I've watched. I subbed the other day on the recommendation of someone in a blog-tv chat. I'm hoping to find some time to work through your back catalog of videos.
I find this whole thing very interesting so thank you for the quality input.
You are delightful! I can't wait to see more of your videos.
I became very interested in Scientology in 1995 when I was 20- thankfully, as small as the internet was at that time, my research brought me to a newsgroup that told me the truth! I wish I could remember which one to thank them.
thanks anonoymous and all the people that were so very brave in the beginning. and also to those who never were or knew of scientology, but after visiting all your sites, have started telling more and more people about the abuses of scientology and Tory said it best with.....We the People....we are not going to be abused by any segment of the population....
What stopped the "church's" abuses were the "masks" worn by anonymous protesters. It prevented CofS from "fair gaming" these individuals allowing them to protest without fear. In the past, if you DARED to speak out against the church you would be attacked personally (for instance, all your "crimes" and "issues" would be put on a sheet of paper and placed under the windshield blades of every car in your neighborhood). Even though it contained lies, it would usually forced people to retreat.
@AmericanGayAtheist Well, per the facts, no---the masks were not what has stopped the abuses of C of $.
They are still using "fair game" in various areas, they're still breaking up families, lying, etc.
They hired Private investigators, tracked down many of the original Anons, it was SICK. The biggest effect
on $cientology IS the Internet, no question. That includes the Critics (who created the Web sites) and Anonymous. Plus, due to all: There is safety in numbers! :)
I met Cynthia Kisser when the original CAN was still functioning, the year before Scientology destroyed them. More of the public needs to hear about what happened to CAN. Keep it up, Tory, and congrats for Anonymous and all the pickets.
Tory, another great video! Thanks for the background. Please follow up on the story of Cult Awareness Network. I interviewed Cynthia Kisser for a cable talk show on several occasions in the mid 80's and did some video tapes for CAN. That was enough to gain the attention of an odd group of characters. I recall that there were people in the lobby once who wouldn't join the audience of leave the building ...and were being disruptive by their mere presence. Very childish, I though at the time.
I am listening to Marc Headley on the AM radio on coasttocoastam. Talking about his book , Blown For Good. He is telling about his escape on his motorcycle. Scientology thugs ran him off the road. Millions of people listen to this program. David Miscavage looks like greedy scummy cult leader
Wow guys, can you believe it's been three years already? Holy crap. Keep rockin' Scientology guys! Your protests are always a blast to attend. Never had I thought that I would be walking home from work and start dancing with a group of V's from Vendetta's shouting at a building. Absolutely a blast to an otherwise dull and depressing day.
Someone posted a photo on twitter today of the Scientology protest. It was taken from afar (and was positive in nature), but I'm pretty sure you were in the photo. Go Tory!
Haggis, whose last film was the Russell Crowe action vehicle The Next Three Days, made the comments Wednesday ahead of a public talk at the TIFF Bell Lightbox, where he was expected to discuss his career. Wright, who notes that Scientology officials have denied the allegations, is working on a book about the controversial church and Haggis's lengthy involvement.
Tom Cruise and the Church of Scientology are amidst an FBI probe as “secrets” were revealed by Paul Haggis, a hollywood writer/director and a former scientologist . According to various news sites, February 9, 2011, Haggis has disclosed that the church has been allegedly paying working members only $50 a week.

In the article, Haggis predicts that his attack will not be without consequence.
"My bet is that, within two years, you're going to read something about me in a scandal that looks like it has nothing to do with the church."
