Seen the show not where I would earn my money these days when I was younger I could have done that but now I have too much wrong with me to take on extreme weather as they do. I cant do any lifting after major back surgery. Pay is with any job you get what you can get them to pay you. Some companies don't pay but their rate and loose drivers for being obtuse. You don't do this job for the money sure you want to be paid enough but you better like it you give up everything for it.
Have you ever watched that show Ice Road truckers. Would you do that ? What do they pay those guys or people like you with Dangerous loads ? I'm a fan of your video's on Economics Canada :0) Come see me and we will have a coffee.
@zombiesrule1 That is very good pay but I still would not do it maybe when I was 100% I could have but not now I am too used up. I did get a job down here that paid $150K but it was 12 hours a day 7 days a week in a disaster area. I had to have special shots prior to taking job had to share a room and bathroom with 6 other men I was always the last to bathe and had to be the first to rise so I was burn out in 3 weeks. Drove a bus water truck fuel truck ran a tool room. Paid off my car though.
@RETIREMESOON Recall when fuel prices were very high I drove through Atlanta rush hour did the speed limit through the entire town on a work week and never had to touch the brake for another car. It is a fallicy to believe that everyone should have their own car. This happened in Atl Ga because they have MARTA complete with subway it is cheaper and faster to ride the MARTA. We waiste too much trying to expand roads we need to charge by the pound for cars so people would get scooters etc.
Hi Sean (love your name - same as my oldest) -- Leo's wife here. Just wanted to tell you that i love your instructional vids for truckers. Please do me a favor and stay off the margarine (hydrogenated stuff - really bad for you). Butter is better.
I'm an otr driver(5 years & just starting to cook in the cab. I bought a 12volt 43quart freezer for my truck(dang, they're expensive($730))& been precooking alot of meals at home, freezing then heating them up in the burton stove. I havent cooked with the burton oven yet but just bought one. Can you use the plastic tray types like Lean Cuisine. When you cook tv dinners do you remove the clear film on the top. Also do you let them thaw b4 you cook them & how do you place the thermometer. thx
I just used a refrigerator and carried2 week supply of food if I didn't use them I tossed them and was better than TS food. When I did my AM inspection I would poke the probe in the side of the meal so it would not leak and place it in the oven. Then I would eat a cold meal (cereal milk bannanna fruit bar) then get driving I would turn on the oven 30 min from from my break usually about 3 hours down the road from where I woke after eating I placed another meal in oven for when I stopped for PM.
The oven has had an issue the plug got too hot and melted the plastic housing around the plug in not allowing the fuse to seat properly Im reluctant to wire the device directly bypassing the fusing system perhaps I can do an inline fuse. Another problem the truck cig lighter was blowing fuse this is due to the tremendous load this device draws. This is not an issue in the OTR trucks I never had that problem they have better wiring and prevent these issues.
Good job, Sean! Hey- any place you can hang a bike on that rig? I haul one on headache rack, muffler-racks or in bellyboxes; it's a great way to get around when off-duty, get to real groceries & see local sights. Besides the low-salt and less caffeine, WE NEED MORE EXERCISE when driving! Also, work on reducing the carbs, fewer breadstuffs & margarine, and you'll be down to 180. I like the frozen stir-fry veggies & gumbos.
Keep up the great work, and remain safe & healthy!
And your point is? Look at age 19 I was 145 lbs 6 ft tall and smoked. I quit smoking started working out and was to 220 lbs under a year stout. I have lived in South Central Los Angeles for 2 years no one laid a finger on me because I respect people I hope you learn how to respect others some day. I am 40 have had my back broken in a tornado while working and still put in 50 to 80 hours a week working to build highways. Where will you be at age 40? Can you even make it to 40 with your attitude?
Say what to whose face I have been run over by a tornado hit by a car recently had a tractor trailer back into my truck and scare the piss out of me. Currently I am getting around with 2 caines can barely turn to hook my sealtbelt. This is my bad days on my good days I can ride bikes even power walk for 30 min but I am crippled for now. As for fighting what is a fight over vanity to prove who is the baddest MF in the GD graveyard yall want to fight go on I want no more pain than I already have.
I was talking about Keikofromelbow's comment to you. I can tell you're a badass mofo! That's why I'd love to see him say that to your face. Right on, bro!
To be honest I have had very few occasions of fighting but have survived attempts by bloods, armed robbery 3x houston. Jefery Dahmer tried to pick me up when I was 13 offered me a drink I declined his offer and said I rather walk. I have hitch hiked over a thousand miles in a 24 hour period when I arrived home I was stoned straight. There are no bad men just those that are ready to meet the next world sith a smile that preplexes the mortal and soothes the broken and trodden. Peace to you.I am fat
Thank you I learned it by being abandonded. Adapted the saying "Lord blesses the shild that has his own" "Waste not want not" You get a chance to look in my favorites you could find a way to build a great man cave so you could take a break from the harmonal roller coaster. You were a veteran a group that tought you that shelter is your uniform WTF. I especially like your videos that are not about your sister No Mo drama mommas'.
Yeah, I know, but I've got an inherited lazy streak running through me and it's just easier to turn on the camera and let my sister act the fool. It's her specialty.
@thisblender My strategy is to hold onto someone that wants to be violent toward me and start to cry I try to drown them if that don't work I just chootem.
Sean, I think you want to be careful when you state that you occasionally view the temp gauge while you're DRIVING, and then you reach back to turn the oven on or off. Just trying to suggest, not to criticize.
Wal-Mart also sells fruit, granola bars, jello snack cups, OH NEVERMIND you are mentioning that now. No refer required. That's the point.
I have a small power inverter in my car. Can that mess my car up? Can it kill an alternator?
Also, what you say about time constraints has ruined truck driver personality. Many of those drivers are jerks and are widely hated. They'll be all up on people's rears.
Also, be quicker on video. Spit it out. I know I took too long to steal gas, but hey...
Low sodium Hot meals is the key has to be good.If UDrive 30 min straight great do it if not you'll waste fuel you could build a solar oven to handle your needs or cook on manifold. Some loads must attended to 24/7. I have used 300w inverters in cars no sweat great for laptop. As you can see I am not most drivers I am college educated beyond patient I breed safety. U can buy frozen icebox it can be good 24H.
Thank you for watching and commenting on so many of my videos. I earned an AOS in electronics every project we had to write a process description I just got use to writing and explaining things. My aim is to cover any questions that can help a driver to have a better life we give up so much to do this job and anytime you improve their life you make the road that much safer. I hope I was able to give you just one idea that can help you or someone you know. Be safe please.
Seems we mostly carry glycol antifreeze but we carry anything they tell us to from fuel or wastewater. The great thing is in chemicals you usually go to industrial sites where safety is paramount. The company I am with now does everything legally this is great since if anything ever happens and you have done everything correctly less chance they can hold you at fault. Some cases carry jail time.
Since I try my best to get to a idleair location and save fuel I will split a run up based upon those parameters. I use to have to stop every 2 hours or 150 miles but since 9/11 the government removed this restriction b/c it gave too much predictability for a terrorists to steal a truck. I don't violate the law anymore so I never drive over 11 hours with prepass and toll paid we can cover a lot of interstate not having to stop. There is no usual haul any moment I can go anywhere in NorthAmerica

@zombiesrule1 Listen I tip my hat to professional drivers.
The rest of society can barely drive a car safely.
