I remember the Hastings Trolleybuses very well but not the early Guys as in this film. My cousins lived in Bulverhythe Road and we would catch a trolleybus from the end of the road and spend the afternoon in Alexandra Park. One of the Guys that was preserved would come out on festive occasions to augment the post war vehicles and we managed to cadge a ride on it once. I believe it still exists but it has been powered by a Commer oil engine for many years.
I wish I could get into a time machine and go back to that time and area of Hastings and have a ride on one of those...but then again I'm sure a few people would like to do that!

What a fantastic piece of footage ! Times gone by but still great
to look at. The music is great as well ! Are there any other clips
of Hastings in the 'olden days' out there ???

Saw the letter in the Hastings Observer to view this footage, glad I did. Way before my time.

Fabulous piece of footage. Managed to spot Bohemia Road, Robertson Street and Cambridge Road! Don't the trolleybuses look magnificent!
