Yeah Because the story is about The king family whose trying to defend crystal (in this case is noctis family) from marauders seeking to take the crystal as their own (in this case stella family). both of the family is in conflict w/ each other, that's why i see the resemblance with Romeo and juliet. Even though so far both of the male and female seems do not have fall in love with each other :3

Don't forget that american have to get Copy Right to FFvs13 From japan. the original is japanese. so NA need rights...you all forget that. Square Enix is japanese. Yup I do partially agree with you..but honestly, i think if they can do something with the storyline i think final fantasy movie will be well-received. It all depends. I just feel that Japanese has the best 3D skills. Just my opinion and preference though.
