  • Absolutely amazingly ahead of their time, I first saw them here in Houston, Texas in 1985, again 1989 and later once more.

  • I like a lot of Cure stuff but I have never heard this before and I thought it was the original A Forest version of Diet Kongs song....nah it aint and Diet Kongs song is sooooo superior....STFU tho fans....cuz I love The Cure....just not this older stuff....its aloud to like certain periods of The Cure...I spose I prefer their Goth/Emo stuff

  • FUCK ROBERT PALMER!

  • That crowd has good taste in music. They mirrored my thoughts exactly: "We want more!" Sadly, all they would get was a heaping helping of Robert Palmer.

  • STUPID ROBERT PALMER >(

  • 1981 Belgium Werchter...

  • When and where was this gig?

  • excellent audio, possibly the best on you tube, for such an earlier rendition, thanks for posting, love it x

  • Even tho the video is pretty poor quality the music is unbelievable. I saw the Cure at a student gig in University College Cork, they just blew everyone away.

  • QUALUDES & WINE OR CHAMPAGNE I duno but he drinks in this video before he jamms i love it i got sick drunk while seeing this video drinking

  • Oh I wish they'd just go on and on and on...and on...and on...:)

  • cool ending

  • my dad was there :)

  • LUCKY!

  • ur dad's cool XD

  • you grew up on good music then im sure.

  • yeah but he keeps telling music today is shit and way too expensive. to be there he payed 600 belgian francs, that's almost 15 dollar for a festival

  • @ltmittens He's a lucky man... I would have loved to be there. however I was only 11 but I loved being a teenager in the 80s...I realize I was so blessed to have this experience....do you know what he is saying at the beginning of this video?

  • @cymbeli Robert says: "This is our final song because we're not allowed to carry on with it anymore 'cause everyone wants to see Robert Palmer, I think." I think Simon Gallup yells, "Fuck Robert Palmer!" at the end of this song. Because of that comment and because they intentionally dragged "A Forest" out to nearly 10 minutes, Robert Palmer's roadies threw The Cure's gear off stage.

  • the cure is one of my favorite bands from the 80s

  • this video is so awesome i only like this part though from 1:03 to 1:32 from when he picks up his beer or drink and put tis it down and the drum beat comes in :D thats amazing, the rest i really dont like, he doesnt put that passion when he plays live into the voice but toher than that this video is cool from 1:03 to 1:32

    hahahahaha ;D

  • Its cool i still love him <3 I LOVE THE CURE and this song gets stuck in your head like no other :P

  • was he on something?

  • He actually was. He did LSD. For quite a while.

  • LOL..Ive heard the boot many times but never seen the video of this...too bad the camera didnt catch Simon doing his bit at the end.

  • This is a quite strange song...

  • I've got a great bootleg w/ every song from this set EXCEPT this one here, so thanks!
