  • lol, my school's Board of Ed just hired Kreutzer. Not sure what they were thinking. Luckily in NY collective bargaining is the LAW.

They are awesome teachers, and boy are they pissed. He's getting $240k for five years... they haven't even had a contract the last 5 years...

  • lol, my school's Board of Ed just hired Kreutzer. Not sure what they were thinking. Luckily in NY collective bargaining is the LAW. So it will be hard for him to fire them. They are awesome teachers, and boy are they pissed.

  • If you are not a teacher, you really don't know what you are talking about. Everybody thinks that he/she knows about education! It is the most challenging profession in the world because you are not dealing with machines or even mature people. You are dealing with inmature growing human beings with all kinds of unsettled emotions. Merrit par is not the way. Performance is hard to judge.

  • These are NOT educators, they are politicians. Let them teach a classroom of 40 inner-city students and then say that pay should be based on whether those students pass a national test or not.

I've never seen one school board member or superintendent agree to merit pay for themselves. Nor do they say that they make too much money, though they make six figures for working the exact same school year that the $48,000/yr teachers work (less hours per day, though).

  • I agree, I think this is great!!! I applaud New Berlin!!!

  • Ve shall see za new Berlin! - Adolf Hitler

  • This youtube video is paid for (and paul kreutzer is paid off by) the Koch Brothers.

  • They could have accomplished the same thing by eliminating tax cuts for wealthy corporations. Why does the middle class have to make up the difference? Why not just ask the people who are not paying their fair share to pony up?

  • Walker, you and your school officials can fly a kite in a lightning storm. But first, give yourselves a pay cut and and cap your earnings at 50k, this should free up plenty of money for installments against your states debt. The average citizen in your state makes 25k and they manage. You can too.

Citizens of Wisconsin - Keep saying no to this "reform" showing the rest of the country how to be strong! Do NOT settle for revisions in this document.

    America stands with you.

  • And regarding the school officials backing Walker? Not in my town they don't.

  • I read the comments and I surprised that these people want to know that there job is safe tomorrow. There aren't any guarantees in life. The vast majority of workers don't have a pension fund and they aren't crying about it! The teachers shouldn't be allowed to unionize.

  • Of course the school officials back Walker; they make 150k per year plus full benefits, and their jobs are still safe.

  • Say good bye contract, say good bye to knowing that your job will be there tomorrow or next week, say good bye to a once decent livelihood.Say hello to unethical management, say hello to unfair working conditions, hours and disparity, say hello to discrimination and anguish, say hello to poverty, say hello to getting the fu** out of Wisconsin and saying nice to meet you to States that will appreciate your education, your wisdom and experience. And don't forget to thank Scott Walker on your way out

  • Walker is a lying SOB and needs to be impeached. Bogus budgets, spreadsheets and rhetoric will set you free; BS. How can you people allow this egotistical whack job to remain? The time has come for strong action. Tea Baggers beware!!!! Good Luck to the fine teachers and the public unions of Wisconsin, NOW do what is necessary!!! Enough banter!!!

  • I was actually in the meeting where these School Boards and Administrators met - and this is not the only part of the story. I asked how many would be letting go of 10 or more staff in their districts - and about half the hands raised. Nice Jobs program. The actual audience was NOT IN FAVOR of this bill. The questions and comments were decidedly AGAINST Gov. Walker's proposal. FYI there were LOTS of superintendents OUTSIDE the Governor's office who would have liked to give their side too...

  • The positive results of the bill are already becoming apparent. Keep up the good work, Governor Walker!

  • @modernfreestyle

The Bill hasn't even been activated yet! So what results? And now of course it is being temporarily restrained until they can sort out if Walker and co broke a law to rush it through. You do realize that anything relating to fiscal subjects were removed from this so called Budget repair bill so they could get rid of collective bargaining don't you? So the "Budget" repair bill had nothing about money in it. And how odd is that?

  • @Lanthiriel The greedy, selfish, self-serving unions are finally being brought to heel. I consider that real progress. Collective bargaining for lavish unearned benefits at the taxpayers' expense is over, as are the "minimum work for maximum pay", "protect the incompetent at the expense of the competent", and "lock out any worker who doesn't kowtow to a union boss" aspects of collective bargaining agreements. The free ride of the selfish unions on the backs of hardworking taxpayers is over! Yay!

  • @modernfreestyle

Lavish unearned benefits? Like what? And I thought that all those public workers worked hard and paid taxes too. And how is it progress to be deceitful?

  • @Lanthiriel

Public works pay taxes? Since when? Oh, you mean they "pay" taxes with tax payer's money?

  • @Freedan111

Okay, so since all of these people are "public workers" which means they provide a service that the "Public" uses and pays for, how would you suggest they get paid then hmm?? Or should they work for free? Fact is they provide a service, they are paid for that service and they pay taxes from the paycheck that they earned.

  • @Lanthiriel

As I've said, who pays the Public Workers? Or are you to dense to see that the money they are getting paid with are Taxes that you have to pay regardless if the Public Workers did a good job or not? Privatization is the way to go. Make they actually earn what they make instead of all this entitilement bull crap.

  • @Freedan111 You wrote "As I've said, who pays the Public Workers?" I said the public uses the services and pays for them. So before you call another dense, slow down and read.

----"regardless if the Public Workers did a good job or not? "---

All public workers can get fired.

Please specify what entitlements you are talking about. And if we are talking schools, there are private ones but most people can't afford them. That's why public schools were developed.

  • @modernfreestyle So you were a union worker and know from first hand experience of these "lavish unearned benefits?" I would love to see you and anyone who badmouths our American Union workers who keep the lights on, the trains running, the highways clear of snow, the streets clean of trash, our children educated, our neighborhoods safe (cops), our fires put out, to work one week, 'cause most Americans in the private sector are lilly soft whiny babies and couldn't hack a month in a union job.

  • @paulineprojectlove "...most Americans in the private sector are lilly soft whiny babies and couldn't hack a month in a union job."

Well, I guess you'll just have to forgive us "lilly soft whiny babies" for not wanting to pay for you ungrateful leeches anymore.

  • Just who is the MacIver Institute? In the last three years, the MacIver Institute has gotten at least $300,000 in funding from the Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation, which advocates eliminating labor unions under the guise of "restoring worker rights" and "modernizing labor laws." Harry Bradley was one of the original charter members of the John Birch Society, along with Fred Koch, the father of Koch Industries' billionaire brother-owners, Charles and David Koch.

  • I have a child in this piece of shit school system and she has a shitty teacher, but they won't admit they she doesn't know how to teach children with special needs!!! My second daughter was not allow to tranfers from her school because of the money they were getting for her, but she was in a class room with over 40 students in one class. Watch waiting for Superman and than judge for yourself I know it's true!!!

  • @tsplls2 I'm so sorry you are having so much trouble with your daughter and the schools. I'm a parent too, and i can imagine how frustrating that must be. But your situation I believe is the exception, not the rule, because I have seen first hand how excellent the schools my kids are going to. I hope somehow you can get her to a better class and/or school. Don't give up!

  • @tsplls2 -- youi might want to consider movinrg. I understand that the teachers' pay st this school is the poorest in the area so I wouildn't look for things to change.

  • @DillonDee1 No need to move, Kreutzer is moving to my school district in NY. He's our issue now. :(

  • @tsplls2 Join this flash mob now. subscribe and sign on as friend for future calls.

  • As Dr. Phil would say..."Are you kidding me!!"

  • Thank you New Berlin for standing up and speaking out the truth!

  • weasel creeps - shame on them - this is about privatizing the schools and giving teh contracts to their weasel corporate friends

  • weasel creeps - shame on them

  • Time to send out pink slips to those that continue protests, especially the socialist progressives
