Yeah, I didn't like this one too. I thought the one with Katharine McPhee was even better than this one. Not the best, but better than this one. Not that McPhee had the best accent for it, but it didn't seem like a yelling contest. Seemed like they were actually feeding off each other, singing and enjoying the same song and not each one doing their own version. How a duet should be. Christina has always done and sang things her own way. Shes just in her own category. I Cant hate her for that.

I would love to hear Christina sing this song by herself. Her voice is so powerful, it does overwhelm bocelli's voice, but in a very awesome way. I don't like it. Don't get me wrong, Christina Aguilera has one of the most beautiful voices out there, and Andrea Bocelli's talent speaks for itself. But for this specific song, they should have chosen another woman to duet with Andrea. It's a slow bolero, and Andrea Bocelli's voice is perfect for it because it's smooth and collected. Christina's voice is too sharp and complex for this song.

Search for "Perdón Marc Anthony y Ednita Nazario" on Youtube. THAT'S the type of woman voice needed.

christina was amazing - but to match nocelli is impossible...bocelli's singing seemed so beautiful and it was almost like a gentle stream of refreshing, sparkling water...christina's singing was so "strained" in my opinion and with bocelli on her side - her limitations seemed to have been accentuated. she is a great singer though, but bocelli is completely on a different pedestal.

McPhee mimics Christina's version but with less passion, giving the impression of tenderness but is merely masking the lack of understanding.

In the beginning of her duet with Andrea, McPhees pronunciation almost appears to make Andrea cringe.

Mexican composer Armando Manzanero's "Somos Novios" song is supposed to be sung with tenderness and love. Boccelli's & Aguilera's performance to this beautiful song does not express any of those two feelings. Boccelli seems to be sad -not in love-, and Aguilera shouts rather than singing. Somos Novios "We are Lovers" is a song that speaks of all the beautiful things when two people are in love, and in the end without further thoughts "we are lovers always lovers". It is a tender song. Andre tries to do that but Christina over powers him and screams the song, there is no tenderness in how she does it.

As a duet, in my opinion, the difference in styles is meant to compliment the song and each other, notice the instruments esp the guitar comes in when Christina responds to Andrea. It is not meant to be sung the same, they are 2 lovers learning to become one but disctintly different.

Just an opinion, irrespective, the song is beautiful sung by 2 beautiful people and should be enjoyed by all for that reason

@kokede: Thanks, it was about a year ago that I posted my comments. Didn't remember it, had to come back to read it. Sometimes I like Christina but not here. For me, Katherine McPhee's duet with Andrea was better. It sounded almost the same but Katherine was softer, and she closed into and connected with Andrea, which Christina did not do here. This is a tender love song each professing their love for the other but they were apart during the entire performance, absolutely no connection.

I think this song is perfect with andrea alone. Christina's vibrato is too strong and Katherine's too weak.
