I am watching it right now and its kind of....Retarded. Low budget horror film that isn't scary, but I give them thumbs up for confusing the hell out of me.

Why so many hating on this one so much, it was good just look up quantum teleportation and tesseract. This one had more science based theories while the first one was a large rotating mathematical machine dealing more with equations.

man. as a fan of the original movie, this blew. good ideas, BAD execution, felt like a cheap portal set. also BAD acting. i particularly hated the old lady impersonating Madeleine L'Engle. for all you young kids, she put the idea of a tesseract in a book about 40 some odd years ago. the SAME idea. ugh. in the first movie i felt a lot more connected to the characters, and there were some truly INTENSE shocking moments. this movie lost all of that. i wouldn't even call it horror.

Thats what adds suspense and confusion to the film, because if the they explained everything then all we would be left with is another generic shitty Saw film and no one wants that :) that's just my 2 cents 2bh take it or leave it, no opinion is more valid than any others ;)

The movie is good but the science in this movie is totally bogus. No human can can solve an equation that enabled them to create that kind of cube. I mean really 1 cube that bends time, space and reality itself. The only way for that to happen is that the cube has a built in wormhole generator and we are eons from that kind of tech. I know its just a movie but the cube has been transformed into an inter-dimensional cube. The first one and the 3rd cube movie is more realistic.

i understood the first cube completely- people in a cube that is attempting to kill them, they must get out. but cube 2 goes way past that with alternate dimensions, slower and faster time depending on the cube, tesseracts, quantum teleportation(in the alternate ending). to be honest all that crazy shit got in the way of a good sequel.

I dun't know why you guys are hurting on this movie, the idea that the Cube has more efficient ways to kill you is awesome! And it gets harder to get out, why don't you stop comparing it to the first Cube and watch it for what it is, it doesn't even tie into the first one at all except that it's the same kind of idea only even more of a mindfuck!

Andrzej Sekula is an excellent cinematographer (gave us the visuals of Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, American Psycho...), but as a director? Oh well...

The, uhm, "bizarre" concept and storyline of "Cube 2" can't be blamed on him though, that'd be screenwriters Sean Hood and Ernie Barbarash. Hood, originally a set dresser, was one of two screenwriters on "Halloween: Resurrection", Barbarash was a producer who went on to direct "Cube Zero". Yeah, "in Hollywood, you just kind of fail upwards".

The original movies concept was much easier to grasp. At the start of Cube (the first one) Rennes had said "you have to save yourselves from yourselves" That is true because the only people who actually died from the Cube were Rennes (Acid) and Alderson (wire mesh slicey-thingy). The rest ended up killing each other.
