  • Albeniz is of Marrano origin, the Jews who converted to Christianity when this or exile was forced on them in 1492, and on the Muslims some 10 years later. The music shows very clearly our common cultural ancestry. If only we could bring this into our daily lives, where Israel has turned into a barbaric oppressor, stealing Palestinian land and freedom.

  • Fareed Al-Atrash played Asturias with one orchestra and piano. youtube have the video.

  • ALLAH YER7AMAK ya fareed

    raw3aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

  • farid fans like myself know this about this part, and farid never claimed that he created it. In fact it's further testimony to his brilliance that he was able to adapt this famous poece into his taqseem. the Rahbanis of lebanon did quit a bit of the same.

    wael.

  • The clip is not to state that Fareed claimed the musical part to be his. It is to bring attention to artists' copying. For instance if you see our video "Mohammed Rafi and Fareed Al-Atrash," you will hear that a musical part was copied by the Hindi composer from Al-Atrash. We like to provide these examples of artists' copying of one another for information sake. See also and read description of our video "Yamma Yamma". Try to see these two video clips.

  • Farid never claimed that he created this SMALL PART of his improvisation.

I heard him saying that he used this part because if fitted well in his improvisation.

He said: "I can easily write a musical sentence to complete the improvisation but it won't be as beautiful as this part".

  • Farid AlAtrash Was a great singer and he gave the arabian and world great music, so thats no so importent if he was from syrian eller egyptian, what it mean citizenship if he was fomous over all world.

  • Fareed Al-Atrash was not Egyptian; he was from Syria and he was a prince of Druze, please correct that.

    Regards.

  • There is no need to make a correction. He is an Egyptian who was born in Syria. He left for Egypt as a child and got

Egyptian citizenship with his entire family. He made no artistic contributions for Syrians or in Syrian dialect.

  • The part that reads, "Don't forget to watch our video clips featuring the Hindi song "Yamma" and reading its description on the right side" was meant to read, "...Hindi song "Yamma" and to read its description on the right side"
