  • it is indeed a honor ms aretha to grace your voice to this beautiful song you are the greatest hands down

  • Aretha franklin really cant sing this song, Whitney has the greatest voice and how dare aretha sing her song it sounded like crap,

  • a1d2h: First, I must correct something you said. You said Whitney is the 4th highest selling female artist with Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, and Madonna ahead of her. That's incorrect. Whitney is the #1 highest-selling female artist. Mariah is a close second and Madonna a close third behind her. Celine comes in at number four. Whitney has sold over 200 million records. Mariah is at 180 million.

  • @alchap9695 Madonna is the highest selling female artist of all time with 300 million, Celine and Mariah are BOTH 200 million and Whitney 170million

  • @DannisWinston But look at the amount of product that whitney has out, its only a few CD's....Many of the other artists were releasing CD's damn near every year, whitney sold that with just a few CD's

  • @alchap9695 Wrong... Trust me. Whitney is the least selling of the divas mentioned. I know. :)

  • @luisjla Who gives a fuk...she's the best singer by a country MILE!!

  • Ree PERFECTED this tune & Whitney OWNS it.

  • @SoulSir Amen

  • @bconsitt That's the one lol!

  • @Chimier LMAO that's right ,I don't have a brain? What bodypart are you missing?

    #NEXT

  • @Breniznit You tell me, oh Brainless One!

    You're dimissed. Again.

  • @Chimer I guess that one track brain of yours didn't come with memories. I'll let you work out the meaning of what Fake 2 faced backstabber for yourself, asuming you are capable of doing so.Chow for now Einstein,Looking forward to that tutorial from you on becoming a shallow narcassistic backstabber. Sit and spin my friend!

  • @Breniznit Yawn...save you psychobabble for someone who cares.

So come on! Who did I "backstab"?

At least I've got a brain. Oh. Seeing as how you don't, you don't get to comment on mine.

Oh, and don't call me friend. Ew.

    You can pop off now.

  • @Chimer I hear I can learn things from you.Tutor me on being a fake, two faced liar and backstabber.I hear you do it quite well and I wish to matriculate.

  • @Breniznit Oh you want to learn huh? Look in that mirror of yours. Voila! Lesson learned.

It's kinda funny how you caught feelings that have kept you pressed. Two-faced liar? Backstabber? WTF are you rambling on about?

I'd leave you with some parting thoughts, but I have no idea where you'd put them. Certainly not in a helpful place, that's for sure.

    You can vanish now.

  • @Breniznit @TheQueenAretha2 ...and What the fuck is wrong with you two? O_O

  • @Notmineonline Nothing,we are just fine.We have agree'd to disagree. We don't hate each other or anything

  • @TheQueenAretha2 Once again, happy to speak your own mind but then you attack people for speaking theirs.Do you see the pattern? Then you tell them to grow up because their opinions hurt your feelings.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheQueenAretha2 I'm not attacking you for speaking your mind.I am attacking you for attacking me and that other person over ours and don't act like you didn't. The logs state I didn't speak to you for 6 months and you started talking to me a week ago because you can't handle my opinion that Aretha is rude and has an ego, clearly she isn't alone.I guess they are right about people looking like their pets because you are just as rude to people.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheQueenAretha2 What's more ,I defended you on one of the pages where someone was being racist towards you .So interesting that none of your friends weren't there to defend you and yet you label me a bad person despite the fact that I did defend you :/ I guess you are right,I am a real asshole LOL Anywho I am sick of speaking to you,It's clear that you and I will never agree on anything.Enjoy your advanced tutorials with bconsit and chimier into being a better trained troll.

  • @Breniznit Do you here yourself. No one likes to be labeled anything. I don't like it, you don't like it and i bet Aretha doesn't like it either. Maybe there is more that i need to learn about you before i call you names but as of right now you haven't showed my a good side of you, and maybe you need to do the same with me and Aretha.

  • @TheQueenAretha2 Or not, you and I would not make good friends .You and I have conflicting veiws and my veiws clearly offend you.So I am not going to go out of my way to show you a good side of me or in the case of your fail troll freinds the light of day.I have enough support from my own personal group of friends who I can conversate and debate with online without being insulted by them or told what to think (which they don't) Sorry but when you get a better offer. Goodbye for now.

  • @Breniznit I don't want to be your friend, not because we have conflicting view but i consider you a very closed minded individual. But we don't have to conflict just because our views are different and that is what i am saying. But I don't think you will ever get and that is sad because you don't have to be the way you are.

  • @TheQueenAretha2 It's not personal, it's heated but I don't dislike you.So don't think that, I'm just overtly opinionated,so are you which is why we clash. It's not personal.I will just agree to disagree and move on.

  • @Breniznit I guess so!

  • @Breniznit Bitch, I see I still got you pressed. 4 months later, you're STILL talking about me.

  • Comment removed

  • @Breniznit Bitch, you think I care what you consider me as? Since when has your opinion ever been valid? Never. Keep my name out your posts. That's all.

    We're not friends. You're dismissed.

  • @Breniznit And where did I say anything you pretending to be my friend? Why would I CARE for you?

"Be thankful that I say things publicly and don't pretend we are friends.‬"- I don't care for any kind of friendship with you in any way, nor do I need to be thankful for anything you say about me. Try and at least make sense when you post, instead of talking random shit. As I said, keep my name out your posts and there won't be any issues. Got it? Good. Off you go.

  • @TheQueenAretha2 Goodbye

  • @TheQueenAretha2 Ignorant is not looking at your argument from both angles and you don't ,you are fascist and biased and you know it too,So are your dumb ass subhuman peers.Call me a cunt all you want, i think its hilarious you are so out of logical things to say in your one track mind that you are reduced to calling me names.Go for gold LOL

  • @baybaygotgroove Don't pay any attention to @TheQueenAretha2 she is a fascist and doesn't respect anyone else's opinion.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheQueenAretha2 O bugger off , Noone asks you to seek and attack everyone who has an opinion different to yours and it's true. You wonder why people get so defensive of you and then you tell them to grow up ,well NEWS FLASH you need to grow up and get's some respect for other people and the fact they have a right in the modern world to make up their own minds and have an opinion.Call me an asshole all you want, that's your opinion but quit flaming others for their own veiws.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheQueenAretha2 Opinions aren't always based on fact.Actually your opinion of Aretha of warped anyway because you would beleive the bitch was born green if she said it.So why should anyone care what your biased opinion is anyway. AND it's a fact you go around seeking and attacking anyone who criticizes her and if that was not the case then I wouldn't be on here helping other people fend you off with a crucifix. So start learning to deal with other people's opinions and grow the fuck up.

Because you try to dictate what people think and you have to have everyone's attention of every page you go on(which makes you fascist).Learn the definition of 'opinion' too cus you clearly don't speak english. You need to grow up and realize your opinion is NOT more imortant then everyone else's and stop attacking people.

  • @TheQueenAretha2 Pfft bitch please, why would I be on here defending people you are attacking if you weren't attacking them? That makes no sense, take a look at your behaviour before you take swipes at other people for having an opinion. EVERYONE on here has the right to have an opinion on Aretha, not just you. You need to grow up and learn to respect other people's opinions, rather then raging at them. We have just as much right commenting and you do.Deal with it.

  • @TheQueenAretha2 Crap, admit it .You think every has to beleive Aretha is the Queen and that she is the greatest singer and person in the world and you bash anyone like me who doesn't beleive so. There is nothing constructive in your pushy facsist and domineering tactics of trying to tell people what their own veiws are. Just leave it alone.I wouldn't have a problem if you stated your opinion but you try and tell everyone else what they should think and that pisses me off.

I know who you are talking about and not one of those pig headed retards counts as a person, they are below even you on my list of people. You are damn right I argue with them as well, why the fuck should I be told by those retards what I should and shouldn't beleive? It's called not being a sheep, enjoy being hurded by your fail troll friends.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheQueenAretha2 Then why did you come for me then? There was nothing mean and disrespectful about my opinion that Aretha is rude and a bad person? You can't help yourself .You have to become defensive and tell people what to think. You are turning into your dumb failtroll friends who try and tell people what to think. It's not a good look tbh,I really hope you don't make the mistake of following them into the void.

  • @TheQueenAretha2 There is nothing hateful about a thing I have said about Aretha, that's my opinion of her as a person but as a performer.Beleive me I could come up with a bunch of personal insults ranging from her image and weight to her recent performances but I don't lower myself to insulting her even though I think she is a horrible person.

They are trolls, hypocrites and you are a sheep.Besides that I have tried being nice to them both,it will NEVER work because I don't like either of them.

  • @TheQueenAretha2 But you don't know me,you have never met me.We have never spoken before in a civil manner and you have never given me a reason to want to. No actually, to say that I respect Aretha's career and musicianship but I don't like her as a person because she is rude and has an ego (as we all see in interveiws) Is not biased,it's an opinion based on her behaviour. It's my opinion so stay mad :/

  • Rude that she didnt mention Whitney in the beginning. Aretha has been around for like 100 years, and Whitney had sold more albums after her first three. LOL.

  • @baybaygotgroove i was thinking the same thing

  • @baybaygotgroove Are you kidding me! Grow the hell up, Aretha has sold over 100 million album in her career. Of course Whitney has sold more and that is amazing. Tell me something WHO MAD because Aretha fan sure ain't because we know our girl is THE Queen and no one can hold a candle to her. Simple as that.

  • @TheQueenAretha2 Your queen should be paying respect to the Voice before singing her number one hit single. And the Aretha version is painful. It would never have been a hit if she had released it. NEVER.

  • @baybaygotgroove GIRL BYE! THIS IS ARETHA FUCKING FRANKLIN WE ARE TALKING ABOUT. She is THE QUEEN and she doesn't bow to anyone! No one is trying to take anything from Whitney, she is amazing but don't sit here and disrespect Aretha. You Whitney stan really need to show some respect. Aretha can sing whatever song she want and she did an hell of a job with this song. Stop being such an ass, it is not a good look.

  • @TheQueenAretha2 It isn't, it wasn't, it ain't never gonna be. ReRe can sang, but her version of this song is inferior to Whitney's. And she should have mentioned the singer that made the song famous.

  • Comment removed

  • i think aretha added an ol' skool sexy-soulful swagger to the song. is it whitney? no, but it is good in its own way. plus she sounds a little vocally tired-but it's still good

  • celine is a whitney fan but i read articles stating that they were supposed to sing on the song JUST STAND UP but didn't get along as to who would sing more or so...

  • @a1d2h Just to show you how much of an influence Whitney is, Celine borrowed some of her singing style from Whitney Houston. She is even on you tube singing her songs in early days before she became famous!!. Aretha has even stated a comment about Whitney back in the late 80's when Whitney was jus 25 that she had never saw someone with a work ethic and pipes like hers. Im not trying to change your mind about Whitney. I was just getting your right on facts. Good day,

  • @phinetopsc When did Aretha say that about Whitney? Was it in an interview? Is it on youtube?

  • @phinetopsc...Celine Dion doesnt deny that she's a Whitney fan. As a matter of fact, she's one of the few that really shows Whit love.

  • @a1d2h Keep in mind that READING AND LISTENING is very fundamental. I never said that Celine Dion wasn't ahead of Whitney in terms of sales. I clearly noted that in my previous comment. Also in terms of achivements/accomplisments Whitney Is clearly #1. Im sorry if its clear that the public has made that possible ..then one again THEY HAVE SPOKEn. I love Celine Dion , but now a days she LIPSYNCS more than BRITNEY SPEARS! At least Whitney is an honest BOLD performer who gives her all!

  • @a1d2h Also if you do your research Whitney is still the 4th highest selling female artist in the US. Mariah, Madonna, and Celine being ahead of her, ONLY because

Whitney was not putting out albums do to her being in rehap (personal problems). Aretha is way behind Whitney. So befor you start bad mouthing Whitney because of your personal feelings for FAT Re do your research and get your facts together. I and the PUBLIC have spoken. THank U. GOOD DAY!

  • @a1d2h LMAO. Uhm you clearly need to do your research before making such comments. When was the last time Aretha had a TOP selling album. THANKU? Whitney's last album, "I Look To YOU". Had the biggest opening by a female artist of 09, it sold over 3.5 million despite little promotion. It had 3 top hits, and it was the top 10 best selling album of 2009. Also despite negative reviews of her recent tour, she still managed to have one of the highest grossing tours of 09. So get it right boo boo.

  • @a1d2h I disagree, Whitney does have true skills when she interprets songs..listen to her in concert and her timing and mix voice is way better than ARETHAs both Ella and Whitney have perfect clarity when they sing songs, you could hardly understand ARETHA...and remember Whitneys been ruling and top singer for 30 years..Aretha 20years then she just quickly died down a lil.

  • Her scratchy voice with her growls and screaming come no where near Whitney's original version.

  • This song has been ARETHAFIED!!!!!!

  • @a1d2h

    Are u hearing yourself?

Listen to Aretha right now, She cant sing a Whitney Song and is failing miserably

u make a big assumption without backing yourself up

  • @Tombothebomb OK, I love Whitney. She's my FAVORITE singer, but Aretha is not a singer that Whitney can put to shame. As a1d2h mentioned below, Aretha is a better musician and interpreter. Yeah, Whitney's voice is extremely belty and rich and she has that technical brilliance as well as great interpretive ability, but there are many singers with more musicality and interpretive skill, Ree being one of them.

  • @Chimier

Maybe at Her songs but I honestly don't think she can sing Whitney's songs better then her

  • @Tombothebomb No she couldn't, but no one said she could.

  • @Chimier

K so u think Whitney is a better singer but Aretha tells the story better?

Fine Fair enough i see where u coming from, I do admit she is a legend, Sorry if i caused any conflict

  • @Tombothebomb No, I didn't say I thought Whitney was the better singer....

  • @Chimier an exerpt I read from a Whitney Houstons website..in reference to a duet they did in 89 called "It isnt', it wasnt"

  • @a1d2h

if im a troll for stating my point of view then we are all trolls,

wait it is not just an opinon, Its a FACT

Aretha Sucks compared to 'The Voice'

  • Comparing Whitney to Aretha is ridiculous. If there was no Aretha there would have been no Whitney. Whitney worships the ground Aretha walks on and always mentions how she sat in studio sessions with Aretha when she was a little girl and how Aretha was her biggest inspiration. Comparing Aretha to Whitney is also pointless because Whitney trailblazed her own singing style and eventually grew to become as renowned as Aretha as a vocalist. BOTH singers revolutionized vocal technique. Why compare?

  • This shows how good Whitney is, She does Arethas songs better then her, Whilst Aretha sucks so bad at Doing her songs

  • Aretha brings her own something to the song. Yes, it's a Whitney song, but there's no need to be fascist about things. It would be a rather dull world if there was only one way to do anything.

Have an open mind and enjoy all the various colours of everything. Aretha makes us think of different things, no need to see it as a competition.

  • thank you everybody acts like everything gotta go one way im glad you spoke on that

  • I know!!! Why does this have to be a race? This is music, not 400 meters hurdles for heavenssake!

  • It sounds like she's gargling chitlins while singing this song. This is Whitney's song...

  • i dont know, this didnt do anything for me.. dont get me wrong Aretha's the Queen, but this is a whitney song. once Whitney sings a song, she sets the bar to high for any other singer to reach.

  • @WH012 i agree I like Aretha as much as the next person does but this is whitney's song . had aretha released this first it's doubtful it would have been the hit that it became.

  • @WH012 I so agree. I'm a big ol' Aretha fan. But she choked and stabbed this song to death (and not in a good way). She brought the soul but not the class and...sorry...not THE VOICE. Only Whitney can sing this song to perfection. Over and over and over again. Sorry, Aretha...

  • @asa1973 Aretha is not trying to compete with Whitney. You fans need to get it together.

  • whitney, arethra, mary j are the queens of music!

  • lol MONRAYDAYIZBACK you mean Berry Gordy

  • maravilhoso

  • she did a pretty good job

  • True, but there should have been a point in her career, maybe after I'm Your Bbay Tonight ot the Bodyguard where she was allowed to do something musically challenging. The Preacher's Wife, as great as an album it was, would have been better live or less produced. She should have done a more soul-oriented album after the Bodyguard and she has done really nice jazz interpretations of songs.

  • I alway wanted to hear Whitney do a Opera album. a1d2h is right it was different because Whitney was an instance success. While Aretha was still trying to find who she really was. Nobody really knows what Whitney is capable of creativly.

  • So true.

  • And from what i heard you say. She constantly wrote. I alwayed wonder that about Whitney. She and Aretha both grow up with a strong musical background with both being expose to ton of famous singers and musician. Something had to of rubbed off on Whitney.

  • Whitney did constantly write. She said so in 1988. It was on this article called "A Class of Her Own", which said: Next up for Whitney are plans for her third album. She reveals that she will be writing some of the songs: "I'm still real insecure about my songwriting but I am getting confidence and I write all the time". But Clive Davis ended up discouraging her out of doing this. He even admitted this last year. When I heard that, it pissed me off. He always held her back creatively to sell.

  • Yeah. Clive was more about sells. He had invested so much time into Whitney. Trying to mold her into a success. And it worked. I wonder if he would let her record some of her composition now. Instead of looking for commercial success.

  • I hope so too. Whitney has achieved critical and commerical success, but more of the latter, now it's time for more of the former. She knows how to play the piano. Maybe if she did something in the vein of I'm Your Speed. She has the voice and the soul to do something like that. Mariah already had hers with Vanishing and Whitney's is long overdue.

  • It would be nice for she her do a piano solo. I've never heard her piano. I wonder how well she can play. She might surpise me. Sarah Vaughn could play the piano and i was surpised how skilled of a pianist she was. She only played once in public and it was amazing. So i wonder if Whitney has any tricks up her sleeves.

  • She played a bit of the piano on the Preacher's Wife, but it was a few notes. She played in on her Diane Sawyer interview and she played it rather well on Being Bobby Brown. it sounded like a classical piece, but I wasn't sure. And she seemed so natural too. She was in THE ZONE lol.

  • Is there is video of her playing it on being Bobby Brown.

  • It used to be on here last year, but it was removed.

  • Oh too bad.

  • But Whitney did write one song for her third album, but it was never included in the US edition of I'm Your Baby Tonight. The song is called Takin' a Chance and it was #1 in Japan. Whitney has written/co-written a total of six songs: Takin' a Chance, Something in Common, Queen of the Night, Count on Me, Fine and Whatchulookinat. In fact, she improvised the chors of Count on Me. Babyface was playing the instrumental for her and she improvises the chorus by listening to the music.

  • Chimier your right Preacher's Wife should have been done live. Arista is stupid cause I Love the Lord live move version buts the one in studio to shame seriously. You saw how Whitney ripped that hitting higher notes.

  • That run from 2:14-2:19 is....WOW!

  • That run was sick though Chimier!

  • Call Me, IMO, was the greatest performance Aretha has ever done. She reduced my face to a freaking puddle. Technical brilliance as well as unmatched soulful expression.

  • This is a better performance than I Am Changing. Whitney had, and still has, the potential to do so many musically artistic things, but she was held back and she let herself be held back. We have only seen glimpses of what she can really do. I really want her to play the piano on her next album or on a live performance and rock out to a Stevie joint or something. I would DIE!

  • People are constantly criticizing Aretha's weight and how it has affected her voice. I'll tell you what I have noticed, thin or full-figured Mama Ree's voice has stood the test on time. And that is the reason why, when we think about SOUL MUSIC, we automatically and I mean automatically think about ARETHA FRANKLIN.

  • I love this, thanks for posting......Aretha singing Whitney's "Saving all my love" and Mariah's "touch my body" The queen can sing anything

  • Nice Nice. This is too funny. Aretha sings Whitney songs on her on styl eand didn't fuck it up, just like Whitney would do great justice to her songs. Beautiful. True Queens.

  • Yeah i feel that 1971 was when Aretha was coming into her prime.

  • I love Aretha's voice in 1978. I believe Aretha was still in her prime. But i know you are talking about Aretha at her peak which means at her most effortless. So you are right 72 to 77.

  • It dosen't matter when Aretha's voice peaked. What's good is that she knows how to use whatever voice she has at any given time.

  • Exactly. I am a fan of both women; I don't know what else to say about them that hasn't been said before. I love them both. LOL

  • Aretha can sing Whitney's songs and Whitney can sing Aretha's songs. They both sound amazing and make other people's songs their own. These are two of the greatest vocalists EVER.

  • i think her peak was 71-80 she sound good i admit i was scared of listening 2 dis cuz i though i wasnt gon like but i do

  • I would extend that to 79. LA DIVA/SWEET PASSION era was her peak as far as live singing.

  • Aretha can sing ANYTHING!

  • They should have used the Yamaha DX7 for this performance.

  • That outfit was a good moment of fashion for The Queen! I love it!

  • I agree as well, I heard her music in her prime years.

  • Aretha set a lot of first her self. The first woman to be on the cover of Time Magazine. Her voice has been named a national treasure. She was the first woman inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. It goes on. Face it Aretha paved the way for great vocalist after her. Diana was not a great sing though she was a fair one, Whitney was inspired by Aretha.

  • I think Whitney was a mix of Aretha and Diana. Growing up I loved Aretha's voice, but I also loved hearing AND looking at Diana (who actually WAS more instrumental than Ree with getting blacks on tv)- research it. Furthermore, the Supremes were on the cover of Time magazine 3 years before Aretha (and that article isn't a flattering one...google it)! In Whitney, Clive found the vocal power of Aretha, but in the whole package that was Ross. Whitney is/WAS the best of both worlds!

  • I don't think so. Aretha was a more soild foundation for paving the way for blacks. Aretha influence on music is greater. Eventhough Diana has paved the way as well. I think in many ways Clive did want a mixture of them both. The Queen and The Diva.

  • Before African Americans got into the whole black power thing (afros and dashikis) during the late 60's, the Supremes were already on TV breaking down the barriers that even Aretha benefitted from. While it's true that Aretha became the voice of that movement....Ross's can't be denied her place in helping to open a door for ALL blacks to follow (prior to Aretha)! And that's on a world stage.

  • I am not saying denying that. Eventhough i'm not a major fan of Ross. i can't say that she and the supremes didn't open doors for blacks. Whitney and other owes alot to both.

  • Motownbaby, maybe my understanding of "opening doors" is off but I believe that The Supreme's signed with Motown in 1961 and Aretha signed with Columbia in 1960. I also believe that The Supreme's first album was released in 1963 and Aretha's first none gospel album was release in 1961. The Supreme first top 40 was in 1963. Aretha's was in 1961. Aretha was on Shindig in 1963 but the Supreme's first TV appearance wasn't until 1964. Maybe "opening doors" means something else these days!

  • Motownbaby,

Also that Time Magazine cover that you are referring to as being The Supremes' cover was actually the Rock n Roll Everybody Turned On issue release May 21, 1965. The cover featured about seven pictures one of which, placed in the bottom right hand corner, was of The Supremes. Aretha's cover was three years later on June 28, 1968 but it was Aretha and only Aretha! Aretha Franklin is the first black women to grace the cover of Time Magazine! Fact!

  • Sibun7...I don't want you to miss the point! The world is aware of the unprecedented achievements of both Aretha & Diana! However....hitting the charts and having 5 consecutive #1's - is two totally different things. Mary Wilson herself has said that everyone in Detroit (and gospel circuits...I.E - blacks) were well aware of Aretha's unmatchable gift! Still...that level of "across the board acceptance and ground breaking", was a reality for Motown before Aunt Ree had her "breakthrough"!!!

  • Motownbaby, I believe it is you who has missed the point. After I negated everything in your original post, you come back with something totally different! The fact that Motown And The Supremes (with Diana Ross) hit it big before Aretha was never in dispute. To say that it's or The Supreme's success in any way contributed to Aretha's success would be pure conjecture.

This is a post of Aretha doing a Whitney song. What does Motown or The Supremes have to do with either?

  • @motownbaby... Whitney was a fashion model.

  • @motownbaby exept she didn't have the class or stage presence of a diana. but you're right Clive had her sitting in diana's concerts early on in her career and patterned much of her style after diana . whitney had the gospel background & sound like Aretha .

  • @motownbaby Well there's an interview where Whitney is asked if Diana Ross was an influence on her and she said NO. Really with emphasis on that no that's why i write it in caps. She says Aretha ofc Dionne etc but no no on Diana. I think there's a story there we don't know about. As for Diana being more instrumental in getting black people on tv well maybe. But Aretha's 22 or so grammies couldn't hurt. Its like an actor with 22 Oscars. Legendary doesn't even begin to cover what she means to us!

  • @ShrikeCult that was the barbra walters interview, but she was asked did u ever look to diana ross, she was like naw I had my mom to look at. BUT THEN SHE LATER DID A TRIBUTE on her classic WHITNEY CONCERT IN DC saying she looked up to diana when she saw her on screen in LSTB. BACK TO THE BARBRA WALTER inter view she never mentioned Areatha or DIONNE, she said her mom was her inspiration, look it up on youtube BARBRA WALTERS!

  • @ShrikeCult there is a story... I think it started when Diana introduced Whitney on an award show. Whitney was singing all at once. You can tell that Diana Ross was trying to down play the hype of "Whitney" and how the audience was so geeked that Whitney was about to sing.

  • anyone that would even think to compare whitney and aretha is slow as hell.... one proceeded the other...it doesnt make sense. Whitney wouldnt be here without aretha, and beyonce and fantasia wouldnt have an o
