  • Thank you !!!!! Very Great Play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!but Twice ・・It was regrettable.

  • Such a good run man. Just when I thought I was getting decent at this game I now realize im still shit. hah.

  • The Saturn version has the best soundtrack, IMO.

  • Y'know, I don't get it, now that I think about it--You spent loads of credits building your skills at a shmup... And then at least 70% of the time, your reward is an ending where the hero dies and you in reality accomplished nothing.

"Congratulations, player, you've beat RayForce. Now here's a shot of the dead heroine in her derelict ship."

Come on.... Do happy endings not exist outside of Touhou?

  • @Lezardstherapist Games like Gradius has good endings. (I don't see the heroine dead or unconscious in the disabled fighter, though...)

  • A sad end to a planet too dependent on an AI to sustain it. Congratulations in beating the game.

  • Con-Human looks and fights like a monster compared to its online avatar!

  • 高校時代これにはまったのを思い出しました。ストーリーが悲し過ぎるんですよね、このゲーム。未だ一番好きなシューティングです。この頃のタイトーは良かった。

  • Wait.... If Earth exploded in this game, how come it still exists in Raystorm? Maybe the Earth in Raystorm is a planet exactly like Earth that humanity decided to colonize.

  • that cannot be... it clearly states the voice clearly states the date and location of every stage excluding the chamber of yggdrasil...

    plot hole perhaps...?

  • Raystorm is more like a spinoff rather than a sequel, happening at different and less related fictional timelines and events from Rayforce.

  • @doctorweazel

So....RayStorm takes place in an alternate timeline where Con-Human...

    A. Failed to take over Earth

    B. Never went berserk

    C. Was never even created in the first place

  • watch "the hitchiker's guide to the galaxy" it will all make sence ^-^ totally unrelated but oh well

  • So this is Area 7. Amazing.

All those power ups...it gives you a feeling that something horrible is coming your way.

That's the boss huh? The way it attacks looks very hard to me.

The ending...the heroine...just like Ikaruga but his is different from this heroine. Both sad.

    5 Stars RuldraReplays...no...RUL!

Need to play this on an emulator to see if I can reach Area 7 this time and beat it!

Thanks for showing the awesome run RUL!

  • すげーー・・・プロの技たのしませてもらった!!!感動した!

    ありがとう!!

  • That's a great thought, yes, I'm sure jigsaw did it. Then again, it could have been ronald mcdonald trying to advertise his food by destroying life itself. You never know.

  • I always thought that the city view was breathtaking. Definitely an amazing level.

Seeing all the aircraft beneath you added a lot to the atmosphere as well. It really shows you that the CON-HUMAN AI was heavily at work.

And, of course. You have to love the immense power-up containers, before the last boss. >:D

  • Also, it's a shame that babe of a pilot had to go out like that.

RayForce, in my opinion is the last great 2D shoot-'em-up ever made. I miss games like this, a lot. :(

  • I was just curious about what the bad ending in Gunlock is like and what it says and shows if you let the last boss escape?

  • The last boss will self-destruct after a set period of time. There's no other ending.

  • Which makes me think that the last boss must have had a timebomb implanted by Jigsaw from the Saw movies to make it die if it is not destroyed in time.

  • Well done! Now that I take a good look at it, Rayforce is less demanding than I once thought. Maybe I should give it another spin sometime.

Area 7 reminds me a lot of Stage 4 from Kamui.
