@danceersophie That's like saying a ballet pirouette and a jazz pirouette are the same thing, which clearly they are not. I've always heard the term "coupe turn" but I've never heard the term "coupe pirouette". It isn't justifiable to compare this achievement to the world record holder. Give Sophie her due, but don't demean the record holder's achievement at the same time. They are two different things! You did great Sophie and you should contact Guinness to see what they say.

Just because you were poorly trained and/or just didn't pay attention in class doesn't excuse your lack of knowledge. If you're going to critique, check the definition for pirouette before you do so. She starts with pirouettes in passe and transitions into pirouettes IN COUPE.

That's awesome. Tap shoes are actually way easier to do pirouettes in, but it's all dependent upon the person's balance and turn control, and she's only 9!!!
