  • POP ART

  • Man, I loved this show so much my first schizophrenia hallucination was of Hagatha the witch.

  • How about ebay or amazon?

  • This is a long shot but does anyone know where i can get copies of episodes on dvd or something?

  • Yikes, the Ghoulies may exemplify what was wrong with the 70s, especially the cheap animation... and yet, they still managed to be enjoyable somehow! I think my favorite song is The Trio; I love the "weirdo wolfie!" part. "1 2 3" is also memorable -- maybe a bit TOO stick-in-the-heady, with all the repetition.

  • O_O I remember this cartoon when I was a kid. I've been looking for this one for a looooooooooooooong time.

  • As a 7 year old boy in 1971, I did some swimwear modeling for a local department store. My "pay" for the first fashion show I did was that I got to keep the totally cool "Groovie Goolies" swim trunks that I wore during part of the show.

  • Chloe Sevigny was right, this IS terrifying. ;-)

  • before my time but I wish they would of showed this in the 80s i would of loved this I was born in 1980 so thankfully still remember the golden age of animation compared tot he cgi shit that is being made today. Look up Gravedale High, Galaxy High, Monster in My Pocket, scooby doo and the ghoul school etc if you like this the horror toons are rad

  • @CIGARPIGSKIN6 Serioulsy? Well, I guess it just goes to show people tend to think whatever they grew up with was the best. Galaxy High was decent, but the Scooby series were all downhill from the original until the most recent ones. I think the Golden Age were the cartoons like Johnny Quest and the early Superman/Aquaman shows. Then there was a drought of good toons (we got stuff like "The Superfriends" instead). Disney's Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers may be the best of the return of good toons.

  • If i remember on the Groovie Goolies show

when was aired in the Philippines back in the 80's.

I remember what the Wolfman saying. But their

is the man keep on dig dig dig :-D

God i remember that show :-D

  • God, I loved that show.

  • "I needed that!"

  • This is definitely the original opening, sadly tossed out when they added Fraidy Cat and several other horrible shows. The Groovy Ghoulies and the Archies were really Filmations only good shows.

  • Betweenlostandfound1, you won't find "wierdo wolfie" using wierdo wolfie as a search argument. It's called "monster trio", and yes it is the wolfie song.

  • I liked when Dracula said "DO UNTO OTHERS, BEFORE THEY DO UNTO YOU." that's been my philosophy.

  • They sure run funny...

  • haha, when I was five I used to hire this out all the time

  • I grew up with this cartoon show and it was a blast after the roadrunner hour.Thing is they had all these songs during the middle of the show and one I cannot find on youtube is the wierdo wolfy song. Wolfy was my favorite AH ROO ROO ROO ! Creation of the show.

  • I had forgotten this for 40 years, until tonight. I need to stop surfing Youtube.

  • wow i used to love this cartoon when i was 18 - now im 43 and its still fantastic.....

  • Of all the Filmation shows, this one had the best theme song!

  • My childhood!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I always imagined Frankenstein as a bass player and the Wolfman as a drummer. Like Animal on the Muppets.

  • I *do not* remember that intro. I remember something way cooler and wackier.

  • @aculturemind You're absolutely right! No WAY was that the theme tune. What the arse happened? I think there should be civil disobedience until whoever's tinkered with this comes clean!

  • @topkkat

Hehn-hehn-hehn-hehn-hehn-hehn. Somebody messaged me different one, but that wasn't it, either. Nor, looking around, did I find what I remember. I dunnoo.

  • @topkkat This is the theme tune I remember from my childhood ... don't think there was a different one.

  • I watched and loved this show when I was very young, and I always thought "How dumb- no one plays the organ with their FEET". Now it's my favorite part of playing the organ!

  • Dracula is wearing Skinny Jeans! LOL

  • Hey! That's Ron Dante (voice of The Archies) singing the theme vocals! For those who never heard of him, or don't know him, Google him up. He's a legend!

  • What a great song, and great characters, as well as great memories.

  • Respond to this video...

this was such a cool show and it had sabrina on it this was the spin off from sabrina cartoon show

  • Nostalgia is killing me now...

  • I love these but I also know it was 40 years ago or so. I tried "Mission Magic" which was also from that time period and even though it was my favorite, I got bored really quickly and fell asleep. I think that anyone buying these should remember that what you see with the eyes of a child is not the same when you're an adult 40 years later.

  • @contessakitty

I share your point of view...

  • @contessakitty I don't know, to me it pretty much depends on how you look at it, because TV all throughout the 60's and 70's had far more variety compared to the crap that's on today, and quite honestly, I do think most of it still holds up rather well, to tell you the truth.

  • @ badbreath77 & Gina97xis: From the ectoplasm of this show tv evolved and now we have "Glee." It just wasn't a straight evolutionary line. Pun intended.

  • man i used to watch this..

  • Phinas and Ferb is a throw back to cartoons and much better than

  • the vampire definitely had a face lift

  • Like these guys' unique way of running.

  • sartday morning not the same all junk one show pegens of madgaska alll 500 chanels and nuthing to whoch

  • A classic!

  • I <3 Weirdo Wolfie! There was a song that he sang, the Weirdo woolfie song. I can't seem to find it.

  • "Frightenin' Frankie, Dangerous Drac and Weirdo Wolfie!"

  • When I was a kid watching this I never understood why Dracula wore what appears to be pumps and pantyhose.

  • @ChrisPawelski haaaa that's so true! Never really noticed that but it was normal in the late 60's :D

  • @ChrisPawelski LOL it's true! Dracula pranced! LOLOL

  • @ChrisPawelski

They seemed to be having fun with Drac being either a fag, or a cross-dresser.

  • @ChrisPawelski I bet you understand NOW!!!

  • @ChrisPawelski I agree that the shoes def. look like pumps, but as far as his "pantyhose" go, I think they are supposed to be x-tra long pants. I mean, they do match his vest. I don't know - Just a theory I guess.

  • @ChrisPawelski well after all, he was European.

  • @ChrisPawelski Seriously!!!!

  • @ChrisPawelski and the waratchi sandals and jams by weirdo woolfie, or the green coat and highwaters by frightening frankie. maybe because their trying the "funky and groovy threads" nineteen sixties look. prolly smoke it too.

  • This was my favorite show, had the coloring book and everything that I could. Not many people that I know remember this show.....glad to see that I am not alone!

  • I LOVED this show as a kid so it's a great trip down memory lane to see this.Alas,as an animator,I can't get over the chronic overuse of footage & anim cycles to pan out the opener.God they were cheapskates! & I thought Hanna Barbera were the kings of skimpers.(BTW my animation lecturer told a funny story. At HB they were ordered to re-use walk cycles as much as possible. But the storage cupboard was such a long walk away from the drawing studio it was quicker to simply redraw the damn thing .)

  • Reminds me that what we used to call the Gothic kids back in High School The Groovie Goolies.

  • I was hoping I could find the Looney Toons crossover that I read the Goolies were with. It had Mel Blanc and the orig. animators backing up the Toons. I feel what I read was true, but found no sign of it. Love the Goolies and it brings back childhood memories and feelings.

  • Where can you download there songs?

  • man i use to watch this on VHS and "I don't see a Green Giant Anywhere" "Peek a boo but he can see yooouuuoouuuu" and all their puns and jokes XD

  • I used to borrow a VHS of this from the local library again and again when I was little :) Amazing!

  • When they made The Groovie Goolies and Friends Show they removed the opening. Hope it's on the DVDs.

  • please can you upload some episodes?

  • I've always loved the hippie werewolf.

  • @Gunstar1701 Me too, but even back then I thought he was a rip-off of Shaggy.

  • I feel much better now...

  • I needed that!

  • frankie,count dracula and wolfie

  • @funkymum1968 Thanks bunch.

  • So what are these guys' names?

  • Now this song's stuck in my head.

    In a good way.

  • What is the name of this show on german? I seen this often but i cant remember the name :(

  • born in the 80s, groovie goolies was one of my favourite cartoons.

  • Born in 69. Seeing these shows after 30+ years.

No generation will ever appreciate youtube as much as mine.

  • @rainrunner1 , your 100% right I was born in 1967 and no generation could appreciate theses classic shows as our generation.

  • Born in 1971, this cartoon, along with the Wacky Races and the Banana Splits were my absolute favourites. I remember watching all of these when is was the annual Summer Holidays - 6 weeks of playing out, watching cartoons and not a care in the world. Kids programmes of today drive me insane. They make me CRINGE!!

  • i remember this as a kid, i live in australia, anyone know what year this aired in sydney, australia ?

  • I grew up in the 70's in LA and I can remember running home from school so I would not miss the Groovie Goolies. Thanks for the great memories.

  • Fantastic !

  • We do we get today?Answer:Jahne and the Dragon,Perlie and Johnny Test.BS!

  • OH DAMN...do I feel OLD as HELL seeing this....

    .

Does this make me an old fart to remember watching Saturday Morning Cartoons like the "Groovy Goolies"?

  • @ThoughtTraveler Where does the time go. I used to love watching the Archies, Groovy Ghoulies and Wacky Races and so on. These were entertainment and they were funny, especially Looney Tunes. Todays cartoons from what I can tell are all about robots destroying things etc.

  • @yeahcousin1

Yeah. You said it right. Before TV became a 300,000 channel Satellite monster....it was simple - just 3 or 4 stations to choose from.

    .

It is SAD that today's kids will NEVER experience the fun of Saturday morning cartoons like we did.

    .

I remember getting up at 7 in the morning to catch all of my favorite cartoons.

    .

Now kids brains are plugged right into IPods and other gadgets like they are the freeking BORG or something.

    .

    Sad.

  • LAWD have mercy, I ain't heard that in what- 32-33 years...? FANTASTIC post!

  • HEY!! Everybody shout!! Come now sing out!!

It's time for the Goolie's get together!!I Your going to see how funny they can be. Because it's Time for the Goovey Goolie's Show!!!

  • jaaaa!!!! :-D

ich habe die vhs immernoch! :-)

  • Thanks for posting this.

  • a real classic cartoon

  • A classic cartoon

  • What a classic series i wish they would bring this one back...

  • I needed that!

  • I use to love watching this! Got up to watch it before school around 6am haha.

  • Yea I liked this show too & all of the extras like the gilligan's island....esp. how the skipper, gilligan, & Mr. Howl(spelled wrong) walked in the cartoon lol!....used to crack me up!...I believe Best Buy still sells it on DVD

  • Thje Groovy Goolies were one of my favs growing up as a kid! There were so many cartoons to choose from back then: Archies, Sabrina, The Drac Pac, Scooby Doo, Goober and the Ghost Chasers ...man those were the days!

  • Awesome memories. ^^

  • This looks like a show I would have watched had I been alive then (I'm almost 21). Catchy song!

By the way, when was this show on TV?

  • late 60's early 70's

  • the 'count' was gay

  • The count wasn't gay. He's just ahead of his time. He's wearing those "skinny"pants that all the kids are wearing these days.

  • Oh wow!! was that a childhood flashback?? I loved this show, especially the catchy opening theme

  • For 59 seconds, forgotten childhood memories emerge;THANK YOU!!!

  • I grew up in Seattle and used to watch this every morning before school with my big brother Scott and eat bowls of Fruit Brute and Count Chocula!!!

  • Are you sure it wasn't Franken Berry?

  • Good Times!

  • Why don't cartoons have fabulous opening songs anymore?! This is sooo cool to sing along too. Kids get a raw deal today, whereas my gen got this, and Scooby, and the Archies etc. We're the lucky ones.

  • i needed that

  • Comment removed

  • This was one of my absolute favorite cartoons when I was a kid. Too bad they don't put the episodes on TVland.

  • Comment removed

  • I remember this from when I was little and at nursery school. Seems to have been made in late 60s/early 70s but it must have played on TV in the 80s too (at least here in UK) for me to have seen it.

  • Yeah, the dracula character was a straight ass faggot chasing the wolfman who was his Transylvania lover.

  • Awh...love this, brings back memories of being a boy

  • I hated this show. Along with the Archie Jukebox BS.

  • I think I thought the dracula character was gay even though I didn't know what gay was when I was 7..lol. Watch him run..he runs like a woman!

  • LMAO!

  • To be seven again THIRTY FIVE YEARS LATER

  • man, good times...!!

  • Oh man, this is going right into my favorites! I used to watch this in the very early 70's before school and sometimes after. The opening is still as bright as day in my mind. Sabrina the Teen-Aged Witch and The Archies were part of the show also at one time.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this long lost classic, and as Frankie would say, " I-iiii needed that!" :-)

  • I didn't know the name or anything about this show, I just remembered it from my childhood and I had some vague notion that ghoul or goolies was in the title. A 10 minute searched brought me to this. Thanks!

  • I really miss this. Only had one old video which was given by my Auntie.

It was the episode where they meet the Looney Tunes. Could someone upload that sometime?

  • I had that one as well! Most of the main Looney Toons characters were in it (except Bugs Bunny, for some reason).

  • Yeah, that was the only episode I've ever seen. Though I have seen some of the songs on here.

  • Brings back all the great memories.

And, now, it's, weird, window, game lol

  • I looved taht cartoon

  • I've just been watching the dvd collection with my neices and they love this show as much as I did when I was a kid. Great music, great character designs and a lot of good (corny) jokes.

  • I wish that the old Filmation cartoons would come on. I guess Boomerang doesn't have the rights to them.

  • Classic Media has the rights to the show

  • YES!!!!!

lets go guys and play with our ghoulies!!!!

    8-)

  • I love these toons, back then music and songs were a crucial part of cartoons and not the junk humor you see today in cartoon network.

  • I needed that

  • I miss that cartoon.I always liked watching "The new adventures of Gilligan".

  • jesus, this brings back memories LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

  • @xkaulitz89 I agree, I wish I was there again but I still am in my heart...

  • HEY!! Everybody shout!! Come now sing out!! It's time for the Goolie's get together!!I Your going to see how funny they can be. Because it's Time for the Goovey Goolie's Show!!!

  • Holy 1970, Batman. lol I was 6.

  • haha i loved to watch it, thanks for posting!

  • Used to watch thisevery morning before elementary school.

  • what a pointless argument, you are actually talking about who is better, europeans or americans. You are just asking for trouble...

  • i used to love this

  • Nice tits! I love you, because you are gay! KAMERATEEER!!

  • please search on youtube: The Divine Book

  • Gothtastic, ya dig?

  • How old is this? O_o

  • Now this is a cult I wouldn't mind being trapped in a large burning Texas compound with!

  • im remember this they must of re run it in the 80s

  • I love cartoons from the sixties. lol

  • ha the groovie goolies!

  • two songs per episode One of those songs,"Kings and Queens", has played over and over in my mind more than any other ten tunes combined.

  • HELL YEAH!!! That's what I was looking for when I found this. If you ever find that song, video, ANYTHING!!! PLEASE let me know!!!

    That and Weirdo Wolfie

  • i needed that!

  • so... uh... Real animators were paid to make this... the producer can probably be found at an outback bar in a small town called chelmsford.

  • Iiiii neeeeded thaaaaat!

  • Where the hell did you find this?!? unBELIEVABLE! Thanks for bringing back memories of a far better time.

As for you commentors, go jack off to Sponge Bob. You wouldn't know anything about good Saturday morning entertainment, but there used to be real cartoons on that didn't have to abide by todays political correctness bullshit.

  • Well put my friend, the animation in the modern cartoons are disturbing and weird. Just introduced my niece and nephew to Tom and Jerry, they loved it.

  • IT'S A SPIN-OFF OF A SPIN-OFF

  • why the hell does the lion have sandels, and why the hell does dracula run like hes gay?

  • I think thats supposed to be the wolfman O_o

  • Oh, I don't know, maybe because the SHOW was gay?

I never saw it myself, thank God, but I know just from the opening that it sucks.

  • I loved this show when it was new and I was a child. Wow, thats getting to be a long time ago.......

  • One of the amusing failures of Americans to understand that the English spoken in England often means something different to that in the States...

Drac looks about as camp as a row of pink tents.

  • I understand English, despite being American. And when I was in England I found my understanding and using the English rather than the American versions of words seemed to upset people, rather as if I'd somehow overstepped my station.

  • I'm sick of Europeans thinking they are so much better than Americans. Seriously, get over it please.

  • Nothing to do with that, just that there are certain English slang expressions that never made it across the Pond. It's as if we had a character called Freddy The Fag who was so-called because he always smoked cigarettes. It would mean something different in the US...

  • Too right

  • As we're sick of Americans thinking they're so much better than Europeans.

  • Umm its not us europeans who think we are better than anyone. We are not the ones who voted Bush in twice after all... we KNOW we are better!!
