  • the tone came from stevies soul not number one!

  • Just when i think ive heard it all!!

  • great version of this song, i so so miss Stevie.

  • Nothing rare.. but thanks for sharing

  • @stratocaster1959

Yeah this ain't from el Macombo 'cause when he play this at el Macombo, he did this big whooosh sound right into the song. Besides, you can just tell this is different just by listening to it. This is great, though!

  • i met Stevie Ray in austin,tx in a club called Amtones. He just released TEXAS Flood. RIP Stevie Ray<.

  • Excellent version; thanks for sharing!

  • I FUCKING HATE helicopters.

  • Just checked out this vidar guy!! I recommend anyone to check him out if you want to WASTE some seconds of your life. I don't understand some people?? Some people just don't understand tone!

  • wow if u look through all the comments here that tony dick started so many fights

  • He use to go by another name but he got kicked off for trying to seduce little boys. We mostly ignore him because he likes the attention.

  • lol shut up pussy. No one cares about you insignificant opinion.

  • You obviously do otherwise you wouldnt have taken the trouble to reply.

    Think on Fatlad, think on.

  • No fag, you just feel the need to argue with everyone one about the guy in the video, in this room. You're looks for confrontation but John Mayer is amazing and your whining won't change that. Good day. :)

  • All I said was SRV is wet, Mayer is limp and Canadians worry mooses- Factual statements of truth and yet you still stamped on your own poodle in a temper.

  • You fail.

  • You lavender smelling fop with your two word sentences. Take the morning off and go tidy up your miniature daffodills.

  • Get owned fag. SRV is better than you.

  • Calm down dear, don't wet your panties when you've only just put them on. SRV is worm food, that fact alone makes me infinatley superior to him in any comparative sense. Now don't start crying and telling your Mom a big boy said a nasty thing to you about the junkie tribute act.

  • Keep crying :''(

    SRV is better than you.

  • And still living on through his music.

    Keep crying. :'''(

    SRV is better than you.

  • wow your a sick fuck just iwant you to know that your insulting him bc of some sorta ego problem not realizing he died after 5 years clean and that he was more than a musician he was a person with family and friends who died in an unfortunate helicopter accident your a sick fuck

  • The real tragedy is you are still a dick and are alive to make a fool of yourself.

Wait, I guess it's entertaining seeing you make a fool of yourself, carry on now.

  • and btw im from new york not mexico or texas im 18 so im not some 11 year old

  • But you do own an ornamental miniature dog right? Sounds like you do.

  • no i own a living rotweiler who does think its a chiwowa

  • You need to get a pug mate then at least you could spell it's name.

  • OH NO....NOT ANOTHER WHINING MOOSE WORRIER! Jesus christ every second person on youtube is a bloody Canadian, isnt there anything else to do in Mooseland? No I thought not.

  • Thank you for posting this awesomeness!!

  • In my opinion he plays this song much better at the "Elmocambo" show in Canada! I am not saying his playing is really that much better but the tone is waayy waay better at the Elmocambo

  • No entiendo mucho ingles.

  • I think there are people who do SRV much better than SRV

  • LOL^

  • 1. Have you ever met SRV?

    2. Skill on guitar is purely opinionated

    3. #1 is the nicest guitar in the world... no better tone

    4. Nobody ever has had a better tone than Stevie

    5. What the fuck does sideburns have to do with anything?

    6. Stevie can sing amazingly.

and 7. How the hell can somebody play somebody's music better than the original artist?

    anything else??

  • @claptonhendrix1

the guitar had very little to do with the tone.

    hands, dude. hands.

  • @robdorg hands,,, indeed, great observation.

  • @tony9L9L So, I checked this guy Vidar. And I came to a conclusion. You are one of the three: either a complete clueless idiot (this is my favorite), or Vidar mom's or Vidar himself (seeing what a poser the guy is this is a plausible alternative).

Come on, anyone can see right away (and I watched quite a few videos). he is a slightly above average guitar player(mediocre at times), his tone is very poor and thin (not man enough to use real heavy gauge strings I'd say) with an amateur vibrato...

  • @tommytalks77 i totally agree. If anything he is trying to cop a lot of shit from SRV. The beat up strat, the failed attempt to wear a scarf, and to me looks like Fat Elvis. So there's the irony of what tony9L9L said about SRV's look of straining on a toilet. Obviously a friend or failed musician. Vidar couldn't carry Stevie's jock strap in a fucking suitcase!!

  • @tony9L9L I remember the first time I drank alcohol too!

  • never even heard of the mother fucker!!!!! you are too funny. i gave a listen and vidar or whatever his name is couldn't even carry Stevie's strap.

  • Change the batteries in your hearing aid fatlad.

  • I sort of hear a little buzz around my head, kind of like a fly, you know one of the shit eating flies. Oh no it's just tony. Kiss my arse, fly

  • No, the buzzing is coming from your hearing aid- change the batteries (if you can afford the money) and it will stop. Unfortunatley it isn't going to be so easy to cure your obesity, impotence and hair loss, you just have to learn to live with them.

  • Oh it's little toni the shit eater. how ya doin little buddy? Did ya get that little hamster you stuck up your ass out yet? You gotta quit doing that shit little buddy.

  • His tones more distorted its sounds fucking awesome

  • He's all thumbs. Don't you ever wish he would play something else? Just round and round and round the same bloody thing.... his neighbours must have been half mad by he sheer repetition.

  • hmm you like jimi but jimi's one hit was a bob dylan small world huh?

  • Bob didn't write Voodoo Chile or Hey Joe or Are you Experienced or have anything to do with Jimi's version of the Stars and stripes which made musical history. Nor did he help Jimi with Machine gun which Miles Davis coveted. i could go on.....

You need to do some proper research and take your head out of vaughan's junkie backside.

  • Jimi didnt write hey joe it was an old cow boy song ...

  • So Billy Roberts was a cowboy? lol You will be telling me the star spangled banner is an old cowboy song next.

Is there anything that you DON'T know or are you just an expert on everything?

Now take your head OUT OF THE JUNKIE'S ARSE

  • No I have the Are you Experienced CD right in front of me jimi said himself its based off an old cowboy song. Thats why theres the lyric I'm goin' way down south,Way down to Mexico

  • So are you saying he was a Mexican cowboy?

Jimi also said he had been in a spaceship to give the mooks who love that sort of crap something to think about.

You put that Experienced CD on and leave all this junkie tribute crap to the deaf and sad. Jimi can save you.

  • I think I will enjoy both.

  • Why do you continue to torture yourself by listening to the howling death rasps of a throttled cat when you could so easily be enjoying aural joy with the Experience?

You only need the Jimi, throw that other weak crap in the "garbage" dustbin or whatever you call it in Hicksville.

  • Lol Well you could judt lidten to jim and albert king and there ya go

  • Hot dam son I is gonna buy you a chicken coz I done hate to see you lonely.

  • No way. how can you call yourself a hendrix fan and not like SRV..i would think you would have enough respect for both of them to talk about each of them like they would talk about each other..you think hendrix would listen to you talk that way about a fellow musician (who idolized him..no less)..yea right. if i were him, i wouldnt even want an ignorant fan like you. i would want all my fans to have the same appreciation for the music that i have.

  • Everyone speculates that Hendrix would have loved srv and they would have been friends but when someone fawns and drools all over you it's not very pleasant. Jimi liked the company of musicians that he regarded as equal to himself. I reckon he would have been embarrassed about him like when you see a Japanese kid with a quiff.

  • haha..you have alot to learn about how musicians think of one another..if you think for even a half a second that Hendrix wouldnt have dug SRV then you must be something else. its not a contest between those guys..(and when i say those guys i mean all the greats..of all genres) they are all flattered to play with each other. good thing too, cuz thats why they make such great music. and did you know hendrix? cuz you talk like you did.

  • Perhaps it's that way in the Disney films that you get your information from but not between musicians in the real world.

  • hahahah..yea ok pal. ill take your word for it..seeing in how you are a successful musician in the real world? you should re-read your comments. you sound like a joker.

  • I aint got time to re read my comments no matter how witty and clever they are- new comments- that's the future.

  • yea well the world "aint" got time for your bullshit..and ill take the fact that you ignored the question as a no..you arent a musician in the real world..so why dont you do everyone a solid and keep your trap shut eh? if ya got something decent to say, say it. otherwise, take a hike.

  • How will I know if I have something decent to say? I love your little hissy fits. You're like a dog that's been stung by a wasp! Hilarious! lol

Oh and I didn't realise you were asking me a question about being a musician- I'm actually the legendary guitarist Eric Clapton but you won't believe me so there's not much point in mentioning it.

  • yea..my "hissy fits"...you just dont like hearing a voice of reason..and..just to humor you..watch the DVD of the SRV tribute from 1995 that was put on by Jimmy Vaughan..take careful note of what Clapton had to say about Stevie Ray. but anyways..im done messin with ya..thankfully your part of a vast minority..which means the majority of us can ignore your ignorant statements.

    "Cheers"

  • Ignore the minority who proclaim the truth- Upon such principles nation's (or to be more specific: USA) were built.

(oh and I was only joking about being Eric Clapton, I'm actually Jeff Beck....no sorry I mean Jimmy Page)

  • It's so funny when these brits try to comment on the blues.

  • It's so funny when little kids try to comment on the blues.

  • Man-thanks whoever posted. This one's a gem. (My favorite-the high-position licks from 1:10-1:24).

  • Excelente excelente!! Unico!. Esto pertenece a 1983 At Hollywood Palace.

  • 1:33 to about 1:55

Those turnarounds they were doing were SO sweet.. you only get that sort of tasty stuff with SRV and DT. This is gold! This song changed my night.

  • this is from 'hollywood palace' a bootleg which also has the 'wham', 'mary had a little lamb' and 'testify' that can be found on the extended 'texas flood' cd

  • I think this is from when he played in austin texas in 1983, when he has that blue happy coat on :), thanks for the upload cheers ^^

  • thnks you man i love this song

  • Yeah this isn't El Macombo. I can tell. I watch it all the time. Close but way different licks he does. Anyone who has the DVD or w.e. should be able to tell. And This is one of my fav songs by him. Awesome!!! Thanks for posting.

  • oh man, just listening to this makes me wanna jam, i love srv hes such a big inspiration to me. i have an interpretation of the song "lenny" on my page if any of you want to check it out, rip.

  • Nice! Thanks for posting.

  • This is Last Child 1983 CD, not El Mocambo!
