I've been using this software since the early versions. Yes, the user interface looks dated, but the nice thing is you don't have to relearn everything with each new version, and it works on even much older systems. The focus seems to be on the music making aspect of the software, which is fine by me.
@boonhod I so agree with you. Don't sell me software that makes me spend 6 months relearning where everything is at again. I want to make my music not be a computer geek. LOL
I just ordered this off of Ebay, and thought I'd try to find out some info on how to use this before it arrives. Since I'm a horn player and fancy italian restaurants in my area are way cheap, not paying enough to cover a whole band, this'll allow me to do a single or a duo with another horn. I wouldn't use this for practice neccessarilly cuz there's Aebersold and music minus one for that, etc. Already I'm going to be using Aebersold on the old standards, etc.
Ama feel the vibe! This rules, seriously dude. The modding is cautiously timed, intros are fun to make, and bassline addicts can also find their own style here.
I recently took delivery of BIB 2009. The realtracks are impressive. The drum tracks are excellent as well. I have not used BIB in years so I am still experimenting.
If you want to see someone that uses BIB quite well. check out JAZZGUTS.
There's one particular website from which you can grab a free copy - but you need to know how to scan the file because it's been 'added to', if you get my drift.
The easiest way to get a free copy is to find someone who'll let you install their authorised version and use their passcode. If you end up with one of the 'augmented' copies you won't be too happy about ... but it may be a few weeks before you realise what's happened.
FREE??? You ARE joking, I hope. This is a fully commercial program and is definitely not cheap , but is worth it. Search the internet and you'll find free or shareware programs which do similar sorts of things (though not as well). One good one will take midi files and convert them into rhythm 'styles' which can be applied to other midi files or your own compositions. There are also several good, free chord players for guitarists or 'jammers' to use. It's just a case of searching for yourself.
It is a tremendous bargain with the real tracks. Nothing else comes close. Guitar Hero is not free either and it is a total joke with its colored lights that monkeys could follow. This is one of the best music teaching tools ever invented. OUr sons are great jazz musicians as a result of using it as an accompanient to their improvising.
this is an automated accompanient program, not an aarranging program like Sibelius. Use it to teach yourself to improvise to chord changes In fact we have two sons who have been using biab since the 4th grade and are extremely creative. It is next to impossible to find rhythm section players that can keep up with a good young soloist. Biab real tracks never play the wrong chord unles it is garbage in garbage out.. try it or check out our youtube site.
try to find a neighbor hood rhythm section that is this good and available 24/7 if you can we will come to your house to jam.. This is a practice tool until you get your own combo going.
This is interesting, I wonder if you can make different arrengments within the same style, like change the bass pattern and such. But it sounds like a good idea, I will download the demo and play with it. Thanks!
The problem is not your brain, it is the monotone voice and music that makes you want to fall asleep.Question, did you figure it out? If you did let me know I have some questions....+ +..... U
How do you put a repeat sign and coda?
William102582 2 months ago
right-click on the chord sheet, and choose "Repeats/Codas/1st-2nd Endings." You’ll then see the Edit Repeats and Endings dialog

Correct me if I'm wrong, because I'm not familiar with this Program, but is this like Apple Inc's GarageBand?

Nice program. Would be very useful to back ones self while soloing on a real horn if one is lacking a dependable band!
fearsomegladiator 3 years ago
your right. It would be easier to go to collage for 4 yrs and learn to play..ha ha
trk1050 3 years ago
Only our sons started playing along to biab in 4ath grade and now they might not even need to go to college to become pros.
creativecommunitynet 2 years ago
i think is easier to play a real instrument. or get some friends to play music damn!
javier7high 3 years ago
I think that the best way to use this program is for practicing. Nothing wrong with playing along with a backing track.
hateaters 3 years ago
I really like Guitar Pro the most for those cases -.-
growlingmetal 3 years ago 2
@hateaters , I don't agree. It's also very good for composing and even recording the final product, especially if you have Realtracks.
