you think that was a varnished pump, you should take a look at a pump that has had fuel in it for 40 years. now that is some nasty stuff. that would gag a maggot.
@kreigsmann I am not slow. I am not going to fight on Daniel's videos though. I do think that lawn mowers have a float and bowl. Not all position carb (Diaphragm Carb) They are for weed eaters and such.
what about the gas tank can (5 gallon jug) that we that we fill at the gas station, i know it will be sitting for a while to get it empty, do we need to use stabilizer in it too?
Classy Video... However, I usually leave snowblowers/mowers/trimers in the shed for months with whatever gas is in the tank, no stabilizer, and never had a problem. Usually they fire right up no issues.
good vid. i always say store it with full tank or dry. thats the best way, but over hear it dose not get under -1'c so im not shore what the fuel dose over there when its -30'c.lol
Nice film! Good information. I run a lawn and garden shop and I suggest to my customers STA-BIL in all of their gas cans. Not because I sell the stuff, but because a lot (not all) of my customers neglect their equipment.
Or just drain all the feul out of the tank, then run the engine till it dies because theres no fuel an wallah there you go.just dont keep any gas at all.
no you cant save old gas ... it can be used a a good fire starter tho .. and hear is a quick tip if you want you mower to last years longer use 91 gas it is way better for the engine and helps with power and start ups =)
i jsut empty the fuel take and run my equipment out of gas, it never fails me, i put fresh gas in the spring and most of the stuff starts first pull others 3
the first time i tried fuel stabilizer around 8 years ago, it ruined my carbs so i said that stuff was shit and didn't use it again. I just got some this year because it said it had ethanol treatment to avoid engine damage. It hasn't hurt anything yet. I used Napa brand.
I'll stick to emptying my fuel tanks for long periods of storage though. I'm still leery of the octane rating dropping. It's not hard to do, and I think it's a bit more guaranteed than these 'miracle products' lol.

@kreigsmann Are you implying that fuel stabilizer hurts a engine?
GmTruckCarLove 9 months ago
@GmTruckCarLove no slow
it hurts diaphragm carbs

GmTruckCarLove 9 months ago
@GmTruckCarLove im pretty sure you are slow if you think mowers dont have diaphragms.
all the smaller engines have them and they work great and have been working great for decades.
they are the easiest and best working carbs made.
float and bowl carbs leak and are hard to rebuild.
kreigsmann 9 months ago
@kreigsmann I am not going to argue with you. All of my lawn mowers have Float and Bowl carbs.
GmTruckCarLove 9 months ago
@GmTruckCarLove no need to argue im just right
i like float and bowl carbs they work great when theyre not leaking
but pos carbs never fail
kreigsmann 9 months ago
@kreigsmann You are calling me slow. I do not know about you, but that ticks me off. Lawn Mowers have Float and Bowl carbs. (most anyways)
GmTruckCarLove 9 months ago
@GmTruckCarLove no im just joking take it easy
yea most lowers have floats unfortunately.
they are easy er to clean

I find its easier to add the Sta-bil right after I fill up my gas can at the pump.
(then you dont have to measure out those small amounts. ;)
Besides, you'd prolly use up that small tank before you finish mowing that day..(depanding on lawn size)
Just my .02
I love your films though...used to hate'em...but now I love them.
I talk too much.

you should put the stabilizer in the tank first, then fill it with gas to ensure it gets mixed around.
