German Special Forces (and I'd guess a bunch of others) use comparable helicopters. Saw them at a military show once. If the pilots had been going any lower they would've been mowing the lawn. Fast as hell to, and a good pilot stops them on a friggin napkin, lets his "cargo" get off and is gone again before potential targets can say "Wuzgoinon?" I guess these guys use their machines in the same way. Correct me if I'm wrong.

@lastenubergabe Yes the Bo105. German SOF KSK unit trains with them, using some of the tactics they learned while on exchange programs in Ft. Bragg, where they did train with the 160th Little Birds.

I've only been exposed to civilian aviation so I've only had the pleasure of flying in 500 D and E models. Can you tell me why the little birds don't ever seem to have high skid gear?

im not sure but i think it so that when inserting or extracting a unit of spec ops, the soldiers can easily hop on or off. would be good for roof top insertions because the little bird doesnt land on the roof but hovers inches above it. higher skid gear would mean a higher jump for the inserting unit.

Good clip of the little birds, brings back alot of memories. Former Night Stalker I was an aircraft electrition and say the little birds go from Y tail to T tail also did some cool development of one off parts back the day.

hey do any other regiments fly mh-6s or ah-6s? from what ive read so far you cant fly littlebirds straight out of flightschool. Are nightstalkers the only regiment that has em?

Yes, only the 160th operates these birds. 1st Battalion A co flys MH-6s (Six Packs), B co flys AH-6s (Six Guns). Its preferable if you have at least two combat tours after you get out of Ft. Rucker. IMHO MH-6 pilots and mechanics have the best job in the entire US Army :]
