I hate how they make natural (normal) birth appear extreme, dangerous and outrageous. Dude, what's extreme, dangerous and outrageous is the barbaric treatment of women and babies in hospitals. So ridiculous. Birth is an intense thing, that doesn't make it horrible.

The Hawaii birth was done by my Mentor April...I wasn't as happy about the other two births showed though...

I've been searching for information about this program (in addition to what's posted on the Discovery website) and was happy to see this video! As an unassisted childbirth advocate, I'm pleased to see what appears to be an (unintentional) unassisted birth! But I was sorry to see that another woman planning a homebirth changed her mind after discovering the baby was breech. Breech babies can be born at home (mine was). In any case, I'm looking forward to watching this!

I am not pregnant but looking forward to a home birth or a "no drug" birth when it happens to me. I am happy to see that westerners (I am from Hong Kong) are seeing the benefit of not having drugs for births. I live in Canada now and I hope I can find these opinions when the time comes... =)

no way... I am serious... I had a friend, she had drugs the 1st time giving birth to her son. She got really sick after. She then tried no drugs for her 2nd birth, a daughter. She said, yeah it hurts at the time, but after she felt much better. I believe there were so much births before drugs came along, why do we need it now?! I don't think I'll die without drugs, so I am going for a NO DRUGS birth.

@cutemsbunny good on you, the elation is amazing. And yes I have had a labout with some drugs, it was horrible, I then had a totally drug free labour, which was AWESOME
