Thanks for the memories DJ and all other Celtics. Boston has always been my adopted team since Cincy will never have another NBA team and hasn't had one in my lifetime of 30 yrs. I haven't cared about or watched the NBA since the mid-90's b/c it isn't magical anymore. You just can't top Bird, Magic, Jordan and their fellow players of that era. I'm so glad DJ is in the Hall now b/c he was special and so much fun to watch, so clutch and so unselfish. He was one of sports' true heroes. RIP DJ.
DJ played center in College and held his own against guys much taller, when he entered the NBA and was a guard he was a match up nightmare. One of the best ever. If he shot the ball 15x or per game he would have been one of the all time highest scorers . RIP
dj was the best. one time he told me they (seattle) were going to win by two points, and he would make the winning basket. they did, he did, i has to buy the chivas for losing the bet. i think his best move was taking little back steps until he was in the 3-point range. bingo, another win! missin' ya, snaggletooth
Still can't believe he's gone-from what I've read, he put on quite a bit of weight since he retired. There isn't really any other reason why he just up and died the way he did. I remember what a competitor he was and I rememeber back when he was with Phoenix when I was in grade school. I hope that he can get into the hall of fame. RIP DJ, you were the ultimate team player who could do it all!

DJ will be sorely missed. It's too bad, but unselfish players like this are a thing of the past. And how about that voice over by Johnny Most?

as unreal great a steal as it was
dj breaking to the hoop was just
as important
b/c if he doesnt the steal
doesnt amount to anything
watching this play actually brings a tear
to my eye it's two magnificent
winners in a moment of pure grace
dj: one of the greatest money players of all-time and that's w/o a doubt

Everybody in Boston owes a debt of gratitude to DJ, he was great. The people in the Hall of Fame should take notice.

The only good thing about DJ's death was that he never saw the murder of his Sonics.
