So many people disappointed in this. But I think it is seriously brilliant. I'm as big a fan as anyone of their previous albums, but it's all a progression. Shpongle and Prometheus have their own directions, this is Younger Brothers (at least for the moment). When you become a musical genius like Simon Posford, you can make your decisions about your direction for your music. In the meantime, enjoy it or at the least appreciate it.

@govdo Why does it matter what it is? Does it sound good or not? If it's not for you, then don't buy the album. It sounds amazing to me. Pound a rhythm is already one of my favourite Posford songs of any of his many projects over the years. Thats saying a lot being a complete psybient/ ambient/ shpongle/celtic cross - head.

I guess I see what you are saying Hasheaven, but lets not judge the whole album to quick (aka their current sound they are projecting). I do agree that evolution is about novelty, but even when I listen to this song, I listen to the lyrics and to the quieter atmospheric sounds layered within the "pop"y, shoegaze, alt rock sounds, and i'm graced with a novel experience. I adore both released albums by Younger brother, and I still love the shit out of this song. The lyrics are beyond beautiful and with hints of all the sounds you normally love from YB still intermixed. If you can't hear YB in this song, you've obviously haven't listen close enough.

It may have a different overall sound, but that is the beautiful part of music, the evolution. I hate hearing artists who practically create the same album 50 times. Expansion and evolution is a wonderful thing.

@tomatonis..hey thanks for agreeing. I loved the first two albums as well. It was something different. Perhaps you might like moonbeam..they are not psychedelic but trance.  But it has a gothic feel. Listen to "to forever" by moonbeam. They also have other really good songs...

this song totally sounds like coldplay etc. i dont like the general direction this album has taken. i hope this is the only worse song of the track. i however liked pound a rhythm. i hope yb really listens to their fans out there rather than lowering their value at expense of getting new fans. @srajan0929 It doesn't work like you assume. Do Coldplay or any of these band's that "sound like this" have same kind of artistic background as Younger Brother? Obviously not. Then, all though there are same kind of melodies and stuff, you don't hear psychedelic electronic music in the sound of Coldplay. I personally dig the fact that they utilize their artistic freedom. They are free to do everything that feels right to them. I bet they are doing music for them selves anyway.
